Godnet - Valkyrie Protocol

After the betrayal of Luciferel, and having to deal with the Nephilim problem God made a few changes to how Heaven was run. Time does not quite flow the same in Heaven, so God was able to draw inspiration from millennia of human history. In the end, God chooses to structure things like a mega-corporation with him as the CEO and his archangels acting as department heads. To keep the threat of another angel rebellion to a minimum, every few years the angels would be ordered to change departments. To ensure that things ran smoothly and that the communication between departments happened in a timely fashion a Heaven-wide internet was established called Godnet. Due to an accident caused by mistaken identity, John Smith was killed by an angel on her first day in the Department of Death. By the time she released her mistake, it was far too late to "just" put him back in his own body. In an effort to correct her mistake the angel tried to have John Smith be reborn in the universe she originally was supposed to have a John Smith die in. The Angel was originally in IT for Godnet so she thought that it would be not too difficult to hide her little oops by altering a few records. However, she got a call from Upper Management during the process of having John be reborn. Figuring the " proper" department would step in to finish the process, the angel left to report to upper management, not wanting to receive an even bigger punishment than what she was already going to receive. In her rush to leave, she forgot to close down the connection to Godnet.

It has been a long night

Informed that due to the midnight start of training the next scheduled training would not begin until 06:00 the following day, all recruits could use the remainder of the day to recover and acquaint themselves with their fellow squad members, Zeph should have half expected what waited for on the other side of the hellish icy blue lightning ride of the telapod in ES001.

But his caffeine buzz had come to an end over an hour ago and the only thing he could think about was his pillow and snuggling up between the two beauties that could already be passed out in his enormous bed. Their training day ended hours before his and they must be almost as tight as he or so he thought.

Regaining his senses after arriving on the telapod pad in the entrance way of ES001 Zeph half expected to be welcomed home by the custom drone that he had given the name Lilly.

"Hi Squad Leader Sir, about time they let you end your first day of training."

Instead of his insanity attractive perfect stand in for Lilith, service and companion drone, it was an overly energetic Laura Lane who was sitting on Josh Palmer's lap with her arms around his neck on the couch.

"It was a really long night for all of us, so why are you not all passed out in your own beds?"

"The very nice captain said for us all to wait here until you got here to remind you about lunch. We are all already late. But she said that she had forgotten about what time your training ended when she told you to be in the lobby with us ten minutes before your training day official ended today. She said she she would wait until 12:20 at the latest."

"And none of your thought to just invite her up here?"

"I tried mow. But all the AI said was that I was not authorized to invite someone you had not previously authorized master. Err, Squad Leader Demonbane."

"Ha, ha,ha. You are soo busted kitty. You might as well have a collar on under your uniform."

"Ahh, Candi! So rude."

""Current time""

*Bing*

12:13

"It is already 12:13 and we really should not Keep Captain Halt waiting to spend her hard earned credits on us recruits that would normally not even get a glance from a Captain until after graduation."

Jumping to their feet, the members of Squad One even said; "Yes Squad Leader." almost reflexively.

**First floor lobby**

"Good work recruits. I am sure that your Squad Leader would have forgotten about our deal, and lunch all together if not for you and thanks to a certain officer I realized that I told him a time that would have caused the offer to be a moot point."

"Excuse me Captain Halt."

Came a soft timid sounding voice from behind the front desk of the lobby."

"I am not sure what the boy on the night shift told you receptionist, but I am not going to rip your head off for just taking to me."

"Sir, the transportation authorized by Commissioner Vaughn just arrived outside the main entrance."

The timid young receptionist on duty said in a slightly less mousey voice.

"Thanks. Alright recruits go get on the mobile command unit. It looks like a big city public transit bus with the division logo emblazed on the sides of it. Not that all of you will know what a bus even looks like with how prevalent telapod transport terminals are now."

"What are you waiting for recruits! The captain gave you an order. If you fail to follow her orders I will get Sr. Instructor Westnight to allow me to have you experience what a day of my training is like. I believe that tomorrow is twelve hours with the criminal offense code book in a small training room which probably doesn't have the nice comfortable chairs the one you got to sit in all day."

Zeph did not even raise his voice, but squad one jumped and ran out of the main lobby as fast as they could.

"Get in, find a seat, and don't touch anything recruits."

Came a gruff voice of an officer that did not look all too pleased about what he thought of as being stuck playing chauffeur to a bunch of wet behind the ears academy recruitment roster slot fullers that had not even began to go through the filter that always caused a few washouts each cycle.

His eyes caught sight of a pink Lepus walking past him on her way to find a seat, causing him to stare at her luscious long ears far longer than he should, when he needed to make sure that all of the recruits climbing in did not touch any of the numerous pieces of expensive monitoring equipment located in the mobile command unit.

The mobile command unit was a NEO HQ on hover plates, stuffed to the gills with advanced communication systems, surveillance equipment, monitoring stations, and nuro net frequency detection arrays, as well as emergency medical support drones and tactical response gear.

"She is claimed, and you really don't want the kind of heat her owner can bring down on you. You even think about touching that bunny and you will be driving a broom until retirement, Officer Witmer."

"Sure Jack, you just don't want me to beat you to the punch."

Jack Dean just shrugged and went to take a seat. I was not his problem if his fellow officer did not take his warning to heart, or failed to nice that one of the recruits was not like the others.

Seeing the mobile command unit passing through the city was something that caught the attention of many residents of Los Diablos, but as the VGPINN news feeds had no articles about dangerous Nephilim sightings in the city, so most just continued about their business.

A few rumors spread in certain channels thinking that a big bust was going to go down, but the only thing that was going to go down was the number of credits in Captain Halt's account.

While most of squad one was distracted by all the equipment inside of the mobile command unit, Zeph was more interested in the video feed of the city passing by then being displayed on one of the monitors. But the gentle vibrations of the moving mobile command unit and the soft headrest caused him to take a short nap that made him miss most of the sights the small amount of the city they traveled through had to offer.
