"And why would you think that you are helping me?" Wyne said with a poker face, inwardly he was trying not to laugh at the boy's face and continued.

"I can kill the boars on my own, I get 10 EXP in total from each, while you people get 2 EXP killing a single boar. now tell me why would I need your help?."

'You not even humiliated me in front of my Claire but mocked me like an idiot." he started gnashing his teeth with a red face from anger and unconsciously took his sword out of the hilt. Wayne who was just having fun arguing went on guard readying the slingshot to hit any time.

The group that was looking at them with interest now frowned, Claire who was indifferently looking now went towards them and said only one thing.

"That's enough" Her voice was icy cold and had the aura of a leader. The boy looked at her with surprise.

Claire looked at him for a while before staring at Wayne.

"if you change your mind, do contact us," Claire said.

When Wayne looked at her, he couldn't help but want to accept. She was just too beautiful. A friend request came from her side making him surprised.

[Friend request from Claire, Accept?]

He accepted it within seconds and regretted feeling like a simp. Claire looked at him with an amused expression. She had a good sense of reading faces even if it was poker.

"Let's go, Mike"

Mike, the handsome boy who was just going to attack Wayne in anger went soft looking at his crush, with a smile, he went running to her. Wayne couldn't help but laugh looking at the boy just go without any trouble.

he looked at Claire's profile which only had her name, level, and invite option.

'Fuck, she's level 2' he looked at the girl back and found a sword on her belt, it had a needle-like structure which Wayne thought to be a rapier.

Without wasting more time, he went looking for another one. The boars all around him were occupied by the players.

The number of players kept increasing, when Wayne entered, he only saw about twenty or thirty but now there were more than that. Wayne could only see a group of three wolves in his sight. These wolves were looking at a group of players with narrowed eyes as if going to pounce on them anytime now.

'Wow the mechanics of the game is too good, they are clearly going to attack them even when those players are so much away from them.' The game was truly too good to be true.

'Hm....maybe I can attack these wolves.' he thought. All three wolves were at level 1. Wayne thought about it a little and resolved himself.

He stretched his slingshot's string with the rock loaded. Aiming it at its head. Wayne had thought, that if the rock kills one of them with one shot then he will fight but if not.....he will run.

PEW!

The rock hit the wolve's eye moving inside it in an instant. The wolf winced in pain making the other two look everywhere on their guard. Spotting Wayne was not that hard, he was just 15 meters away.

HOWL!

HOWL!

"OH SHIT!" Wayne started running in panic, the wolves were running at full speed.

Wayne looked back while loading the rock, the wolves were running crazily with actual murder in their eyes, Wayne panicked for a little but calmed down.

He aimed while running and shot the rock finally.

PEW!

Wayne couldn't believe it, the rock went up in the air and vanished. He gritted his teeth at the waste of the rock. the wolves were just going to catch him. The gap between them was not more than 6 meters.

Everybody saw him and laughed heartedly, all thinking he bit more than he could handle. Claire's group was looking at him with seriousness except for one player.

'Die motherfucker!' Mike grinned crazily, Claire saw his expression from behind and felt disgusted.

Wayne saw a branch near him and his eyes shone.

'Fuck, the wolves can't climb trees, how can I forget?' he went to it, keeping one leg on the tree's trunk and pushed up grabbing the branch. Wayne was confident in doing one pull-up, he gritted his teeth and pulled himself up.

With staggering feet, he got up the branch and readied a rock. Under everyone's surprised eyes, he shot one of the wolves from up, right on the head. The wolf didn't even whimper and fall down.

THUD!

He ignored the notifications and directly shot another, the rock this time hit near the wolf as it moved out of instinct, it saw its comrade dead on the ground and whimpered. Without waiting for another rock, it went running deep into the forest.

'The wolf got scared? Ugh, the free-kill went away! FUCK!'

No one bothered looking at the wolf running away keeping their eyes on Wayne.

'The way he used his brain, turning the tables at the last moment.....' Claire's eyes had a hidden glint in her eyes. She looked at the scrawny kid with new eyes and a better perspective.

Wayne sighed in some relief, although there was regret for not getting them all, but without getting hit. he killed one of them alone.

He got down and placed the wolf's copse in the inventory. Having enough, for now, he went to the forest's exit entering the village with a heavy breath. The market was just a few steps away from him. He entered the shop and groaned.

'I hate this already' There was a line of about 15 people waiting to sell their items. Wayne went to the last of the line with a grumpy face. I seemed he had to wait for a long time to get his fruits of labor.
