Chapter 7

The weeks following the victory begin to turn in Feyi's favour as she racks up millions of subscribers and views in due time. The mere fact that she is a woman and is able to go toe to toe with the boys and beat all of them gained her a lot of respect and also fear.

There were rumours about Feyi using scripts initially but after that match with Chris, that died down. Feyi found those rumours hilarious because it adds more to the fun.

Majority of her fellow Nigerians praise her for her skills and friendly online personality. Most of the streamers prior to her where seen as overpampered, arrogant fools. She was a breath of fresh air to many as she was very polite and rarely got angry on air even when someone tilted her that much.

But of course, there were a few people that did not like where Feyi was heading to. One of which happened to be Chris. He often comes in the chat and often complains to her about her gameplay which she fires back with sarcasm, something that he finds irritating.

He is still salty over the girl defeating him and publicly humiliating him every chance he gets. He has tried everything but nothing seems to work. Could it be that she has suddenly surpassed him?

If his memory serves him right, he used to finish her in the game years ago. She used to be within the bottom tier of the game. If she keeps up with her great performance, she could reach Ultima Rank before he does.

"This has got to stop!! I have to get to Ultima before she does!!"

His reputation was on the line and already, he hs lost thousands of subscribers. He begins to pace around, trying to figure out how best to beat her.

"I have only two options; either use that cheat code and demolish her. That is, if she has not dealt with such before. Or straight up throw in the towel...."

No. He cannot quit now. That girl must be stopped. It was then that an idea pops up. An evil smirk graces his face. Why did I not think about this? I doubt she can survive in a teamfight!! Why did I not do a team match?! I will do it this time!!"

Feyi stretches as she takes her seat. She was supposed to stream at around 4 but had to go visit her grandma. She then tries logging into her account and gasps when the thing does not work.

" Huh? Is the wifi bad today? Or is it a server issue?" She keeps on trying to make attempts to log back in but nothing. "Might have to send an e-mail to customer support.

She quickly drafts up an email and closes her laptop. Maybe tomorrow. She decides to go for a walk. Everywhere was pitch-black meaning that most people were probably at home or heading home.

She stops in her tracks as she heard some footsteps behind her. Before she could react, a barrage of gunshots are fired at her.

"This just in. Popular streamer Feyisayo Badmus has been shot outside her neighbourhood last night."

To say, this development shocked the entire Valkyrie community would be an understatement.

FantaPrince: WHAT?! SHE GOT SHOT!!

DelightOk: I suspect that Chris

SashaP: Of course it is Chris!! Did you all not see that dirty look he gave Feeyi when she was getting attention and after beating him?

HokageXX: That bastard!! Thunder fire am whey he dey!!

Mrs Badmus was in tears as she watches the unconscious form of her daughter. Dr Rotimi sighs and comforts her. "Don't worry. Feyi will be alright."

"B-But why?!" The woman starts screaming and wailing as though the girl had already died. Feyi groans as she struggles to get up. Her mother immediately rushes to her side and pulls her to her side.

"Why did you go out so late at night?!!" she yells. Feyi sighed. "Mummy you worry too much." she grumbles. "I am your mother and I am allowed."

Meanwhile, Chris was sitting in disbelief at his office as he stares at the TV. "This is impossible!! Who the hell got her shot?!" He may not like Feyi but he would never wish death on her.

"There may be another player out there that hates her." says Sophia, his PA. "Check the player database. I need to know who she recently played against. Perhaps it is someone I know."

She nods and heads over to her computer and begins to check the database. "The last match she had involved a midlane player named RoverGee."

Chris froze. "Oh shit....."

"You know him?"

Chris gulps. "He was our classmate. Jide Salami aka Baddo. Everyone was scared of that guy because he was a violent bastard. He forced Feyi to date him."

Sophia grimaced. "I hope he did not force himself on her." Chris sighs. "Even I do not know. That guy has clearly not forgotten the day Feyi dumped him."

"Chai!!"

"I...I failed her..."

His mind drifts back to their secondary school days. He remembers the first time he saw her and she approaching him with a cute smile on her face. He should not have treated her like that. But it is too late now. Or is it?

"I do not know where that guy is but I can help a bit to give her some justice."

"How so sir?"

"Giving a certain friend of mien a call."

Meanwhile, somewhere in Lagos, a group fo four boys were drinking their hearts out at a bar.

"I told you!! I told you that plan will be a success!!" says the short, fair one.

Their leader, the big muscular one smirks. "It is payback for what she did." he says. "That bitch should rot in hell."

"And best part? We also got Chris in trouble too!!" They all start laughing. "TWALE CHIEF!!" They all raise their Guinness bottles and toast.
