A whole new world

A dark clothed figure could be seen running on the rooftops. The city was blazing with blinding light. He suddenly stopped when he reached an old warehouse. The area was silent. Karl sat at the edge of the building and unzipped his backpack. He pulled out juice and started sipping.

Light was reflected in his golden eyes his thoughts unknown. He was waiting for something at the top of a building. His gaze penetrated through buildings as he observed people, though most of them were leaving for their homes.

Unbeknownst to him, very high in the sky he was being observed. After seeing that the area was safe, Lia descended in a flash. Surprisingly there were no cracks on the ground. Karl was focused on his survey that he couldn't sense her presence.

The beauty retracted her dark wings. 'He is indeed not familiar with this given how he can't sense me at all. Though I have to admit he has good combat skills.'

Karl turned his head as he sense a presence behind. He took a moment as he looked at Lia. She was a very beautiful woman and her pale skin added more charm to it. She wore a tight red dress that highlighted her gorgeous figure.

"You look more beautiful in that dress than our last 'meeting' which was quite 'wild' but exciting. We can do it again in the future right,.... right." He said excited. His words could be interpreted otherwise.

The cold beauty took a step forward and she was already near him. Lia looked down at the city. Karl was seated at the edge and unconsciously his eyes took a glimpse of her inner thighs but quickly shrugged it off.

"It's a beautiful city, isn't it." She muttered silently talking to no one in particular. The humans seemed peaceful doing their activities. Ignorance is a bliss.

"It's indeed beautiful, but I can't ignore the dangers in it." He said swinging his legs in the process. "I had no time to ask but, what was that yesterday." He asked. His gaze fixed on her gorgeous figure. She wasn't herself when they fought. He could completely deduce that as he could easily be crashed by her now.

Lia shifted her head and looked at him. He truly saved her life yesterday though she didn't remember how. But well I will now carry on my part of the deal. "That was a curse. A powerful one at that. It is not normal for me to be affected by curses but this one was strong. The stronger I get, that's how powerful it becomes. Am really curious how you managed to lift it through."

She said looking at him with curiosity. He couldn't really tell her about that, could he. Now that he knew she was a vampire, he didn't want to become her blood bank. I need to become stronger to survive this. He really hated feeling weak.

"Everyone has his or her secret you know. I really care about results and now that you are fine that's it. Ready to do your part of the deal." Karl said with a smile. The wind brushed his hair making him more charming.

Lia nodded slightly and snapped her fingers. They both disappeared. They appeared in what seemed to be a grand library. He stood in wonder. He was not able to react when a strange force engulfed him. This made him understand that this woman was no joke.

Books of various sizes were arranged in bookshelves. The library was very big as eyes could see. "What you asked for is all here, feel free to look out." Lia said and walked to a round table. The library was very neat. But what shocked him was that this place seemed ancient with strange engravings on the walls.

He walked randomly and picked two books. Thankfully talked about various races. He walked towards Lia and sat down. He didn't want to ask about her background if she didn't tell him at first. And so, he read his books.

There are many supernatural creatures on earth. Some are from the sky but these are very few. There are many races such as Vampires, Werewolves, Foxes, Witches, Gods, Elves, Phoenixs, Dragons, Espers, etc. Currently they are all at peace in the human world but some races have their home planets where they reside.

Though humans had Espers who had supernatural abilities that protected them, supernatural creatures were very powerful thus associations were created by humans to look out for talented individuals. With time some of them broke their mortal shackles and became more powerful.

These individuals could be counted on one hand. What Karl found out was that most of them disappeared from public view. Other races seemed far more superior as some had many powerhouses. The more he read the more excited he became. He couldn't wait to explore the world's and see what they had to offer.

He looked up at the crimson lady who seemed busy with her own business. He continued to read.
