Incorruptible Soul

Soon Leon found a new piece of leather armour floating in front of him.

Name: Squad Captain's Leather Chestpiece

Rank: Grey Stone

Quality: uncommon

Classification: Armour

Durability: 500/500

Effect: Constitution +3

Note: chest piece of squad captain. It has been through many battles and never once failed its wearer.

It didn't take Leon a second before he flung off his old poor quality armour and donned his new Uncommon quality one.

After retrieving the rest of his rewards, Leon headed off to the side of the temple to organise himself.

Ever since Leon reincarnated he had urgently been fighting, without having time to organise his thoughts

But first, before Leon thought of a plan, he first absorbed all the attribute crystals he had gotten.

After absorbing all the crystals, Leon finally took a look at his stats

[ Leon El'Jonson]

-Rank: Grey Stone

-Race: Human

-Innate trait: Incorruptible Soul

-Class: none

-Profession: none

-Title(s): none

- Status

Strength: 14.1 (13.1 +1)

Constitution: 15.2 (12.2 +3)

Agility: 10.7

Perception: 15.3

Looking at the stats in front of him, other than his agility and perception lagging behind a bit, Leon was rather satisfied.

When a goblin was killed, it would randomly drop a crystal of any attribute.

These crystals would only be able to increase the designated attribute by 0.1.

And to make matters worse, some crystals had what could only be described as terrible drop rates when compared to others.

Look at perception for example, despite slaying all those goblins Leon could only manage to get 3 perception crystals.

And the scary thing was that perception wasn't even the rarest of the attribute crystals. There were a whole bunch of hidden attributes that Leon had to worry about.

Thinking about the stress he would have to go through to get back to his old attributes, Leon could already feel a headache forming.

After checking his stats and getting familiar with his new strength, Leon finally sat down to set up a plan.

Leon had no knowledge he would be sent to the past, so he didn't have a solid plan on what he had to do. But that didn't mean he wasn't left with any ideas.

In his days in the new world, he had still heard some stories about how some legendary figures completed some ridiculous challenges, so he had some idea on how he was going to get at least somewhat stronger.

And most of that all came down to his innate trait.

Innate traits weren't exactly that common, with them only being found within roughly a tenth of the human population.

The benefits of these traits were that they often came with strange, inexplicable benefits that would benefit the owner.

But just having an innate trait didn't mean you were automatically strong.

An innate trait, whilst useful, if not used properly can leave you worse off than if you never had one at all

<Incorruptible Soul>

A trait that sounded truly powerful, but in actual fact, it really didn't do that much.

When it came to his innate trait, Leon could be said to have a true love-hate relationship.

Although this trait had saved his life multiple times, allowing him to resist various mind control and charming effects.

It was the same trait that prevented him from getting any decent classes.

Due to his decent talent and powerful sounding innate trait, Leon managed to pass the trials and join some of the powerful churches in <Haven>

The trait 'Incorruptible Soul' easily managed to get the attention of the higher ups in the various churches.

There was even a point in time that Leon was a highly sought after asset, contested and fought over by many churches

The ability to resist corruption and mind control would be an excellent addition to any clergy.

It's just that when the time came to convert his class, Leon had failed spectacularly.

[Your trait <Incorruptible Soul > resists the influence of God xxx]

That's what Leon heard anytime he tried to convert into any religious class.

Church of light, Church of earth.

Hell! Even in the religions of what could be considered evil gods, Leon was always greeted with the same notification.

Seeing that Leon couldn't even complete the simplest of class changes, the one known to be the easiest of all special classes, he was soon kicked out of churches.

At this point Leon had already chosen to progress down fighter type route, so it just was too late to change to any spell casting professions. And with Leon's shit luck, there was no way he could just stumble across any good hidden classes.

In the end, he was forced to settle down with the slightly better Knight class.

Over the years, Leon had always regretted that he never used his trait to its full potential.

Cursed items, deals with evil Gods, there were many ways that Leon could have tested the full ability of his trait.

But due to Leon's cowardly nature, he had steered clear from all those dangerous trials.

He had seen countless times how people with supposed strong wills or even treasures of mental fortitude had eventually been corrupted and fallen into nothing but a mindless, crazed husk.

But that was to be expected.

If It was so safe to do deals with evil gods, then wouldn't everyone be doing it?

But now things had changed.

He had been sent to the past.

Maybe before in his past life, he had been too chicken to even try dealing with such vile entities, but now Leon didn't care.

Simply put, Leon was desperate!

It was the kind of desperation that could only be had by a man that had seen the fall of his race.

He had fought his entire life as a mediocre soldier in the army and so he had been able to see and experience the constant struggles of the weak.

It was only after living for years on a battlefield where his life could be taken at any moment that he learned the real truth.
