Boss fight (1)

Seeing this, Jeff just laughed even harder.

"Cough! Cough! You've made your decision. I can only hope that, like me, you won't come to regret it at your grave!"

As Jeff watched them leave, his vision began to blur, and he felt the strength he prided himself on sapping away from his muscles.

'So this is it huh?' Thought Jeff in disbelief

'To die Like this, in such a beautiful world. A world practically made for me!'

'Sigh!'

In his last moments, Jeff was washed over by a wave of regrets, but soon this regret started to turn into rage.

'Leon you bastard! Such a cruel man can only rot in hell!'

As the poison spread, Jeff's mind grew hazier and hazier but his hate still remained.

'Leon… you'll definitely end up in hell, but it seems like I'll be going first. Don't worry, I'll wait for you,

you fucking bastard…'

These were the last thoughts in Jeff's mind as he drew his last breath and passed.

Soon, Jessica and Martin had managed to catch up to Leon and the rest.

But even so, they were still unsettled.

The words of Jeff still rang in their mind.

'It's me now, but who's to say it won't be you in the future?'

The reason they stuck so much is that, in their opinion, Jeff spoke the truth.

See, Leon was good, suspiciously good.

It's like he knew everything about this world before being transported here.

A man with an almost godly level of combat and knowledge didn't know how to heal them?

Even Jessica and Edward didn't believe that crap.

In their minds, Leon simply didn't think it was worth it.

He didn't think it was with it to save Jeff so he abandoned him.

Right now, it didn't matter much.

Jeff was an out and out asshole.

Brash, loud and arrogant.

But the problem came when he didn't think it would be worth saving them, then he would….

The thoughts of being left to die such a gruesome death alone in this strange world still sent chills down their spine.

Leon could feel the strange looks he was getting, but simply ignored them.

His thoughts were now occupied on the final stage of his plan..

The boss of the dungeon.

Normally, Leon would never have planned to deal with the boss at such an early stage, especially considering the small number of people he had brought with him.

But things were different now.

Due to the good luck of those two siblings, Leon now had a healer and if he added on his resistance potion truly felt it was a risk worth taking.

From speaking to the people that had cleared this dungeon in his past life, the final boss was said to be located deep within a pit.

His plan was simple.

He would go down there to make sure the boss was trapped and after he would drop the fire and burn it to death!

….

After long travel and a few more battles, the group had finally made it out of a cave and came into a new escape. As they entered, what could be described as a cavern. Only a few steps outside of the cave there was a giant pit .

The pit was large, roughly half the size of a football pitch and at least 20 metres deep.

You couldn't even see down the pit as countless layers of spider webbing could be seen covering the whole thing.

Countless small scratches of what could only be assigned to be small spiders could be heard.

"Gulp!"

Seeing this sight, the others were stunned.

Were they supposed to fight down there?

No matter how they looked at it, this didn't seem possible .

It was just as these thoughts were in everyone's mind that Leon turned to them.

"Now that we've cleared everything on the way here, we can go bring in everything we've gathered inside."

.....

After looking at his status panel, Leon nodded in satisfaction.

Everything was in order.

Leon and the rest had managed to drag in everything they had gathered earlier. Leon had now covered everything in the juice of the highly flammable fruits.

All it would take was the slightest spark to set the humongous pile of wood ablaze!

Holding a self-made torch in his hand, Leon quickly brought out his potion of resistance.

[Please set the potion to the resistance you wish to gain]

Leon smiled as he responded.

"Set the potion to both fire resistance and poison resistance"

[Warning! Setting additional resistances will be half the duration of the normal potion. Are you sure you want to continue?]

Leon didn't hesitate as he responded.

"Continue."

It was then that the potion in his hand flashed

Name: Lesser potion of Poison and Fire resistance

Description: Upon consumption, the potion grants the user both poison and fire resistance for up to 30 mins.

Leon could see the glowing syrupy liquid swirl with vial as it flashed in both green and red colours and now that the potion was set he all that was left to do was create the trap.

With his instructions, the others began to drop everything int the ravine.

Naturally, as these things fell some of them were caught onto the web, alerting the nearby spiders.

But before the spiders could even move, many pieces of flaming wood were dropped, instantly lighting everything ablaze.

It was stunning.

In mere seconds, the pit had already turned into a sea of fire.

Instantly, terrifying screeches the pain could be heard as the webbing and the countless spiders began to combust, falling to their death.

"SCREECH!!"

Suddenly, a devastating roar sounded out as a creature stirred amongst the waves of fire.

The sound alone was enough to cause the rest of the people with Leon to back away, as a giant beast could be stirring amongst the fire.

Leon could see countless red glowing eyes lock onto them with a burning hatred.

From the threat that Leon felt emanating from the creature, Leon knew what it was.

The Boss of this dungeon, The Broodmother

The behemoth let off an unsettling hiss as it locked onto Leon and the others, slowly crawling up the wall towards them.

Leon knew he couldn't stand still and watch, so after quickly chugging the resistance potion, Leon jumped down to meet the creature!

As soon as Leon downed the potion, he could feel a warm current of energy rush around his body.

With a crazed look in his eyes, Leon lept down into the pit, pointing his spear straight at the giant spider!

"Bang!"

With the added force of gravity, Leon's body smashed into the truck sized Broodmother with enough force to pick it off the wall and sending crashing back into the floor.

"Screech!"

The Broodmother let off wails of pain as she smashed into the ground.

But Just because the Broodmother was hurt, didn't mean Leon was safe.

His body could barely be considered superhuman so the impact of jumping 20 metres wasn't something he could just walk off.

Groggily, Leon slowly rose back to his feet, surrounding by a seemingly endless wave of fire.

For a second, Leon was so disorientated that he could barely even see in front of him.

It was then his body was overcome by a golden wave of light and Leon quickly felt himself recovering to his peak strength.

Feeling this sensation, Leon couldn't help but smile.

'She catches on quite quickly'

But before Leon could even thank Lucy for anything, his body suddenly shivered.

The beam of golden light had stuck out like a sore thumb, allowing the gigantic spider to lock onto him.

Suddenly, the flames swirled as the spear-like leg of the Broodmother spider shot out at him.

Leon didn't even bother trying to block an attack from such a mighty beast and instead just rolled out of the way.

Quickly getting back up to his feet, Leon quickly flashed up towards the creature, dashing between the spider's many legs until he arrived on top of the beast.

Now in an advantageous position, Leon thrust down his spear.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Countless attacks rained down on the Broodmother and all with Leon's full force behind them. The attacks continued until various small cracks could even be seen forming on the Broodmother's exoskeleton

But the Broodmother wouldn't just sit still as Leon began to break its defences.

It let out a terrifying shriek as its body shook, trying to displace Leon, but Leon gripped on tightly, not once stopping his brutal rain of attacks.

Eventually, the creature couldn't take it anymore and just as Leon was about to break its defence, the Broodmother madly slammed its body into the wall, causing Leon to be flung off the creature.

"Screech!"

Suddenly, The Broodmother's mad howl sounded out throughout the cave, but different from before, this one seemed to get a response of hundreds of screeches!

Soon enough, countless spiders could be seen falling from the sky and all in the direction of Leon!

Leon didn't panic and instead, with the masterful use of his spear, managed to clear out the first two waves of attacking spiders.

Leon was relentless, massacring his way through the attacking spiders, but in the end that wasn't enough.

The swarm of spiders was seemingly endless, and Leon could slowly feel himself being overwhelmed!

The Broodmother could also see the overwhelmed state of Leon and rapidly approached.

But before it could get close, countless spears began raining from the sky onto its body

"Bang! Bang!"

If you looked up, you could see Both Lucas and Martin at the edge of the ravine, launching homemade throwing spears at the Broodmother, forcing it to retreat backwards.

But just because the Broodmother was being occupied, didn't mean that Leon was in the clear.

On the contrary, things were only getting worse!

"Crunch!"

Suddenly, the sickening sound of tearing flesh could be heard as a spider jumped onto Leon's back, biting him and injecting its poisonous toxins.

Eventually, more and more spiders latched onto him until he was covered by the spiders gnawing away at his flesh.

Leon didn't hesitate as he dropped onto the ground as he rolled on the floor, smothering the spiders in the nearby flames.

The sickening stench of burnt flesh assaulted Leon's nose as the spiders began to drop off his body like flies.

But even then, some refused to give up and remained latched onto his body in a desperate effort to bring him down.

Now Furious Leon stood up, throwing the spiders from his back and trampling them with his feet.

But suddenly, as all this was happening, Leon's mind screamed. Leon didn't even think as he raised a spear to his head.

"Bang!"

A black spider leg shot out, smacking him in the face and sending Leon flying towards the floor.

Before Leon could even realise what was going on, two giant pincer-like jaws could be seen biting towards his head.

At the last second, Leon grabbed these pincers and stopped his head from being crushed.

But even though Leon managed to avoid death this time, things weren't looking good.

In front of such a large beast, Leon's strength was severely lacking and Leon could even slowly feel himself being overwhelmed by the sheer power of the creature.

But just as Leon thought he was going to be forced to sacrifice his arm, he heard a sound

"Sphhlt! Sphhlt! Sphhlt!"

Just then, three arrows all shot out, piercing the Broodmother's many eyes, causing it to shriek out in pain.

Looking in towards the origin of the arrows, Leon could see Jessica looking back down at him with a confident smile on her face.
