Chapter 11

Savannah doesn't leave my side the whole night. I keep thinking about what she said. If she wants something from me she will have to behave like herself, and it won't even be sure I'll give it to her, whatever she asks. May it be even only a pen.

My eyes try to open, but the sunlight hurts. Geez, why the fuck is it so bright? I see a blue ceiling, one that is definitely not mine. I'm alone in a room I don't recognize. I sit up and look around. Everything's blue, dark blue. The ceiling is covered in stars, put exactly in the shape of constellations. I recognize a few. The room's quite simple. The bed I'm in is against a wall in the middle. In front of me there's a wardrobe with a mirror. I look at myself and damn, I look like a mess. I'm in an oversized hoodie, with just knickers and socks that reach my knee. On my left there's a desk and just above it there's a window that occupies almost the whole wall. The white blinds are half up, outside there are a few trees and a road full of identical houses. By the height I assume I'm on the first floor. On my right there's a door and a chest of drawers with a few personal things on it and a few posters, beside them there's a door. Why on Earth am I here? I was at a party Savannah dared me to go, she said that I had to return the dare. I remember calling my mom, telling her I was going to be late. I check my phone and I reread the texts I sent mom. I told her I was going to sleep over to the girl that looked like a boy…

"Gooooood morning princess." A too happy Savannah comes in with a portable table and breakfast.

"Why are you calling me princess? I'm not your princess. Give mama the food though." She chuckles, sits in front of me and we eat.

"So, what happened?" I ask.

"You don't remember? Because I remember more than well." She answers, winking. My eyes widen and I go pale. She laughs.

"Just joking, we didn't. Thought you did show your wild side, everyone loves you."

"By wild side you mean what?"

"Oh, dancing and singing on tables, doing stupid stuff."

"OH FUCK." I stand up as fast as I can. "I really need to get home. Where's my dress?"

"At Ava's."

"Why?"

"She gave you a change for the party, I thought it was a shame if you ruined it. You look good in it."

"Oh."

"You want some trousers?"

"Yes please." She takes out from her wardrobe large sweatpants and gives them to me. I put them on as fast as I can.

"Nothing happened between us, right?"

"Surprised you actually don't remember."

"Why, what happened?"

"Nothing, don't worry. I made you stay by my side but I didn't do anything. I wouldn't hit on you when you were too busy being the life of the party. And even if you weren't I wouldn't have done it if you were in that state, if I knew."

"Thanks."

"How do you not remember anyway?"

"Uhm, I don't know, sometimes I just forget parts of the day randomly. Especially when I'm over exited or extremely mad."

"Ok then, I'll make a mental note."

"Well, thank you for everything but I really have to go, bye!"

I run out the door, then stop, turn around and ask Savannah "Where's Ava's house?"

She chuckles then answers "I'll drive you there."

"No, it's fine, you can just give me her address."

"Come on." She says, getting her keys, ruffling my hair and going down the stairs. I follow her while tying my hair up in a messy bun. We get in the car. The ride is quite silent but not embarrassing, except my embarrassment for last night. Savannah's smile never leaves her face. Again, she looks just blissed. She's fucking stunning like this. When we arrive at Ava's house we ring the doorbell. Jane opens the door, dressed in a bathrobe. "Oh, the beauty and the beast, how can I help you?" she says in an irritated tone.

"What's your problem?" I say. She looks surprised by my response. Why didn't I stick up for myself since the beginning? "I want my dress back."

"Ava, where's Rose's dress?" she screams looking over her shoulder. She then turns around when the girl screams "Coming!" back. I look down, Ava takes a second to come so we're all there looking at each other in silence. I feel Savannah's body heat burn against my skin. She's right behind me, pressing lightly into me.

"Here." Ava says, giving me the dress while smiling. It seems genuine, what's wrong with her?

"Sooooo, how was the party?" she asks me.

"She doesn't remember much." Savannah answers for me.

"Mmh, shame. Everyone really liked you. How though?"

"Long story." I answer.

"It looked like you two had fun." Savannah says, amusement in her voice.

"Uhm...maybe?" She smiles, shyly. "Sav, later you have to tell me what happened at your place." she winks.

"Nothing really."

"Yeah yeah, I know you. Go have fun. Bye." She closes the door with way too much enthusiasm. Then we hear a smash from the inside. Savannah and I walk back to her car giggling.

"I'll give you a ride." she says.

"No, I'm fine thank you."

"But I want to give you a ride and I won't take no for an answer." she says in a whiny voice.

"Ugh, fine. So what happened? Like, all of it."

"We went to the dance, we danced, even a slow one," she wriggles her eyebrows. "I dared you to come to the party, you went wild, I didn't like it so I brought you home about an hour after getting there, we watched a movie, you cuddled into me, which I have to say it was cute, like really cute, I liked it. Then you fell asleep."

"Oh. Oh God."

"What?"

"I cuddled into you."

"So? I told you I liked it."

"Yeah, but then people will tease me because they'll think even more that I like you, when I don't."

"Mmh. I won't tell anyone."

"You took care of me though..."

"Yeah."

"Thanks."
