Lucas blankly stared at Liliana, wishing that her previous statement didn't hold any important meaning. He would be very embarrassed if he actually wore his heart on the sleeve from the past few days.
Liliana pursed her lips, unable to reply to Lucas immediately. Only now did she wonder whether it was good to bring up such a topic?
Wouldn't it seem as if she was paying more attention to him than necessary?
"Well... I don't mean anything. It's just I have a feeling that you seem out of sorts. Especially after Mr. Ethan started working here."
In the end, Liliana decided to be truthful. She thought that it was better to be direct rather than hiding it anymore. Not after she had brought it up.
Hearing Liliana's words, Lucas' smile faded slightly. He shifted his gaze from her, now looking back at the little ball of fluff who was still happily drinking the milk.
