I retire!

The pill was quickly handed over to her and she began to grind it finely. Then she poured it into the cup and added some warm water. After string it for a while she raised the boys head before she began to help him drink the aqueous pill. Pills in this world were expensive, even a heat rejuvenating pill that only increased your body temperature was expensive.

But it could be used as a double-edged sword even though it didn't do much. She put him down and quickly left to change. She dried her hair with a towel and made her way back to the room the little boy was in. She sat on the bed and placed the back of her hand on his forehead, his body temperature had been stabilised.

She decided to carry on with her original goal, buying a pet. What pet should she get?

She questioned herself, maybe she should get two? She quickly made her way to her sedan carriage. She put on her hood and sat quietly, she yawned slightly before finding herself drifting to sleep.

It wasn't very long before she was woken up with a jolt. Her sedan had been violently dropped and there was a sound of chaotic screaming. One thing passed her mind.

Assassins.

Liu Lian had no fighting skills what so ever. She quickly scrambled up and looked out, her guards were fighting off the assassins, she had to run. Worst case scenario they had an archer, so she had to run the long way. She couldn't run for a very long time, this was the body of a recently poisoned young girl!

Damn! How did buying a pet become such a dangerous activity!?

It was now or never, she quickly bolted when she was sure the assassins in front of her were occupied. Running as quickly as she could into the forest and as she expected an arrow shot past her ear and she gulped but refused to look back. This means they had spotted her, they would come after her.

She panted as she pushed herself, the shoes she was wearing were not fit for running, embroidered shoes. Her clothes were also heavy making her hot and bothered, she also wasn't used to running.

Quickly dashing through the trees she opted to find a place to hide, assassins worked best in places like these she really didn't have the luxury of resting.

She groaned in annoyance, why was the life of such a measly little girl so unlucky!?

Looking around urgently as she ran she heard falling water and her mood immediately brightened. If this situation was as cliche as she thought then there would definitely be a cave behind the waterfall!

She immediately ran towards the waterfall but was stupefied when she realised that she had to climb up the waterfall to get to the cave. She groaned in frustration, she was a normal human, how could she get up there without dying!?

But she had to do it!

She grit her teeth and stepped under the freezing cold waterfall weighing down on her. She struggled to keep standing and grabbed onto the giant rock to push herself up. Slowly but surely she made her way up the waterfall and collapsed at the cave entrance.

Her lips were blue and she shivered. Her face was wet and pale making her look miserable. She noticed light pouring in from inside the cave approaching her. She noticed a pair of feet, but her consciousness slipped away. If this was what it was like to live the life of this girl, then she retires!
