Chapter 14: The Preaching and The Truth.

It's been a few days, and the Gantz haven't recalled the Gantz fighters. It's as if it was waiting and collecting more people to become Gantz fighters.

On the other hand, Kurono already found a part time job. He lucked by getting hired by a delivery company. When he applied there, the hiring manager at that time was a woman. She looked at his face, and directly hired him.

He was really lucky!

In regards to his job, his tasks are loading and unloading packages. His wages would be 1200 yen per hour, while his working time is four hours per day, and 24 hours per week.

With him having his own apartment, it was enough wages for him to accommodate the living expenses for both him and Kishimoto.

The only downside is that he needed to travel using bicycle for fourty to fifty minutes just to reach the workplace. However, that was not a problem for him with the Gantz suit.

Today, Kurono was going home late. On the way home, he decided to buy some Takoyaki. He wanted to eat it together with Kishimoto. However, after buying those foods and traveling some distance away, he heard a ringing inside his head.

"Oh shit! Why of all time, it needed to be today? Come on, Kishimoto haven't eaten the Takoyaki."

Kurono then cycled as fast as he can. Suddenly, a car appeared at the junction of the roads, and it was speeding very fast. It gunned and crushed Kurono's bicycle. At the last moment, he jumped away while holding the Takoyaki close to his chest.

Screech!!

The car stopped after some meters away. Quickly, a middle aged man come out of the car, and hurriedly looked back with a pale face.

He checked at the back, but only found a wrecked bike on the roads. The owner of the bicycle seemed to disappear into thin air.

Inside the Gantz room, Kurono unexpectedly appeared while still holding onto the Takoyaki. As he looked around, he saw many new faces. Right now, there a nine people inside, not including Kurono himself.

"You may ask me any questions you have." said a monk who seems to have much confidence in his knowledge. "I will answer your questions within the limit of my knowledge."

A guy who was wearing a black hat, and a glass asked, "Where are we right now? Someone's house?"

"To put it simply, this is the testing place after death, to see if we are fit to continue on to paradise." answered the monk with a calm face.

"...I don't understand."

"Those who will live in paradise, and those who will fall into eternal damnation, when all are dead, they will gather in one place, and this place is where their fates are decided."

Kurono almost laughed out loud when he heard the monk preach. Even after death, this monk still continue to preach his idea. Well, he couldn't blame him for that. That's his own beliefs.

On the other hand, he was curious to see that a girl has been staring at him, right from the moment he come into the room.

Sei Sakuraoka!

This is the girl that the past Kurono have sex with. Kurono seems to be the type of boy that the girl liked most.

Not long later, Kato appeared in the room.

"Here's another one."

"Come, you can ask any questions and I'll answer you." The monk directly allowed Kato to ask some questions.

"Huh? Question?" Kato who just appeared was momentarily rendered speechless. Turning around, he saw Kurono was trying hard to hold his laughter. "Kei-chan, what's going on?"

"Ah...ehem. These guys arrived here earlier than me." Kurono replied after calming himself down from the desire to laugh at the monk.

Hojo appeared next, after that the dog, and then 'Sadako'. A moment later, Kishimoto appeared in her pajamas. She looked around, and smiled brightly after she saw Kurono.

Kishimoto breathed in relief and approached Kurono. "I was worried when you didn't come back after the sound ringing."

"I was already on the way home." Kurono smiled at her and handed the foods. "I bought it on the way back. You can eat it first."

"Ah, thank you." Kishimoto looked happy when she received the foods. Seeing that Kato and Hojo were looking at her, she looked at the foods then looked back at them. After that, she looked at Kurono. "Um... should we share the foods with them?"

"Sure. Let's eat together then." answered Kurono. He bought more than enough for the two of them. So, he doesn't mind sharing some with the others.

While waiting for that grandmother grandson duo, Kurono's group at the Takoyaki that he brought in. Not long after that, Ryota and his grandmother also appeared in the room. They then joined Kurono's group.

A weird scenery then appeared in the Gantz Room. One group was eating happily, while the other was in the middle of getting a preaching from the monk.

The listening group showed a look of jealousy as they looked at the eating group. Seeing this the monk preached, "Don't be mislead. Those who eat succumbed to the test of this place."

Kato frowned when he heard the monk. He stood up and said, "I don't really know why do you think that this place is a testing place to decide whether we go to hell or heaven, and I don't mind you teaching them to chant Buddhist prayers. However, I'm sure this place is not testing place to go to hell or heaven. Nobody here is dead. We are all alive."

His words silenced everyone in the room. He added, "All of us were gathered here to undertake a hunt. We all are alive, but we won't survive if we don't cooperate with each other."

The monk looked deeply at Kato, and then sighed. "I can understand that you are confused given our current circumstances."

"Hahaha...uhuk uhuk." As Kurono laughed at the monk, he choked on the Takoyaki that he ate, forcing him to cough.

"Hei, are you alright?" Kishimoto said worriedly.

"Uf. I'm okay. I'm going to wash up for a bit." Kurono stood up and headed towards the room with the sink.

As he washed up, he heard someone walk in. Looking to the side, he saw Lara Croft...No. He saw Sakuraoka walking in. She walked and reached the door beside the sink and asked, "Is this a bathroom?"

"I'm not sure. That room has always been locked."

"Ah, you are correct. It's locked." She was a bit surprised that Kurono knew the room was locked. He even said 'always been'. Have he been here before?

After that, Sakuraoka waited at the side while Kurono washed his face.

"Er...do you want to use the sink?"

"No not really."

"...then, I'll head out first?"

"Actually...I think, you are kinda cute."

"I...see..." Kurono was now sure, this is the reason the past Kurono fall for this girl. She used a compliment to attack the wounded heart of the boy. Adding to it, she have a sweet voice, and nice figure.

"Maybe...I have a crush on you the first time I saw you."

Aw man! This girl is attacking me directly, thought Kurono. His heart was now starting to beat the rhythm of romance.

Kurono almost staggered to the side, surprising the tall girl.

"So, I am getting rejected?"

"I already have a girlfriend."

"I can see that. I don't mind though."

"...huh!?"

"As long as you don't reject me. Or, do you think I'm not pretty?"

"No no no. You look beautiful."

"Thank you. Then, will you accept me?"

"This is too sudden."

"I know."

"I will consider about it."

The girl looked at Kurono in surprise. A smile appeared on her face. "Then, I'll be waiting."

After that, she left Kurono alone. Kurono sighed. My heart is weak against woman's attack!

"..." Kurono was irritated that Rose keep on commenting his bad side. "You know Rose, I might be starting to lust over you."

"May I ask you something?" A glasses man found himself not believing the monk after he looked outside the room.

Once more, the monk win the argument. However, the glasses guy still not feeling convinced. The monk, Muso Tokugawa warned, "You should keep chanting the prayers."

Kato looked at the monk in annoyance. This bald donkey will cause the death of everyone. How should I convince the rest to believe us? Suddenly, an idea appeared in his mind. It was about time the Gantz make an announcement.

Kato then stood up and approached the ball. "Guys, that ball will soon play a song and announce the current situation. It will play the radio aerobics theme song."

"Man, stop being nosey. Go away." the guy with the black hat, whose nickname was Konta scolded Kato.

His friend, Tomao also glared while saying, "I see guys like this all the time on the train. Such a meddle some guy needed some ass whooping."

"Forget about him. Continue the prayers." Tokugawa, the monk calmed them down.

Suddenly, the radio aerobics theme song played. This caused the guys who scolded Kato felt embarrassed.

Kato looked at the monk and said, "Look like I now what's going to happen better than you do."

Muso Tokugawa squinted his eyes as he looked at Kato.

At the same time, the usual sentence appeared in the black ball.

"It said your lives has ended."

"How you use you new lives is entirely up to me? Who is 'me'?"

"Hey the words is changing."

"Defeat this person? Rowdy Alien and Grumpy Alien? What's that?"

"It's some kind of general or something?"

Everyone were curious after experiencing death. That's why they are almost willing to believe any information presented to them. Seeing the information on the Gantz ball caused them to ponder even more about their current situation.

Kiyoshi Miyafuji, the skinny guy with glasses turned to look at Kato, and said, "What happened is the same like what you said. Who are you?"

"It's not just me. Everyone on this side have all been here before. So, we know how this thing works a bit more than you do." answered Kato, while pointing his hand towards the people that have been into Gantz Room before.

The newcomers looked at the guys that Kato pointed, and saw that all of them didn't show any clueless look, and way more relaxed then them. This made some of the newcomers start to believe what Kato just said.
