Ch. 7 Joy?

"You don't know just how much I hate the fucking sand," Sylas said as they made their way through the harbor of Sunspear.

"I hope you like the water better, my lord." Said Dareon

"Stop being so serious, being close to Oberyn made me not be able to stand someone serious, it gets boring quickly," Sylas said while dismounting his horse. "Old man, do you know any galleys going to Feakridge?" He asked a man that was directing some people who helped unload boats.

"Perh-" He was cut short as Dareon threw him a silver stag. "Yes, there is one that's going to trade to Skyreach, it's that one, the one with orange sails." The man said while pointing to a galley that was getting ready to set sail. "Thanks." Said Sylas while moving towards the galley.

Five days later, they were able to get down from the galley and followed the caravan for a few days till they got to Skyreach, where Dareon and Sylas bought horses in the city outside of the castle of Skyreach.

"Where to now, my lord? I hope to not see more sand" Dareon said with a smirk on his face.

"Good enough, I guess, you are still too stiff of a man, we are Dornish, act like one. We are going to the river, I've got to get something and test other things" Sylas said with a smile on his face.

The two riders moved swiftly and ended up on the mouth of the river, where Sylas said to Dareon to get down off his horse.

"Alright, Dareon, we'll try something, have you heard about Mother Rhoyne?" Sylas asked while looking at his eyes.

"Of course, my lord, I grew up with stories about Princess Nymeria and her ten thousand ships." He said while looking at the river. "The Rhoynar, hail from the river Rhoyne, famous water mages and spearmen"

"Have you heard about 'Dragon Dreams'? Sylas said while getting some water from the river in a leather canteen.

"It's said that the Targaryen had some prophetic dreams, I think…" Dareon said with a low voice.

"Spot on, now, if I told you that I had a dream where I met a certain woman who said to me that the rivers and water itself will love me, what would you say?" Sylas said with a smile on his face.

"I… wouldn't know how to answer such a question, my lord '' He answered honestly. "But I believe in you, my lord" He convinced himself, not completely, but at least he was able to say those words.

"All right, good enough, come here," Sylas said as he motioned Dareon to soak his feet in the river, just like him. "Good, now, cut open your palm." He said without any problem.

Dareon doubted for a second but chose to believe, grabbed his dagger, and cut his palm open. Sylas took away his dagger and did the same.

"Look at your palm," Sylas said, extending his hand. "Drink my blood and you'll be my first knight, this is no black magic, but it will make you not betray me" Seriousness overtook Dareon, but again, after a second of doubt, he grabbed Sylas' hand and drank some of the blood that was dripping out of it.

'Blood binding' Sylas said in his mind, and suddenly, blue particles started to leak from both of the men's hands and the wounds started to close as water from the river started flowing out of the canteen that Sylas was holding with his other hand. 'How do I give him a skill? Give skill Swordsmanship? Grant Swordsmanship to Dareon? Tsk, I need some instructions for the system, I'm too dumb for this shit. Inspect' thought Sylas.

Dareon was completely amazed, as he saw the blue particles and the water of the river dance in the air, climbing towards our hands. "My lord!" he said, but then he stepped back and reacted fast at a sword coming for his head.

"Even your reaction speed has been improved," Sylas said with a smile, sheathing his sword.

Dareon kneeled and yelled "Thank you, my lord! I'll never fail you! I promise you!"

"Alright, I trust you, get some water from the river and keep it in a canteen that you don't use, the water of the river can heal your injuries, from now on, you are my champion, and probably a champion of Mother Rhoyne, although I'm not quite sure," Sylas said while refilling his canteen as the water was used a bit to heal his injury.

Dareon started collecting water in three other leather canteens to maintain on his horse, then the two men mounted their horses and departed to their objective.

"My lord, may I know why we are here?" Dareon said as we laid our small tents at the side of the road leading to The Tower of Joy.

"I've gotten a message saying that the reason why Robert's rebellion is in The Tower of Joy, and a small group of northerners are coming to retrieve Lyanna Stark," Sylas said as he blew the fire so that it would grow.

"Lyanna Stark… Shouldn't we go there? If we get her Prince Oberyn…"

"The rebellion has ended, we can't concern ourselves with what happened to Elia Martell, plus, Lyanna is innocent of whatever shit show Robert did, we just give our condolences and help in whatever we can, as for Lyanna, she's just a victim, nothing more," Sylas said slowly while sitting on a small wooden log.

"I've heard that Lady Lyanna was kidnapped and raped by Prince Rhaegar," Dareon said with a sour face.

"I don't think it was kidnapping, but rape might be possible, think things slowly, who is Lyanna's betrothed? In Harrenhal, who was the lady that looked at Rhaegar all the tourney? Things just add up, I think they might've eloped together and the stupid Prince wasn't able to foresee that his father, a mad bastard, would burn alive the Starks" Sylas said softly.

"So the war was the king's fault?" Dareon asked, surprised.

"Robert would've just dueled Rhaegar to death, and the king would've made him a traitor to the crown, Eddard Stark and Jon Arryn would've rebelled as well, and the only thing that could've stopped this war would've been non-power hungry bastards trying to appease a mad bastard"

Dareon and Sylas waited for a week, training Dareon's newfound abilities, they trained themselves as Sylas told him that they would face a dangerous foe.

"Ser, just now at least seven knights went towards the tower, should we follow them?" Dareon yelled outside of Sylas's tent.

"Alright, get everything, we follow them," Sylas said while stretching out.
