Chapter 31 - Davos.

"My Lord, where do you want to go now?" asked Elric shortly after they left Tobho's Shop.

"You've been in town the longest Elric, you tell me, is there anywhere else we could go?" Arthur spoke.

"There's the Sept of Baelor, but I highly doubt that would draw your attention, there's the Dragonpit, but now it's just ruins of what was once home to the Dragons Targaryens." Elric spoke.

"Nah, let's go back to the Bar." Spoke Arthur.

"Right"

Passing blacksmiths working in open forges, free riders haggling over the prices of chain mail, and grizzled blacksmiths selling old blades and razors from their wagons, the farther down they went, the smaller the buildings, if before he had any doubt that Tobho Mott was the best blacksmith in King's Landing, now not anymore, because the difference between these buildings compared to Tobho's was clear, thus demonstrating how superior he was over the others.

A few minutes' walk and then they were back in Smiling Boar, and without delay, they entered the bar again.

The moment he opened the door, Arthur was attacked by two extremely cute creatures, Fenrir and Hela.

"Did you miss me? Hahaha" said Arthur smiling, as he bent down to pet the two puppies.

"Arth, you were quick." Rhoslyn spoke with a smile.

"Yes, I only dealt with the sword, tomorrow when I go to get it I will talk to Tobho if he would like to join us."

"So? What will become of the sword? Will it melt and make a new weapon or will you just keep the blade and change the rest?" Astrid asked curiously.

"I decided with the help of Elric and Tobho to preserve the blade and change only the rest." Said Elric with a smile.

"A good decision." Astrid replied, nodding her head in affirmation.

"What do we do now? I can't stand being stuck in this fucking bar anymore." Said Sigurd, who, oddly enough, was still munching on a chicken.

"Damn, are you a bottomless bag?" asked Arthur.

"I'm in the growth phase!" replied Sigurd.

"Only if you go sideways, but answering your question, I'm just waiting for Kevin and Perseus to return, if Davos is in town I'll talk to him, if he's not, we'll stay here until I get the sword, I don't want to draw attention, and you have an innate ability to cause discord." Arthur spoke.

"By the way Elric, I imagine you've noticed." Arthur said, glancing at Elric from the corner of his eye.

"I noticed my lord, my men are already following them." replied Elric with a smile.

"What are you talking about?" asked Rhoslyn.

"There's been some people watching us since we entered Tobho's store, at first I thought they were just guards or something, but they still continued to follow us, luckily they stopped a little before we got here." Arthur spoke.

"I assume that Tobho's shop is always being monitored, after all, to hire your services or buy any of your pieces, you have to have a good amount of money." Arthur spoke.

"This is true, places of large movement of money or important people are being constantly monitored by some people, such as, for example, the Spider birds, spies of Tywin Lannister and the Queen of Thorns, Olenna Tyrell." Elric spoke.

"And whose do you think these are that followed us?" asked Arthur.

"I was able to identify one of them at the time, it was a child, so I assume it is one of the Spider's birds." Elric spoke.

"Okay, anyway, tell your men to be on the lookout, better safe than sorry." Arthur spoke.

"It's done my lord." replied Elric.

Nodding to Elric, Arthur went back to playing with Fenrir and Hela, but it didn't last long as, a few minutes later, the tavern door opened.

"We're back" Kevin said.

"Heavens, this town stinks of shit." Kevin said, looking disgusted.

"So? Did you manage to find Davos?" asked Arthur.

"We found him, I told you that you had a proposal for him, and he told us he can only wait until the end of the night as he needs to go to Lannisport." Perseus spoke, who was right behind Kevin.

"Okay, I'll go now then, since you now know the way, let's go" Arthur said, putting Hela on the ground, got up and headed towards the door, with Elric following him.

"Elric, stay here, enjoy and help Rhoslyn understand what she will be responsible for." Arthur spoke.

"Yes, my Lord." Elric spoke.

"We will."

After leaving the Grinning Boar, Arthur put on a hood and soon the three returned to the Street of Steel and made their way to Fishmonger's Square.

"What happened to the sword? Did you manage to find the Blacksmith?" asked Kevin.

"Yes, I left the sword with him, he says it will be ready tomorrow." replied Arthur.

"Well, the faster we get out of here the better." Kevin spoke.

"Don't like it here Kevin?" Arthur asked with a smile.

"Definitely not, apart from the constant smell of shit, I feel that someone's always watching, even though I know there is no one, it's as if here each one tries to use the other." Kevin said.

"That's pretty much it. Everyone wants a slice of this kingdom, even more so now that the King's relationship with Tywin Lannister is in shambles. I don't give Tywin much time to abdicate as the King's hand, and when that time comes, good things won't happen," said Arthur with a serious expression.

Soon they arrived at Fishmonger's Square which was still crowded with people, not only were people still there, the smell of manure and fish attacked everyone's nose.

Arthur couldn't wait to get out of this sewer, every second in this place, his senses were deteriorating.

Passing through the gate of the city wall, they returned to the place they had arrived at this morning.

"It's right here Arthur" Perseus said, heading towards the docks.

Passing by several ships, the three arrived at a ship with black sails.

"We're here." Perseus spoke pointing to the ship with black sails.

"Okay, would you rather go with me or wait here?" asked Arthur.

"We'll stay here!" Kevin replied quickly, looking in a specific direction.

Following Kevin's gaze, Arthur discovered why he wanted to stay here, working at a fish stall, was a blonde woman with beautiful blue eyes.

"Okay, don't make a fuss." Said Arthur, heading towards the ship.

Entering the boat, Arthur saw a man hugging a woman who was holding a baby in her arms, and two other children were playing on the deck.

"Knock Knock" said Arthur.

The man quickly released the woman and placed them behind him.

"How can I help Ser..?" asked the Man.

"I'm no Ser, but you can call me Arthur"

The moment he listened, the man's face softened.

"Oh right, I'm sorry for my posture, you can't trust many people in this town, my name is Davos, this is my wife Marya, and these are my children, Dale, Allard, and baby Matthos." Davos spoke with a smile.

Davos is a thin man with brown eyes and an ordinary face weathered by the elements, his beard and hair are brown and somewhat thin. Marya is a little chubby, with sagging breasts and a gentle smile.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, indeed, a very beautiful family." Arthur spoke with a smile.

"Hahaha, thank you, come, let's go to my cabin" Davos said, giving Marya a peck, and then he was on his way inside the boat.

"Excuse me." Arthur spoke to Marya.

Arriving at the captain's cabin, Davos quickly settled into his chair.

"Sit down" Davos said, pointing to a chair in front of him.

"Thanks." replied Arthur, as he sat down.

"Tell me Arthur, how can I help you?" asked Davos.

"Getting straight to the point, I want you to work for me." Arthur spoke.

"Before you ask me to work for you, I have to know who I'm talking to." Davos spoke.

Hearing Davos' reply, Arthur lifted a smile.

"I understand..."

"My name is Arthur Snow, I am the bastard son of Lord Rickard Stark and Jaenara of the city of Lys." Arthur spoke, as he took off the hood that hid it, showing his hair, with roots in black and the rest in platinum, his violet and gray eyes looked deeply at Davos.

The moment Arthur took off his hood, Davos held his breath for a few seconds.

"Boy, remind me never to let you near my wife, or I might be single again, Hahahaha, but who knew Wolf of blood, you have Valyrian traits, when I traveled to the free city of Lys, I came across several people with Valyrian traits, but for some reason, your traits seem stronger to me, but at the same time no, Stark blood with Valyrian blood, how unusual is that..." Davos said.

"Yeah, maybe I'll be the first" said Arthur.

"But tell me boy, what do I get by becoming your subordinate, if it's something I like, you can be sure I'll pledge allegiance to you right now, maybe I might be sounding a little desperate, but I've got a wife and three kids to feed, I earn a good amount doing smuggling, but much of it is spent on maintaining the boat and buying new goods, many pirates are sailing these waters, and I've already had losses..." said Davos.

"I see, I seem to have come at a good time so my benefits are as follows, I will buy you a house in White Harbor, I will have my father send a letter to the Manderlys so that you can work for him for awhile, apart from the money whatever you earn working for the Manderlys, I will pay you 50 gold dragons, for the moment I will not need your services, but in the future I will." Arthur spoke.

"Can I talk to my wife first Arthur?" asked Davos.

"Sure."

"I'll be right back." Said Davos, leaving the cabin.

About five minutes later, Davos returns to the cabin with a smile on his face.

"And then?" asked Arthur.

"I, Davos of Flea Bottom, pledge my allegiance to you, Arthur Snow, for now and forevermore, my lord." Davos spoke.

I searched and didn't find any information on the birth of Davos' children, only Devan (born 287 AC), Stannis (born 289 AC or 290 AC) and Steffon (born 293 AC).

With that I made Dale about 5 and Allard 4, and Matthos a baby in arms, I hope you understand.
