32. Combat test (V) Day two

Audrey and I woke up together the next morning, went for a quick run and had breakfast at the cafeteria. After some rest it was time to go to the general training arena

{09:00 At the general training hall}

(Bellatrix's POV)

"The first match of the day will be Chris Anders from weaponry class versus Jeffrey Barn also from weaponry class." The two boys who were to fight both climbed the stage as the referee/instructor called

I remembered the both of them from yesterday, they both lost their first matches which means they only had eight more chances or matches to decide if they stayed in the tournament

Chris Anders wielded a sword while the other guy Jeffrey wielded a battle axe, which was kind of like my Labrys, only a little different

"You know the drill, get your opponent out of the red circle however you can. And without any further ado, let day two of the combat test Begin!" The instructor shouted

Chris tightened his grip on his spear, keeping his eyes on Jeffrey, With a loud yell, Jeffrey charged towards Chris, swinging his battle axe in a wide arc. Predicting his move, Chris quickly stepped to the side, attempting to thrust his spear towards Jeffrey's stomach. Jeffrey reacted just in time, blocking Chris's spear with his axe, creating a loud clang as their weapons met.

Their weapons continued to clash against each other as non of them were willing to loose this match.

Taking advantage of the strength of his previous move, Chris spun around, swinging his spear in a sweeping motion towards Jeffrey. Ducking just in time, Jeffrey narrowly avoided the attack and immediately retaliated with a powerful strike. Chris, using the shaft of his spear, managed to deflect the blow, feeling the impact of the blow in his arms.

Spotting an opening, Chris then quickly striked at Jeffrey's chest. Jeffrey reacted by sidestepping and countering with a low sweep of his battle axe. Using his great speed Chris leapt over the swinging axe, landing safely behind Jeffrey.

Without wasting a moment, Chris pressed forward, aiming to push Jeffrey out of the circle with numerous rapid spear thrusts. But Jeffrey was able to block every single one of Chris's attacks with his battle axe.

In a clever and daring move, Chris pushed his spear towards Jeffrey, diverting his attention for a split second. Seizing the opportunity, he quickly reversed his movement, and landed a kick on Jeffrey's legs. Caught off guard, Jeffrey stumbled, losing his balance for a moment.

Seeing this as his chance Chris lunged at Jeffrey with all his strength, striking with his spear on Jeffrey's side. This pushed Jeffrey back, making him stumble on the edge of the red circle.

Using his remaining strength, Chris made a final, push with his spear, successfully getting Jeffrey out of the circle. And with that, their fight over in just a few minutes.

"Winner of this round Chris Anders from weaponry class" the referee said and immediately the healers went to attend to both Chris and the other guy Jeffrey as they were both injured even though not very visible.

"Next round Audrey Casey from techies frontiers versus James bond from enhanced class"

She climbed up the stage and so did her opponent 'Examine'

[endurance : 35]

[ability : Ice]

The boy she was about to face was a level six and he had ice abilities. "Begin!" the referee shouted and the boy immediately created multiple ice spikes and launched them at Audrey at once

But she created a shield with her gauntlet just in time block every spike that would have hit her, and she immediately retracted the shield and shot a beam of energy at him through her gauntlets, but he dodged it just in time.

She attempted blasting him again but he dodged again and inched towards her. He created two more spikes of ice and launched them at her, she moved out of the way and successfully dodged them.

But being distracted gave him an opening to reduce their distance and he immediately conjured ice from the ground right where Audrey was standing, trapping her legs and restricting her from moving.

Moving closer to her he covered her gauntlets in ice preventing her from blasting him at all.

Audrey's heart raced as the ice encased her gauntlets and rooted her feet to the ground. James smirked, confident in his advantage, and began to form a larger, jagged spear of ice in his hands.

"Ready to loose this, Techie?" he taunted, his voice dripping with arrogance.

Audrey clenched her fists inside the frozen gauntlets. She could feel the electricity coursing through her veins, an ever-present hum beneath her skin. She closed her eyes for a split second, centering herself, focusing on the energy within.

With a determined grunt, she channeled her ability. Her body glowed with a faint blue light, the intensity growing until arcs of electricity began to crackle and dance around her. The ice trapping her legs started to melt, sizzling into steam as the temperature around her rose.

James faltered, his concentration breaking as he witnessed the sudden surge of power. "What the—"

Audrey didn't wait for him to finish. With a powerful thrust, she broke free from the ice binding her feet. She swung her arms, shattering the ice encasing her gauntlets with a burst of electrical energy.

James stumbled back, eyes wide. He quickly recovered, launching his ice spear directly at her. But Audrey was ready. With a fluid motion, she brought her hands together, creating an electric shield that deflected the spear effortlessly. The spear shattered on impact, pieces of ice scattering harmlessly to the floor.

Now it was Audrey's turn to smirk. She raised her gauntlets, electricity crackling between her fingertips. "Your ice is no match for my ability"

She thrust her arms forward, sending a powerful bolt of electricity straight at James. He tried to dodge, but the speed of the bolt was too great. It struck him squarely in the chest, lifting him off his feet and sending him crashing to the ground.

James groaned, struggling to get up, but Audrey didn't give him a chance. She advanced, her gauntlets glowing brighter. With a swift motion, she discharged another blast, this one even more powerful, sending him sprawling across the stage and out of the red circle.

The referee "The winner of this round is Audrey Casey from Techies Frontiers class!"
