Frost's Greed (Marvel)

Everyone follows Xavier, the idealist. Everyone worships Magneto, the extremist. None dare to disrespect Apocalypse, the militarist. But what about the final of the big 4. The one who has lost their students at every turn. The one that walks down the darkest path and is unwilling to put their faith in none outside of their circle of trust. The one that cares not about how humans view mutants nor about the infighting of others. Whose only true care is for the students. This is not a story about her but about a student of hers that believes in her ideas and teachings. Not about peaceful coexistence or mutant supremacy or survival of the fittest. To strive for a brighter tomorrow, even if they have to make it through the blackest night. This is the story of one boy following learning how to be a mutant in a world that hates him under the teachings of the White Queen. He will go from an inexperienced kid to one of the most important mutants in the world ------------ I'm guaranteeing this story for a year, averaging a chapter per day (major holidays may get no chapter or more chapters.) This means that this will be my longest and most secure story, and hopefully the best, on the site. *Warnings! Warnings! Warnings!* - This takes place in an AU of Marvel. So while most things will remain similar to what most people are familiar with, there will be some changes (Some characters being mutants or mutates, etc) - He will start off weak power-wise. He will become very powerful eventually but not for now. He must earn the crowd's favor. - This will be a harem.

Issue #8

The Asgardians gathered around a campfire they had built. They consisted of 4 males and 2 females, each one of them was one of the best spies and assassins in all of Asgard.

"Captain. Why are we in Jotunheim of all places?" One of the women asked the captain of their group. It was easy to tell their ranks apart since 5 of the members were wearing silver while only the captain was wearing gold.

"A human from Midgard has become the new king of Jotunheim months ago without our knowledge. He is able to block off Heimdall's sight from entering this realm and also knew of the secret plans of Loki. Odin is wary of him so our duty is to monitor the situation and assassinate if we need to," Aren, the man in golden armor, said to the other Asgardians

"Are you serious, Brother? A mere human was able to conquer an entire realm before we noticed and could even block out Heimdall the All-Seer?" Bjarne asked in disbelief

"As serious as whenever Loki returns, ready to birth a new being into existence," Aren said frustrated

Aren also understood what they meant though. Although Odin could have taken over Jotunheim or Thor could have taken over Jotunheim by themselves, they would not have been able to do it without anyone noticing. And even if Thor did it, he would not emerge unscathed nor block out Heimdall.

So the fact that it was a human that did it mattered little to Aren. All that he cared about was ensuring the safety of Asgard against this unknown entity.

Jack heard every word they spoke which confirmed what he had believed.

'Unfortunately for you, Odin, I just got an upgrade.'

Jack searched for the nearest tribes of Frost, Storm, Hill, and Trolls. He then teleported the largest and strongest out of each of the tribes above the cave that the Asgardians were hiding in before opening it up. The Asgardians looked up and saw that there were 13 Giants above them from different races.

"Natives of Jotunheim. We have no quarrel with you. Our people only wish to rest from a long journey before we return home," Aren said as he slowly reached for the spear he had set down while backing up

Unfortunately for Aren and the Asgardians, the Giants were already under Jack's control. So no matter how they tried to plead, the result would be the same.

With a round of roars, the giants jumped into the opening with their weapons ready before beginning their assault on the Asgardians. The battle was swift due to the Asgardians being caught unprepared and being outnumbered.

"Brother! Run back to Asgard!" Aren yelled towards Bjarne as he blocked the club of a Hill Giant before getting stabbed in the back by a Storm Giant.

"Brother!" Bjarne yelled with tears in his eyes before jumping into the portal that he had entered from.

Alone in a forest, Bjarne activated the seal on the portal to prevent any Giants from making their way through it. Bjarne tried to stand up and report back their findings but his injuries were too serious.

Luckily for the Asgardian, another portal opened up above him. Soon, the famed guardian of the rainbow bridge appeared in front of Bjarne.

Heimdall kneeled next to the warrior as he examined his injuries before shaking his head.

"Your injuries are far too serious. The moment you move from this spot, you will die. Do you have any words you wish to share with me before you pass on?" Heimdall asked with a trace of pity in his voice

"They were waiting for us. Within minutes of our arrival, the ground above our heads opened up before 4 different races of Giants ambushed us. We had no chance of getting any information," Bjarne forced himself to speak while feeling the blood fill his throat

"That is good. Thank you for your hard work," Heimdall stayed with his fellow Asgardian in his last moments. Even a few minutes after the light left his eyes, Heimdall did not abandon Bjarne.

'No time for mourning. We must inform Odin of what is going on.'

Carrying Bjarne's body, Heimdall warped from his location to outside of Odin's castle. The guards of duty only saw a man carrying a dead body at first so they pointed their weapons as Heimdall. But after noticing who it was, they stayed their hands.

Heimdalll passed Bjarne's body to one of the guards before entering the castle to speak with Odin. Wlaking through the various halls, he arrived outside of the throne room and entered without waiting for permission or announcing himself.

"Who dares to...!" Odin was ready to shout at whoever entered his throne room but when he saw Heimdall covered in blood, he held his tongue. "Heimdall? What's going on?"

"The team you sent in were wiped out and the entire situation is suspicious. They weren't able to survive for 10 minutes inside of Jotunheim. Not only that, the one survivor told me that the ground opened up above them before they were attacked by 4 different groups of Giants," Heimdall explained everything that happened in one breath

Giants were some of the most ruthless beings in the 9 Realms. They rarely worked with another race of Giants, and never worked with 2 at the same time. 4 races working together was impossible.

"Then it must be the new king. Not only does he have eyes like yours within his own realm but he can also control the giants," Odin deduced.

This put him in a difficult position. Odin thought that even if Jack was the strongest in Jotunheim, he would still need years to unite the giants under him.

But if he was able to command a group of ginats in a remote corner far away from his main base, it meant that he had already conquered them all or could control them as he pleased. Either one was dangerous for Asgard.

"It seems I will have to meet with this 'Jack Frost' myself," Odin said aloud before dismissing Heimdall so he could think of how he would deal with the new ruler of Jotunheim
