Issue #3

The spears of dark energy were fired in Jack's direction. Seeing them attack closing in on him, Jack swiped at them with his new sword. Each of the attacks was broken easily but Jack was forced to slow down in order to properly counter them.

When he was about to speed up his charge once again, the arctic wind began to blow all around his body as his temperature started to fall a bit. The cold made him even slower while the snow blocked out some of his vision.

Several more spears of energy broke through the cold and stabbed at the place where Jack was located. Before any of the attacks could land, Jack used his [Blink] skill to teleport out of the way.

Jack teleported into the air before he summoned his wings and floated above while the pair looked around in confusion.

'I've heard of her before. She should be a mutant called Bora. She sued to fight against the original X-Men. Against normal people, she is pretty deadly but against the newer me, she is a bit lacking.

As for the other guy, that dark energy seems familiar but also a bit different. Doesn't matter though. When I 'eat' the both of them, I will find out anyway.'

Jack fired another pair of [Electro-Fireballs] at the pair. This time, only the man was able to defend himself in time. The woman was instantly burnt to a crisp.

Inside of the Dark Zone, Jack did not pay attention to any of the white or silver orbs. Hee instantly walked toward the purple orb with the 'X' on it.

Jack returned back to the outside world where he was still in the air. The man had not recovered from dodging th recent attack so Jack used that to his advantage. Trying out his new power, Jack unleashed a storm of freezing wind in the area around him.

The cold wind instantly caused Blackout to nearly lose his mind. He wanted to summon his power but could no longer concentrate on them. Each time he tried to create a construct, it would shatter before it could even fully be formed.

Blackout was beginning to panic when he felt something on the side of his hand. It was a hand. He then felt the hand pushing hard against the side of his head. Blackout was sent flying and saw the world passing by very fast.

But one thing, in particular, caught his eye. There was a headless that looked just like his own standing in place.

'Wait. Why would there be a headless... oh. That's m...' but before he could finish his thoughts, the man finally died

Jack once again entered the Dark Zone. This time, the orb that caught his attention was the red orb that signified a mutate ability.

[(Mutate) Solid Darkforce Manipulation: the user possesses a mutate mutation that has the ability to tap and manipulate an intense black form of extra-dimensional energy called the Darkforce. Unlike most users of the Darkforce that use a gaseous form, the user controls a type of Darkforce that has mass and form.]

'So it was the Darkforce! I've only seen Cloak's and Mr. Negative's versions on the news. Both of theirs were the other gaseous type mentioned.'

Jack chose this power but did not immediately exit the Dark Zone. Instead, he wanted to use his [Fusion] ability. Although both of his new powers were interesting, they both had huge weaknesses. They were just too weak!

From what Jack could tell, he would have been able to break the Darkforce constructs with his bare hands if he was careful. The cold wind was also useful against street-level heroes like Iron Fist and Moon Knight but if Jack was going to have to deal with Sentinels and powerful mutants in the future, they were just too lacking.

'Unknown? Really?'

Jack had used the fusion ability 3 times before but each time, he knew what he was getting. This was the first time he would get an unknown result.

'Maybe it's because I'm combining two different types. One is an X-Gene and the other is a Mutate mutation. All the other times, I combined either skills or abilities.'

Thinking that this made the most sense, Jack decided to put the thought in the back of his mind. He did not consider it a big deal since he was planning on using fusion on the two or them whether he knew what he was getting or not.

Jack summoned the purple and red orbs from his body as they floated in front of him. The orbs then combined together before his eyes. The new orb was magenta in color while the large 'X' remained across the front of it.

(Fusion) (Mutate/X-Gene Hybrid) Dark Ice: By combining a mutate and mutant power, the user has gained a unique power that has properties of both but also its own unique properties. The ice created by this power is black in color and possesses a strong corrosive effect. The ice is supernaturally cold and cannot be melted by average temperature flames. The ice also absorbs all light similar to Darkforce powers. (Idea by Christian_Cober)

The new orb then entered Jack's body. As soon as it was inside. Jack tested his new power. He created a sword of Dark Ice. Jack swung the blade around several times and could feel the power within it.

'This stuff is good. But it is better to test it on actual targets to see what it can really do.'

Jack left the Dark Zone and was confused by the feeling in his hand. He looked down and remembered that there was a head in there before he dropped in on the ground.

'They either really liked chokers or those were slave collars of some sort. Which means someone has to be the slave owner. With the tech level in here, that means the collars are most likely magical. Which means a magic user. And that user is most likely in this castle.'

With the two people that interrupted him dead, Jack started walking toward the entrance of the castle to explore it.
