Frost's Greed (Marvel)

Everyone follows Xavier, the idealist. Everyone worships Magneto, the extremist. None dare to disrespect Apocalypse, the militarist. But what about the final of the big 4. The one who has lost their students at every turn. The one that walks down the darkest path and is unwilling to put their faith in none outside of their circle of trust. The one that cares not about how humans view mutants nor about the infighting of others. Whose only true care is for the students. This is not a story about her but about a student of hers that believes in her ideas and teachings. Not about peaceful coexistence or mutant supremacy or survival of the fittest. To strive for a brighter tomorrow, even if they have to make it through the blackest night. This is the story of one boy following learning how to be a mutant in a world that hates him under the teachings of the White Queen. He will go from an inexperienced kid to one of the most important mutants in the world ------------ I'm guaranteeing this story for a year, averaging a chapter per day (major holidays may get no chapter or more chapters.) This means that this will be my longest and most secure story, and hopefully the best, on the site. *Warnings! Warnings! Warnings!* - This takes place in an AU of Marvel. So while most things will remain similar to what most people are familiar with, there will be some changes (Some characters being mutants or mutates, etc) - He will start off weak power-wise. He will become very powerful eventually but not for now. He must earn the crowd's favor. - This will be a harem.

Issue #1

Jack returned to the Avengers Tower and slept like a baby throughout the night. Even though it was only 9 pm, he was mentally exhausted from planning and scheming.

'If only I could just blow up everyone I don't like,' were Jack's last thoughts before he closed his eyes in slumber.

The next morning, Jack woke up early. As soon as he was up, he went to his laptop and began sorting through the various assignments or tasks SHIELD needed help with.

With his date with Emma in 4 days, Jack wanted to schedule it to the point where he could get enough work done that he could justify a day off afterward. Although he knew that Steve would approve, there was someone else that would cause issues.

'I can't give that asshole any ammunition that would hurt my squad. My god, I hate playing politics. My least favorite lesson from Emma.

My squad still has another 2 days off. Which means that the mission needs to take place in 3 days exactly and also be big enough that I can get the next day off without issue.'

After going through several files, he finally found something that he could work with. It had just come in when he was about to do an advanced search and look thins that had the word mutant within them.

[Victor Von Doom will be visiting New York on .... and giving a speech at Times Square. Due to a falling out with the Red Skull, the chances of an assassination attempt are high. While we are not worried about Doom, we hope to have some Avengers on standby to help civilians in case anything does happen.]

'Sounds perfect. I nearly forgot that Doom will be bringing Valeria back that day.'

Jack began typing up a mission request reform and sent it to Captain America. After he completed that, he began looking up several other missions he could complete by himself.

'Keeo going, Jack! You wanted to be a team leader, so now you have to be a team leader. Need to take on the extra work that no one else wants to.'

After coming through a few things, Jakc decided to pursue a deadly mutant that went by Omega-Red. This guy was a long time enemy of Wolverine, the US, Russia, the Girl Scouts... pretty much anyone he was paid.

There had been a few sightings of him near the borders of Genosha so it wasn't hard to imagine what he was up to. The bounties that were on the heads of former members of the Brotherhood were sky high in the dark side of society. Killing just one of them would allow most people to retire.

'Omega-Red should be making his move tomorrow afternoon since Magneto will be leaving for the UN meeting in the morning.'

After getting that settled, Jack looked at the clock and saw it wasn't even 10 am yet.

'Huh. I'm moving faster than thought. Let's head out and have some fun then.'

Jack ot dressed in some casual clothes, a blue and and blacksuit made of material that he could barely pronounce, and took for towards the sky. A few minutes later, Jack landed landed next to an average cabin in the middle of Germany.

Jack walked up to the main door before lifting up a hidden panel. He then input a security code.

Once the code was entered, the light on the panel flickered a few times before Jack heard the door unlock. Jack then walked into the cabin and made his way to the fireplace.

There, there was another secret panel and code to be entered before the fireplace turned into an elevator. Jack boarded it and was taken down to a subterranean facility.

'Every villain hides underground. We really just need to fire sonars off randomly and we can find dozens of hidden bases.'

When Jack got off the elevator, he was greeted to Mr. Sinister lying on the floor with his back pressed against the wall. Seeing the lifeless clone, Jack smiled to himself before he began walking deeper into the facility.

This was one of Mr. Sinister's hidden gene storage location. Of the 3, this one was the smallest but had the most genetic code hidden there. Jack was there precisely for that code.

He wanted to see if it was more efficient to add changes to his own genetic structure or if it was better to grow clones and kill them off to take their powers for himself.

'First thing I need to do is study my own DNA though.'

Jack went toward the lab. This place was very high tech due to Mr. Sinister incorporating several pieces fo celestial technology he had gained from Apocalypse.

Jack walked over to a certain machine before he cut his arm, several times, in order to get enough blood that could be tested.

'Worst part about healing factor,' Jack complained to himself

As Jack put his blood into the machine, he began studying his DNA. As with his knowledge of genetics, he found himself as the most fascinating being he had ever seen. In the least narcissistic way that could be said.

From what he gleamed from Sinister's memories, most genetic code between mutants looked the same. Even for the most powerful mutants like Magneto and Charles Xavier, they still did not differ much.

The two exceptions to this were the Summers and Grey bloodlines. While their DNA did not seem too unique, they had a unique structure which guaranteed Alpha level mutations and that their children would surely be mutants.

But even compared to them, Jack was unique. His DNA was both very stable yet completely unstable. It was like it was constantly craving for more to be added to it.

And when he took a closer look, Jack discovered that his additional powers were not stored there. Even the powers that were listed as mutations were not within his X-Gene. And when he began looking for the M-Gene and T-Gene from mutates and Inhumans respectively, both were missing.

'Where the fuck are my powers? Are they within my X-Gene? Or is the Dark Place more than just a place where I can get others' powers? Maybe it's actually...' Jack continued to try and find an explanation for his powers.

But there was also something else that Jack had been suspecting. He could no longer be considered human. At least not fully human. When his power said that he had become half a spirit, it truly meant that he had become a half/pseudo-spirit.

'I need to do a few more tests.'

Jack began to experiment on himself in full. He gave himself a complete workup and series of tests. And the results were shocking.

His DNA was unstable not because of his powers but because of his spirit physiology. Like it was trying to balance the two sides of him.

And the theory he had come up with in his head had also become true when he put on a mutant inhibitor collar. He was still able to access all of his powers, abilities, and skills even when he wore one.

'So they are all in my soul then. I was literally taking pieces of their soul when I killed them to fuel my powers. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about that so I'm just gonna ignore it for now and save it for one of my therapy sessions.

If my powers aren't in my DNA, then it should be better to do both of my plans. I can incorporate the powers in my genetic sequence and also create some clones and kill them.

That way, they can think that my additional powers come from the beings I copied instead of those that I kill. I still can't let it be known but this will be a good back up plan.'

Jack needed to further study his own DNA so he could safely add other X-Genes to his structure while the cloning process would take awhile before Jack would be able to reap any benefits. So he created a way that he could access the lab from his personal laptop before taking off and flying back home.
