The tribe grows

Roc bent down and picked up a deer. It was a bit heavy but he carefully slung the dear over his shoulder. With a cheerful tone, he spoke out:

"Brother Light look at how strong I am! I think I can take two but I can't shoulder more than that."

"This is not a problem. You can find a stick to tie the prey on it and drag the stick. But even then, we still can't get back."

Everyone was tired and couldn't stay here all night.

'All kinds of beasts would come out following the scent of blood, who knows what will happen? Moreover, the date agreed with the Titan is this afternoon, and it cannot be delayed anymore. If we can't bring them all back, we can remove whatever things we need from the deer and then cut off their heads as a trophy'

Edward ordered the men to find wooden sticks to help drag whatever remaining deer they would take while Night had to take whatever was needed from the deer's that were to be left behind.

Suddenly, Edward heard a low shout from Roc. He looked up alertly.

Everyone quickly lowered their bodies and squatted on the grass.

"What did you hear?" Edward whispered.

"There are several people coming towards our direction!" Roc pointed his finger at the direction of the valley.

"Don't let it be people from the Titan tribe. Our prey has not yet been secured. It will be very troublesome to meet them here!" Night spoke with a hint of nervousness in her voice.

Edward remembered what Night had told him earlier. This place was the lands of the Titan tribe and they were hostile towards them. If they discovered that they had hunted so many preys, it would trigger a fierce conflict especially to steal their food.

Edward did not have any ideas at the moment.

'The place that was violently hit by Titan, a few days ago is still faintly painful. The bruises on my eyes had just subsided today... This bastard has more people with him than us. A direct fight would be to our disadvantage. The least I can do is face Titan tribe directly and show no weakness'

At this time, Edward suddenly stood up to see the faces of the people clearly but then he had a grin on his face.

Night hurriedly slammed him down, but he broke free from her.

"It's your old tribesmen!" Edward yelled.

When everyone heard it, they all stood up, and Night laughed out loud.

"Light, how clever they came. We don't have to worry about anything!"

Roc waved at the five people coming towards their direction.

Night asked: "Big Head, didn't you threw Light out of the cave just recently? How come you've come here especially knowing this is Titan tribe area?"

Big Head being the leader of the strong men present replied reverently:

"Little Night, Daisy told us that if we picked mud from the swamp and gather dry wood then we will get meat. We've gathered a lot since yesterday you left. Daisy told us to take the trip to this valley to see if we can help you guys out so we came."

Edward couldn't help but feel lucky at his situation. They now could transport all their prey back home.

"How can you so sure that you will even receive meat?" Edward asked while joking.

Watching Edward ask this question, Big Head was a bit embarrassed and timid. When he was the patriarch of the clan, he had driven away Light who promised them his help. It was not like he was tight on resources and couldn't take in Light. In fact, it wouldn't have been much of a problem to take in Light and yet he had thrown him away.

He and his men had smelled the fragrance of roasted meat which had made them all hungry. They couldn't stand it anymore and found the leftovers thrown away by Light to fill their hunger.

In the end, several people decided to abandon the tribe. He too had decided to just join Light.

Big Head did not dare to look directly into Edward's eyes, and lowered his head and shouted:

"Everyone wants to follow you. If you give us no meat, we will still follow you. I was ….. wrong for what I did to you."

Seeing a lot of prey, these people were shocked stupid.

This was simply a pile of meat hill.

With these people as porters, Edward and Night felt better.
