Yes, That’s Why I Need You (1)

"Y-Yesh..!"

Kasra accidentally bit his tongue, when he responded to her question.

She had the same uneasy smile as when she talked to him initially.

"Then… come in."

Stepping away from the door, Kasra allowed some distance to build between the two of them before he followed her in.

Walking into the room, hesitantly, like a stray cat being fed, he noticed that it felt much warmer in there than the rest of the third floor.

The woman that he assumed was talking to him over the phone, was sitting at one of the desks.

He only got to look her in the eyes for a second before she snapped away from him.

Her ears were bright red.

Kasra looked at her with a confused expression, before the creepy girl grabbed his attention again.

"Utsumi…"

Turning his head, Kasra switched his gaze to the woman's voice.

She sat at her desk, centered and in front of the windows to the outside.

Her hands locked together, her left leg crossed over her right.

And just when he met the Student Council President, she was bathed in a blinding light.

It was a familiar scene.

She spoke with a serious tone.

"I need you."

Thinking she was confessing to him, Kasra was nearly knocked over.

After a second he realized what she actually meant.

Looking down with red cheeks, and using his hair to hide, he asked, in confirmation:

"…What you mean, is I can be a useful member of the Security Forces, since I have no partner… that's what you're getting at, right..?"

Enthused by Kasra, she twiddled her thumbs together.

"Yes, that's why I need you, Utsumi. Im the currently-appointed head of the Security Forces. You're able to cast Freezing without being binded to a Pandora, that's something that is very useful to our directive."

Looking up, Kasra said:

"Alright, thats fine, but please phrase what you want to say better next time, I thought you meant something completely different for a second."

Kasra couldn't see her due to the light shooting into the room, but she was smiling.

Standing up, she pulled her hands apart, and turned around to look outside.

"Our job isn't really too difficult to understand. We're tasked with stopping Pandora's from losing themselves, either to their frenzy, or Novafication. The bad part is this essentially means we stand ready for anything 24/7."

Kasra's eyebrows furrowed and his jaw clenched, as he was filled with determination.

"Fine by me, really."

Still looking outside, her hands were clasped together behind her back, and resting on her tailbone.

After a brief second, she said:

"That's the perfect answer, Utsumi. Please read up on the 30 protocols we have to follow and regulation 10.319 when you get home."

Confused, Kasra hesitated before asking:

"…The 30… what? 10-point-what now?"
