Want to be my girlfriend?

Farley and Ezra stood behind the man as he entered the room. Only Farley separated himself and walked towards the front and joined the judges' seats. Meanwhile, Ezra followed the man and stood behind him in the corner of the room with a flat and unreadable expression.

"Okay, to all participants, we congratulate you on joining the international training event which is held once a year. Here we will introduce all the committee after that all the participants, when introducing the participants please come forward" said the committee who was standing in the middle of the committee standing on the stage.

"I am Devanshi, the chairman of the committee for this event," said the same committee with a big smile on her face, introducing herself. One by one the committee introduced themselves. After that the participants, and them came to Vhaken's turn.

"Hi, I'm Vhaken, a branch team from Terrazen as a graphic design architect. I'm here to accompany my colleague because I've been to this event before, but I'm happy to be a part of this activity again" his self-introduction style, like his trademark speech that Leigh knows so far, is funky, bluntly. There were even participants who laughed at the way he spoke. After that he got off the stage and sat on his chair.

Leigh walked awkwardly towards the stage, nervous. She was even more nervous, because she felt someone sitting in the corner of the room, watching every detail of her movements, as if wanting to learn all about her. She became increasingly nervous as she stood on the stage facing the participants, especially to the man in the corner.

She blinked a few times, trying to focus on what she had to do, averting her eyes to ignore the man's deadly glare. She swallowed hard, prepared herself, spoke.

"Hikhmm" a small clearing voice sounded "Hi...." she greeted with a slightly stiff voice and a forced smile. "I am Leigh Quinn, a branch team from Terrazen as a junior design, I have only been work to this company here for about 3 months, this is my first time participating in this training event, I am very excited about the continuity of this event until the end, thank you" she bowed slightly and smiled at the participants .

"Are you single?" asked one participant surprising one room. Because no one asked when the committee or other participants introduced themselves. Suddenly all heads turned to the source of the voice. From the sound is a man and he is sitting in the second row of the front.

Leigh jerked her head at the man who asked, hesitating to answer "Hmm Y-Yes"

"Want to be my girlfriend?" asked the same man, making a rumbling sound audible instantly from the other participants.

Unbeknownst to them, the question, made certain person sitting in the corner of the room, his face darkened, making the atmosphere in the room feel cramped for those who could feel it.

This can be felt by Leigh, she spontaneously glanced at the man. She saw the man's face darken, expressionless and unreadable. His gaze was horrifying. It took her breath away and she didn't notice it. Until the chirps of other participants brought her to her senses.

"Uuuu that's cool" shouted another participant while giving a thumbs up to the man who asked.

Before Leigh could answer the question, an organizer rushed onto the stage and took over the mix to speak.

"Miss Leigh thank you for your introduction, you may return to your seat" the organizer asked her politely and a small smile appeared on her face.

Leigh was stunned for a moment. Unintentionally her eyes glanced at the man in the corner. And she saw the man grinning, his lips rising slightly and a small smile visible there. She cursed herself, she immediately closed her eyes for a moment, calming her suddenly beating heart. How could the look on the man's face change so drastically, from a ghastly darkness to now a grinning, astonished smile. She inhaled and exhaled curlty, she stood up straight, with clumsy steps she walked down the stage and sat down in her chair.

"You did well" Vhaken chimed in as she sat down in her seat. He rubbed her shoulder a few times, as if to calm her down. Maybe her face looked a little pale from nervousness. Her hands trembled and she gripped them in an attempt not to be too obvious to others.

Leigh glanced over at him, blinked, and smiled at him.

"Why do you look tense, something is bothering you?" whispered Vhaken in her ear, sending a warm feeling of air coming out of his mouth but felt cold to her ears. When his cursory lips rubbed at the tip of her earlobe. There was a tickling sensation, and it made her gasp, startled.

"No, I'm not tensed" she lied, her face crimson red, from being caught by him. But she tried to steel herself to look tough. She straightened her sitting posture so that she looked elegantly seated there like a delegation from a client who came to collaborate.

"Tsk... liar, it seems at your face and your trembling body Little one" Vhaken sneered jokingly beside her, like lovers whispering in a busy crowd.

Leigh had no answer to his joke. She scolded herself for looking weak in his eyes. She lowered her head to calm herself. Her cheeks were flushed red, embarrassed.

Other participants who have not advanced to introduce themselves, go forward one by one until everyone has had their turn.

The next event was an explanation of the company's history, tactics, and strategies in doing business. Everyone listened carefully. Like a student sitting listening to a lecture from a lecturer standing in front of explaining the lesson. There are not very interested in this topic, maybe they already know so look to hear it nonchalantly. Some even yawn, sleepy. Because the one who explained it his voice sounded flat, monotonous, and made the listeners be bewitched with sleepiness.

Time is running slowly, it feels like for participants who feel bored. Not so for Leigh, though she already knew some parts but there were parts she didn't know, so she listened intently, though her focus was occasionally distracted by the glances in her eyes at the man in the corner. And somehow every time she glanced at him, their gazes always met. And every time happened, she immediately looked down or immediately looked the other way. It was as if she hadn't glanced at the man in the first place.

In her heart, she was annoyed with herself today. What's wrong with her today? Why a man who accidentally met her yesterday, even that was only a glimpse but could make her very nervous, awkward, and tense. Like she was enchanted by a spell that was invisible to her. Sending a chill run down her spine.

The sound of applause that broke out after the speaker finished speaking was heard and woke Leigh out of her reverie. The committee announced that it was lunch time. Everyone cheered, putting whatever equipment they had in their hands in their bags or whatever they brought into the meeting room.

One by one the participants left the room. When the rest of the participants were still busy tidying up their writing utensils. Leigh stood together with Vhaken, walking towards the door of the room. On the way her eyes glanced around the corner to see if the man was still there. But the man was no longer there. She was stunned, she didn't see the man moving out of the room. When did he leave? Her right eyebrow rose, her eyes narrowed, curious.

Why that man had been a topic on her mind from the moment he walked into the room until now. It was as if he was the object she was researching, and the results of this research were very important for her to report later. Yes, reported to her heart. She kept asking why the man's presence bothered her so much. So far, she has never been too obsessive to any man. She was obsessed with Vhaken which sometimes made them argue but it didn't make her as obsessed as she is now. It was as if he was a precious gem to her. But why? Leigh kept asking herself, more and more astonished.

They walked to the dining room and had lunch there with the organizers and other participants, happily. It is at this time that the other participants approach each other to get to know each other better. As far as can be seen all speak greetings of harmony.

But the harmony had to end for Leigh as a certain man approached their table. Yet Vhaken was there and was busy talking to her. "Hi again" he greeted with a wide smile on his face, but his eyes were fixed on Leigh's eyes, as if Vhaken wasn't there, only him and Leigh.
