Glorious Land

They ate harmoniously on the same plate together, Kendric wanted to keep talking to her while eating, but he noticed, she was having trouble speaking while she was chewing. So, he chose silence. After all, the night is still long.

Kendric kept feeding her like a child who need to be tended, until the food on his plate ran out. Not quite there, he reached for the plate that was in front of Leigh, he did the same thing, a plate of eating for two.

"I think I'm full," Leigh quipped, seeing Kendric wanting to put another dish on his plate. 'Does he think I eat much?' On the other hand, Leigh was uncomfortable with being fed by other people, especially a man, whom she didn't know at all.

Kendric furrowed his brows, looking and examining whether what she said was true. "Eat the fruit then" his hand reached for the plate containing the fruit, but before his hand reached the fruit was stopped.

"I'm really full, Ken. I don't think I can eat anymore." Her face was sour, and worried. If he was going to force her to eat a lot. She held her stomach and breathed heavily, wanting to show that she was really full.

Kendric thought for a moment, his eyes narrowed sharply "Okay, but you have to drink the juice" he ordered forcefully. He lifted the glass of juice that was in front of Leigh, handed it to her. He waited patiently.

Leigh sighed. 'Looks like he won't give up' with a heavy heart. She grabbed the glass of juice and drank it. She gulped it one sip after another until the juice was finished. Only then did Kendric's face look satisfied, he smiled happily.

Leigh thought that she had come here just to eat with him. With them finished eating, she should be able to leave this room. "Since dinner is over, I would like to excuse myself to go back to my room, rest" she was about to get up, but her movements stopped. Her heart stopped for a moment.

"Not so fast" Kendric replied casually, his hand casually reaching for the napkin to wipe his mouth. Like that word was what he used to do. Then he lightly turned his head and looked at Leigh with a happy smile.

Leigh was stunned. 'Uuh, what else does he want me to do' she thought hard, thinking about the various possibilities. What did he expect? She was brought here without any clarity for what purpose. And it turns out to accompany him for dinner. She had already done that, had also followed his whim by calling out his nickname. What else now?

After all, Vhaken was waiting for her in his room. She glanced at the watch she was wearing. There should still be time to walk around for a while. "Ken .... I have an appointment with another friend, he is waiting for me" hopefully this reason can make her disappear from this room as soon as possible.

"What appointment?" asked Kendric nonchalantly. He already knew that she had an appointment with Vhaken, from Ezra. He can do more than that. he could take her to far more interesting places than just strolling the night streets of Yannick city.

"Hmm.... to take a walk around Yannick city" she replied in a nearly choked voice. She was embarrassed, but she really wanted to go. This might be the only chance to see the city of Yannick. Because once the training program is over, it's impossible for her to have time for it.

"Well... I can take you to a much more interesting place, than just walking around Yannick city at night. But not now" he answered in a flat voice, showing no interest at all.

"Ken.. if you think I made a mistake two days ago, I'm sorry, I'm really do. I really need to go right now." Leigh tried her luck one last time. She hoped in her heart, if the man beside him could grant her wish. Her body was still nervous the whole time they ate until now. She didn't think that she could last much longer.

Kendric scowled. His eyes narrowed darkly at her. "I already said yesterday, the incident was not a big deal. Don't think too much" the words he spoke were clear and sharp. He doesn't like repeating the same words, what he said.

Without waiting, he stood up from his seat. He reached out his hand to Leigh while showing the sweetest smile he had ever displayed since his appearance in this room. Like what he just said, it meant nothing to him. "Come, I want to show you something."

With no other choice. Leigh accepted his outstretched hand. the second her hand touched Kendric's, she gasped, startled. Her eyes bulged open. She felt like an electric stream was flowing from his hand. but it was only for a moment. She looked at him. He didn't notice the strangeness she had just felt. With anticipation, she stood up, following where he was going to take her.

They walked into his study. He let go of the hand that was gripping Leigh's hand tightly, as soon as he placed it on top of his earlier. He pointed her to sit on the sofa.

He walked to his desk. Grabbed his laptop to walk back and sat down on the sofa facing Leigh. He opened his laptop, he was busy there for a while, until he turned his laptop and showed to her.

"Look," his voice came out as he leaned back against the sofa again. He crossed his legs, sitting casually but gracefully.

Leigh squinted at the laptop screen for a moment, curious. What does he want to show her? A presentation file with the project title 'Glorious Land'. She leaned forward and scrolled down the cursor, screen after screen. She looked the contents carefully. The more she reads the following screen, her face looks excited and amazed by the project she is reading.

According to her, the project was a masterpiece, she was very impressed with those who designed this project. Surely a very famous person to be able to design such a great architecture. Very true to the name of the project 'Glorious Land'.

After she finished reading, she looked at Kendric with a big smile. This was the first time she had seen the masterpiece of a renowned architect. And she couldn't thank him for showing her this project. Because she thought, she was someone who shouldn't be shown a project of this magnitude with her level of experience. She's still a long way from getting there.

"A masterpiece" couldn't really express her admiration, she could only say those two words, with a big smile and bright sparkling eyes. As bright as the moon on a full moon.

"Yes, indeed," said Kendric, nodding his head in agreement. "I have been looking for someone to handle this project for a long time. And today I got it" Kendric stretched his words for a moment "Your presentation this afternoon was amazing. Why don't you tackle this project?" he lightly drops the bomb. Staring meaningfully into Leigh's eyes.
