Chapter 5

Pearl wanted to tell her mother but the next day her mom reached home crying and drunk. When Pearl asked what happened, her mom replied while sobbing saying that her step dad had found another young women and she couldn't help but feel sad. Pearl didn't had the heart to say anything to her mother so she just kept on suffering in silence.

Pearl suffered for two whole months and she was also back to living with her grandfather. Pearl had random explosions of anger which led to fights between her and her elder sister. To avoid fights she would isolate herself from everyone but that only made her cry alot and she had even started cutting herself. She would cut her arms and then wear long sleeves to cover it. Pearl would think about suicide almost all the time at school and back at her home she would think about how worthless her presence is. She would feel insecure about her body and sometimes she would think about losing her weight in the same way she had did in the past. By throwing up everything she would eat or either starving herself for days without even taking a sip of water but this time she couldn't do it because Pearl would feel hungry after every five minutes. Literally. If she ate just now then she would feel hungry again after five minutes.

Eating seemed like a way to fill her empty heart so she never stopped eating. Same goes for the crying, she could never stop her tears. She lost interest in many things and kept zoning out in maximum of her class. She had frequent anxiety attacks and no body seemed to care.

Her group of friends that looked like they cared about her, abandoned her for a new popular girl. They acted like they hated the new girl but behind Pearl's back they all became good friends and avoided Pearl again. She was left all alone but one of her ex-friend from that group had the audacity to blame her so-called-attention-seeking-depression on Pearl infront of the whole class and Pearl scoffed loudly as a reply which made the counselor stare right into her soul. But Pearl wasn't the bad guy or was she?
