Ruby was sitting by herself in her room, gazing at the unique object she had taken such a big chance to get. She was aware that the object had the ability to heal or resuscitate a person, as well as that her dying grandma may be helped by this ability.

Though she wanted to utilize the item on the other two days, her grandma was her first priority and advised her to take her time, saying, "Take your time, my dear Ruby, don't be hasty."

But as she held the item in her hands, Ruby couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that weighed heavily on her conscience. She had stolen the item from the witch in the forest, and that act of theft was now haunting her.

The more she thought about it, the more she realized that her desire to save her grandmother didn't justify the wrong she had committed. She knew that the only way to alleviate her guilt was to return the item to its rightful owner.

With a heavy heart, Ruby made her way back to the forest to return the item to the witch. She knew that she would face consequences for her actions, but she was ready to face them.

As she cautiously approached the witch's dwelling, her footsteps rustling through the undergrowth, Ruby called out, her voice filled with remorse. "Witch, I have come to return what I took from you. I am deeply sorry for my actions."

The forest seemed to hold its breath as the silence stretched, until finally, a low, gravelly voice emerged from the shadows. "You dare return, young thief?" the witch's voice echoed through the trees, tinged with both anger and curiosity.

Ruby stepped forward, her gaze fixed on the figure cloaked in darkness. "I have come to make amends," she replied, her voice steady despite the trepidation that gnawed at her.

The witch emerged from the shadows, her eyes piercing through Ruby with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine. "You have shown courage, child, in admitting your wrongdoing," the witch said, her voice softer now, tinged with a hint of grudging admiration.

Ruby extended her trembling hand, offering the item back to its rightful owner. "Please, take it," she implored, her voice laced with sincerity. "I understand now that what I did was wrong. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

The witch's gaze softened as she regarded Ruby, studying her with a mix of curiosity and wisdom. After a moment of silence that seemed to stretch into eternity.

"There is strength in admitting one's mistakes and striving to make things right. Just take it" the witch acknowledged, her voice carrying a note of unexpected warmth.

"Consider this a lesson learned, young one. May it guide you on your path."

A sense of relief washed over Ruby as the witch's words reached her ears. It was as if a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders, replaced with a newfound resolve to follow the path of integrity and honor.

With a nod of gratitude, Ruby turned to leave, her steps lighter now as she ventured back towards her own journey. She knew that she had grown stronger and wiser through this experience, and she vowed to use that newfound strength to make a positive difference in the world.

Ruby breathed a sigh of relief as she walked the familiar path back to Crescensia, a faint smile playing on her lips. The weight of her grandmother's illness still burdened her heart, but she found solace in the knowledge that she had acted out of love and compassion.
