Impending Doom

In a quiet room in S.T.A.R labs, Barry laid on his back looking upward at nothing in particular. There was something peculiar that happened in this last battle, something he couldn't wrap his head around. At least, not immediately.

There were two instances where something extremely bizarre happened during the fight with Zoom. Both of those times, he felt... no, more like he actually saw himself being discontinued from the present reality. He glimpsed another reality, one vastly different from this one. And in each instance, his consciousness was 'pulled' to another... dimension... another reality.

"Both occurrences seemed to happen within the timeframe of using temporal manipulation with heightened rage. Still, I never felt like this the last time... This has to be something different."

"I did feel my connection to the speed force increase during the last battle. Probably had something to do with two meta-humans with connection to the speed force battling against one another."

"And that temporal manipulation too, the ability to manipulate and control time is definitely the icing on the cake. I'll have to delve deeper into all of these after I get better."

Feeling better than he did when he came in, he got up and left the room to meet up with the others at the particle accelerator prison where they would definitely be.

Getting to the meta-human prison, he could see Caitlin and Cisco monitoring him while dissecting the nature of energy around Zoom. Cisco pointed out earlier that it was a little bit different from Barry's.

"Should we just try questioning him?" Caitlin can monitor his brainwaves while we ask him questions and we can stick with the yes or no questions.

"Nah, let's just drop this one. He is a scientist and a speedster. He can just slow down the activity of his brain when he's talking, and we wouldn't be able to tell which is which. Heck, he might even mislead us." Barry said. "I think where we are right now is good enough for now. We don't have to rush things."

They spoke for a while before Barry decided to leave and head home to take a day off to fully recover. There had been no cases he'd been called for since Joe managed to track down Zoom.

BARRY'S APARTMENT

Getting home, he flipped the light switch and was startled. A man in a black tuxedo sat comfortably on his lounge chair, sipping some tea from his favorite mug. Barry raised an eyebrow as they met each other's gaze.

He immediately got up, laying the cup gently on the side table. "I was waiting for you for a while now, Barry. To clear the doubts you might have at present, my name is Bruce, Bruce Wayne. You might have heard of me before, Wayne Industries?"

"Batman?" Barry said, a tinge of shock layering his voice.

Now it's Bruce's time to be taken aback. 'How does... Never mind, I'll attribute it to his own intelligence network. Makes him all the more interesting.'

"Well, why might you be looking for me?"

"I... We need your assistance. I'm putting together a team of fighters with unique abilities to face a disaster-level threat from another universe. An alien that goes by the name, Darkseid."

"He's a being that possesses power of gods. A conqueror of world who has managed to subjugate a lot of planets. And now he's deemed Earth as his new target for conquest. His estimated time of arrival is approximately one week. And based on the trajectory of his ship, he'll be arriving at Metropolis. Of course, where the strongest 'warrior' on earth is. I'm putting together a team to better our chances of defeating him."

"I've seen what you can do, how you've managed to keep this city safe and I believe that you'll be able to fill a necessary gap in this team. What do you say?" he finally asked, looking him straight in the eye as he awaited his reply.
