Potential

The home crowd roared as Adrian scored an amazing goal, he celebrated with his hands up in the air as he knelt down on the ground. His teammates slapping him and high fiving him as he was awestruck from the crowd's cheering.

As the sounds dissipated, the game continued as the momentum was now in Accrington's favor. They immediately pressed and went on to intercept the ball, going for a counter attack as soon as possible. But Forest Green won't let them pass or even get a touch inside the box as their game plan went from counterattack to full on defensive formation. 

With a 5-3-2, their defense was now unmovable. The only way Adrian and his team could score a goal was for them to attempt a long shot or force a corner. Since getting a touch inside the box seemed impossible from the extremely tight defense.

At least it looked, Sean dribbled past 3 defenders with little effort as he attempted to make a lofted pass but it was quickly cleared by a defender who forced a throw-in. 

After gathering the ball, Jake Bickerstaff threw the ball in to Adrian, who didn't expect it as he rattled and sent crossed it into the penalty area as Seamus Connely successfully controlled the ball and tried to tap it in, though the keeper reacted quickly as he caught the ball.

It was a great possession, even though Adrian carelessly crossed it, he was lucky that one of his teammates was in great position.

As time went on, Forest Green increased their aggressiveness, pushing Accrington into their own half as they were bombarded with multiple shots that were mostly not in target. 

In the 90th minute plus 2 minutes of stoppage time, a corner was taken by Forest Green, the taker crossed it outside the box. The receiver successfully controlled the ball and attempted a shot outside the box, Adrian scrambled to block it as he stuck out his left leg backwards, successfully stopping the ball as it ricocheted and hit the bar. 

But as things looked safe, the opposing team's striker headed the ball in the goal. This caught everyone in surprise as they couldn't believe that he had managed to sneak past and score a goal. 

A whistle then blew, indicating that the player was offside. This gave a wind of relief to the players as they were happy that the goal didn't count. As almost everyone in the pitch were walking, Adrian sprinted down the right flank as he wanted to get in a good position to either score a goal or receive a pass. The keeper seeing this hurriedly kicked the ball to the other side of the field.

Adrian scanned the field and saw that the last defender was on the opposite side of the pitch. He looked backed and saw the ball coming in his direction, taking almost everyone by surprise he controlled the ball. The defenders seeing this rushed at him, despite him being much younger he did not have as much pace as the other players so two defenders caught up to him. He scrambled at first nearly losing the ball but decided to calm down and slow down his pace, letting the two get in front. As soon as they stopped running, he used their off balanced posture and dribbled through them.

First he stepped over the ball and then performed an Elastico, making both of the defenders crash into each other. He scanned the field one more time, he saw the left full back closing in and did the unthinkable. From outside the box he attempted a trivela, using the outside of his boot he curled the ball to the near post of the keeper. 

As time slowed down the ball kept going higher, too high for the keeper to reach the ball as it looked destined for the goal. But this was not a shot Adrian practiced a lot, so the ball kept getting higher and higher as it hit the post. It ricocheted down into the keepers back as the ball bounced, and bounced and bounced once more as it slowly but surely went inside the net.

It was now 2-1 Accrington Stanley FC. Adrian scored both of the goals, and the possible winner as Adrian ran down to their bench as he was swarmed by teammates and staff alike. Celebrating as if there was no tomorrow, they raised him up in the air as if he was a king. The crowd joined in as some fans got through the guards and celebrated with the players. At first some ignored the young man as they thought he was merely a random kid that had no potential. But they were wrong, the fans, staff and even the players now acknowledged him. He had potential, potential to be world class.
