Chapter 70: Pizza

Logan reached out and grabbed my hand from across the table. The girl scurried off quickly while avoiding eye contact. I was barring my canines slightly, my wolf wanted to transform and fight. She was a bold little fox. I could catch her swiftly in wolf form and tear into her throat even faster. My glowing eyes followed the girls escape towards the kitchen. Oh, how I loved a good chase.

Logan said, "Look at me". I ignored him waiting until she was out of sight. He said again this time seriously and dominantly, "Look at me Little Wolf". My head turned reluctantly towards him. My wolf instead yielding to his command.

When I finally looked at Logan he was starting at me from across the booth. He smiled and said, "She is not a threat to you. Don't pay her any attention, the same way I did not. She is young and naive. I am here with you and that is all that matters". His words made me relax slightly but my wolf still growled in response, "Mine".

Logan's eyes flashed gold ever so quickly then back to his chocolate color. His breath hitching for just a moment. His thumb rubbing softly against the back of my hand. The electricity in the air had my skin flushing in warmth. Was it getting really hot in here or was it just me?

I pulled my hand away and grabbed my glass. I took in a gulp of cold water and Logan did the same. He never responded to my wolfs word and I was sort of thankful. I don't think either of us was ready to go down that road yet, especially after My wolf scared off James the same way. Some sadness and a bit of panic that I might scare of Logan too edged at the corner of my mind.

Logan feeling my mixed emotions said, "It's okay, Little Wolf. I know I'm irresistible". I snorted out a laugh and water almost came out of my nose. He knew just what to say to lighten the mood.

This time Joey dropped off the pizza and a couple extra plates with a slight bow. Logan nodded to him and off Joey went back into the kitchen. Tony must have sent him back out here to make a good impression.

We dug into the food now that we were alone with it. Pizza was everything I could have imagined! The cheese was hot and the sauce, oh don't get me started on the sauce... it was melting in my mouth with deliciousness. And all the meat on top, perfect! I could eat pizza every day!

I was scarfing down each bite and not very lady like might I mention. After my third slice I looked up with a mouthful to peak at Logan who was watching in astonishment. "You really like pizza, huh?", he asked. I smiled with a mouthful and continued on.

He finished off half the pizza himself and after four slices I was stuffed beyond belief. What I wouldn't do to go back home and lay in the sun for a nice nap. The thought of home made me smile to myself.

Logan asked, "You ready to get going? We have a long night ahead of us". I responded, "Yes", and Logan gave a little nod to Joey. Joey brought us the check, thirty five dollars showed as the total on our bill. Logan sat down three one hundred dollar bills and got up.

He held his hand out to me and I looked at him then the money quizzically. That was a lot of money to leave here. He said, "We support family owned businesses and they are family". I knew he meant pack but I now understood completely. Him and his brothers not only brought supernaturals together but they also supported them.

I took Logan's hand and back to the truck we headed.
