Change of Plans

Everyone present clearly understood it was the light family head addressing them as they had also understood what she meant by some legends reign true.

Just seeing the divine dragon flying through the sky felt like witnessing a shooting star in slow motion, it felt as if they had been bathed in an understanding of the world and its laws so deeply that they had to experience it for themselves.

Some stopped what they were doing and began meditating on the spot while those more curious wanted to seek the origin of what they witnessed today.

Nonetheless everyone present Lucian and Althea's parents knew what they witnessed today was a treasure of incomparable measure.

Lucian and Althea rode through the forest path where Althea undid their veil before they crossed paths with any other people.

"Is this something you do regularly? Just go places and stir up some type of commotion?" Althea asked.

Immediately Lucian was reminded of his past lives and past experiences where his anamolous appearance places would cause stirrings in many places as rumors of a magic man would spread through the land due to his abstractness in such a concretely normal world somehow seeming to change the very atmosphere in some places.

He smiled wryly while rubbing his head, "this is the first time anything like this has happened." He responded still trying to gather his thoughts and understand why a divine dragon would give him their child so willingly.

Althea slowed down the snowmobile while glancing back towards Lucian and only shaking her head before giving the machine a full throttle as the whisper through the forest path.

The quick jolt of Althea making the machine go faster made Lucian instinctively wrap his arms around Althea as to not be thrown back.

The quick development caused her face to flush and her to almost lose control of the machine as she prepared to berate Lucian before she realized he was just trying not to fall off.

She slowed down the snowmobile before she coughed lightly and said, "You can remove your hands now." which were placed firmly on her stomach clasped together.

Hearing this Lucian's face also flushed, in al the life's he experienced there weren't many women with whom he had fallen in love or become intimate or close with. He could count them with a single hand, so naturally he felt slightly awkward having already become so close to Althea.

"My apologies I…" Lucian began before Althea cut him off and changed the subject.

"It was my fault I shouldn't have accelerated like that, anyways how about we make a bet and see who gets the most achievement points from the adventurers guild once we join?" She proposed.

Todays events piqued her interest in Lucian she wanted to see how far he would go and if they would become like the current matriarch of the light family and the family's protector.

Hearing this Lucian at first mentally disregarded it until he remembered his friendly competition with one of his past lovers.

They were scholars in a world on the brink of an Industrial Revolution and her proposal was who would make the largest contribution to the advancement of their world. Naturally at the end of their lifetimes Lucian's contribution was second to none, but for a while she had pushed him far more than he could had gotten if he had been alone in his endeavors.

"Are you there?" Althea asked shoving her elbow back softly poking Lucian in his ribs.

"Sorry I was lost in thought, sure there's no way you can beat me, but I welcome you to try." Lucian spoke pridefully while slightly poking out his chest.

Due to their closeness on the snowmobile Althea had a clear picture of Lucian's prideful antic despite him being seated behind her.

"Yea right, I can't wait to see the look one your face once I teach you humility." Althea responded in jest as she whipped her hair slapping Lucian in the face with it.

To this Lucian only laughed boisteriously, she was prideful just like his lover in his past life this warmed his heart a bit causing him to lower his unconscious defenses slightly to Althea.

They rode for a bit longer before they reached the port where the snowmobiles were docked for charging.

They left the snowmobiles there surprised to see their parents waiting waiting for them there with bright smiles on their faces.

They approached their parents to which both of the youths parents embraced them with big hugs, "A slight change in plans, we spoke with the matriarch and we agreed to let you guys go earlier so that we don't hold up your training for unnecessary downtime, that carraige over there is waiting for you, also we went ahead and had your rooms stored in storage rings so you won't be missing any of your personal items." Luthor spoke as he was excited his son was almost walking the same path as him by joining the adventurers guild. The only difference was he was being endorsed by the leaders of the light family down that journey.

Luthors Wife and Althea's parents shared these same sentiments as they gave parting hugs and parting gifts.
