Chapter 3: Attempted Escape And Revelations

Wolfgang's eyesight was of course blurry when he got born. He couldn't see much, but he did see the woman that talked and gave him his new name, Ramiel.

'Who is this woman? And why am I the guide of humanity? I don't like where this is going.' He got concerned and thought he was in a cult or something.

"Excellent! They have been born without faults! My greatest creations!" Hojo cheered and the now reborn Ramiel tried squinting his eyes on the person that shouted out.

With his blurry eyesight that was basically blind, he outlined the person and he had a lab coat on. At least, that was his conclusion.

'Hmmm, this guy's probably the one who put us under the experiments huh? You're definitely gonna be dead later you crazy guy.' Ramiel remembered his voice and would patiently wait.

He then heard a cry, seeing another silhouette that was small. As small as him, with tufts of silver hair unlike his jet black ones.

'So that's my sibling huh? My mother did tell me it was a beautiful girl. I guess I have a sister. Hah, how will I take care of a sister? I didn't even have a brother back home.' Ramiel sighed in his mind.

He was an only child, because of poverty. His parents didn't really want to have another mouth to feed. Things were difficult, and thankfully they were sensible enough to not add more kids. But, he didn't know what or how it feels to have siblings.

'Eh, I'll just wing it. I'm free now! I have more room to move!' Ramiel was ecstatic, he could train better and not hurt his mother or sister. But his stomach rumbled, so he decided to feed on his mother's milk for now.

He then slowly got more drowsy, probably sleepy from being exhausted. Child birth wasn't only hard for the mother after all, he put in a lot of effort as well.

Ramiel woke up via a weird feeling, he got concerned and tried to look around. But he found nothing. Especially because his underdeveloped vision couldn't help him much.

But he did see a little distance away in what seemed to be a bassinet that there were IV lines. So he tried feeling for his arms, but was thankful that he had one in his umbilical cord.

'So they're already trying to do something? Damn, what is it now?' Ramiel saw something red on one of the tubes. It was blood, their blood was being drawn and he concluded that it must be for further testing or something.

'Wait, the other bag that has a milky white fluid must be total parenteral nutrition. So they've distanced us from our mother... I have a bad feeling about this.' Ramiel started making conclusions, but it was too early to believe in them. So he just waited and continued on in flexing his muscles for more development.

In another room. Hojo, the mad scientist that began the Jenova project on unborn children. Was having a mighty fun time trying to unveil the secrets of the newborns.

"Hojo, what do you mean that I can't see them?" Lucrecia had a faceoff with him as Hojo gave his orders while she was unconscious. That she will be unable to raise them. And the twins will be in an environment that will make them perfect.

"It's as you have heard, Lucrecia. They aren't just your child anymore. They're ancients! Well, at least one of them is. The boy is more biologically attuned to Jenova! He is the perfect specimen, he will be the one who will lead us! And he cannot have such imperfections like having a mother." Hojo chuckled and Lucrecia was shocked.

"What!? A-are you distancing them away from me!? And you will raise them in a controlled environment?" Lucrecia couldn't believe it and due to just birthing the twins, she was really unstable hormonally.

"Why yes, this is only logical. They can't have imperfections. The girl might not be at the same level, but she will still be a valuable asset. And they will support each other splendidly." Hojo had a wide grin on his face and Lucrecia could see the insanity.

She then started to get depressed, walking out of the room feeling hopeless. She was just one person, how could she ever hope to oppose Hojo who was the chief researcher. As Gast, the former head has deserted Nibelheim because of unknown reasons.

Lucrecia agonized and she gritted her teeth. She then tried making plans of escaping the facility.

Ramiel just waited for the days to pass by. His vision was already being developed nicely. And he could feel that he has a lot of structural integrity in his body.

'Maybe I can crawl around already or something? Wow, those things they put in me made me stronger for sure.'

Ramiel looked at the bassinet beside him and could see that his sister Alexandra was being a little frisky baby. Moving her limbs already and trying to get out of her bassinet or something.

'Ahh, at least she has a fast development too. I hope it's faster mentally as well, I'll go crazy if the only person I can talk to is a baby.' Ramiel chuckled in his mind.

He then heard the door open and a woman that was panting. "Ramiel, Alexandra! Come on my babies, let's get out of here." Lucrecia took off the tubes from their umbilical cords quickly and carried them.

'Ahhh, shit. I knew that something bad was gonna happen. But I didn't expect that our mother is a scientist as well. I hope we get out of here safely at least.' Ramiel closed his eyes and prepared for a bumpy ride.

Alexandra cried, but they were close enough that Ramiel could give a comforting hand to his sister and she stopped bawling.

Lucrecia ran away, panting hard. With two babies in her hands. She tried to escape to the best of her abilities.

"Just a bit more! So close!" Lucrecia muttered as they were nearby the exit. She punched in the code quickly and looked behind her, not really seeing any pursuers or hearing alarms.

She smiled at her children and thought that she was going to escape. But when the door opened up, she was surrounded by Shinra's troops.

Lucrecia got downtrodden and she lost strength in her knees. Falling down on the ground, losing hope that her children would live controlled lives like lab rats.

"Tsk tsk, Lucrecia... I thought you'd know better. But you betrayed your research just like Gast. I trusted you." Hojo clicked his tongue and shook his head.

The Shinra troops snatched the kids from her bosom and Lucrecia couldn't do anything. "You are now exiled from here. That's the last thing I'll do for you. Lucrecia Crescent, goodbye." Hojo gestured the soldiers to take her away and he took the children back to the facility.

"No! They're my children Hojo! Give them back to me!" Lucrecia tried struggling, but she was just a scientist.

'Damn, I knew it. She should've bided her time more. Probably went unstable due to child birth and got antsy.' Ramiel sighed in his mind and thought that at least he'll still be with Alexandra. Better than nothing.

'I guess the brainwashing and programming will be next. It's time to do my part I guess. Wait a second, did I hear that name right? Professor Hojo?' Ramiel had a realization and he tried remembering that name.

'Isn't that the crazy motherfucker in final fantasy 7? And we're experimental children... Then I'm supposed to be Sephiroth!? I have black hair though... Shit, my sister is Sephiroth. I'm completely new here. Genesis, you crazy old man.' Ramiel was shocked and couldn't believe it.

'What do I do? I played final fantasy 7 for a few hours only... I was too busy back then to try and survive. Let's see, calm down. I know that Sephiroth would become crazy because of learning the Jenova project. I need to prime my sister for this crap.' Ramiel unexpectedly formed a goal and began to make countermeasures.

He needed to be careful, or his sister will fall to insanity because of the shock that she was an experiment.

'No, I'm here now. She won't go crazy, probably. But shit, I only know tidbits of the story. Fuck it, future me will handle it. The future has changed already with me in it anyways.' Ramiel left it for the future and would try to ground his sister for now.

If he remembered correctly, Sephiroth was a lonely person that got betrayed by the only friends he had. And the final straw were the notes in Nibelheim that described the Jenova projects.

'It's all the fault of this crazy fucker, Hojo and Shinra. I guess I need to reverse engineer Jenova's cells. Damn, I'm a doctor. Not a genetic engineer for god's sake.' Ramiel sighed at all the work he'd need to do for the future. But it was fine, it's all for a peaceful tomorrow.

'I need to find Gast and have him help me with this crap. It all started with him anyways.' Ramiel started planning and he called it project Minerva. The opposite of Jenova who wants to destroy everything.
