Ch 165 – An Unfortunate Encounter

Isaac, on the other hand, quickly calmed down and his mind entered the Akashic Library without hesitation. It was almost by instinct as he felt a deep hunger to know who she was, her deep secrets, her entire history, her power, her cheat. He wanted to know everything about the mysterious girl and be in full control of the situation.

When you have the literal library that holds every piece of knowledge to exist, of course, you would use it.

'Hmm?' As he spent countless hours or even days inside the Akashic Library, he raised his eyebrows as they gleamed with curiosity.

'There is zero indication about her cheat… strange. And if I try to find the most optimal way to kill her and make her my servant, nothing shows up.' He hummed lightly as he closed the book in his hand and turned his head to the endless ceiling that never ends, where countless floors holding countless bookshelves and books were seen.

'My first real test, huh? You want me to deal with her on my own without relying on the Akashic Library? Bravo! You have enlightened me on my overreliance on the Akashic Library. Very well, I shall accept! You have thrown be a good challenge, then I must show you a good performance in return!' Isaac put back the book in place, and his vision changed once more.

Instantly, he was greeted by the pair of blue eyes once more and he smiled lightly, showing his amicableness. Standing up, he subtly used his thousand years of life experience to make the girl calm down while he approached her.

"You want to sit somewhere quiet?" Isaac lightly whispered, shocking the girl awake out of her trance from Isaac's unparalleled beauty.

'Who… Who is this guy? He's even more handsome than Qian Feng!' Clover blushed lightly before breathing deeply to calm herself down. She was now meeting a fellow cheater for the first time, this made her subconsciously anxious and scared, but she held confidence in her own luck that would save her from any danger!

"Sure," Clover replied with a smile and Isaac giggled.

"No need to be so scared, we just met with each other and you're acting like I'm going to bite you the next moment. C'mon, this is also my first time meeting a fellow wielder of this unique power," Isaac patted her back, calming her down and making her subconsciously relax. Using his thousand years of life experience, manipulating a young girl like Clover Fourleaf was as easy as taking ice cream from a baby, the only thing he needs to worry about is her unknown cheat.

Quicky, the two sit down in a relatively quiet part of the casino and Clover finally calmed down fully. Now calm, she stared at Isaac in front of her who just smiled at her while sipping on some apple juice in a glass to act like he was drinking alcohol which she found funny.

"First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Isaac Deathwill, a student of Seoul High and part of Class 1-A," Isaac quickly initiated a small conversation. He didn't once mention the cheat and subtly indicated that he cared more about her than her special power.

Moved, she coughed and introduced herself: "My name is Clover Fourleaf."

"Fourleaf? Wow, I'm quite envious that you live in such a well-off family. This might be too revealing for our first time meeting each other but I am an orphan, so I lived a pretty poor life since young. Don't worry, I treat it as my badge of honor, so no need to feel pity," Isaac quickly rambled on and on.

With that, the two quickly got to know each other and Isaac's acting capabilities and manipulation skills made Clover feel like she was talking to a friend she had for years already.

"Ohoho, to think a 15-year-old girl is entering casinos. Quite mischievous are we," Isaac smiled.

"Not like you're any better! Besides, I have a valid reason for entering this casino," Clover chuckled as she smiled brightly. The more she talked with Isaac, the more she became friendly with him.

But Isaac was a thousand years old monster, he knew what buttons to push for the youngster in front of him. And after hearing what she said, he quickly replied: "What valid reason? You're just a rich young mistress who wants to waste some money. Unlike me, I'm here to represent my friend and earn some money for my group."

"Hey! Don't be so judgemental and prejudistic just because I was born into a rich family. And besides…" She paused for a second, before continuing: "It's related to my special ability."

"Your cheat?" Isaac quickly pounced upon the chance.

"Cheat?" Clover asked.

"That's what I named my special power. You know, it makes me feel like the main character in a story because they all have their cheat," Isaac explained while chuckling.

"Huh, I guess it is a cheat in a sense. But yes, I'm going to the casino because of my cheat! I'm not a wasteful young lady that you think I am," Clover explained.

Just from that alone, Isaac quickly utilized his Level 8 Mind along with his special AI to quickly form multiple potential cheats, and the most plausible ones quickly alerted him. Without wasting time, he quickly moved back into the Akashic Library and rush towards a certain section named 'Luck'.

While reading, Isaac's mind rapidly accelerated and he created multiple possibilities: 'If she does have a cheat—which on its own already boosts our luck to broken level—that is related to luck, then she'd clearly have luck that is at the level that can warp reality in her favor! Any malicious thoughts against her would quickly make the source of maliciousness suffer misfortune!'

Luck is a mysterious incorporeal law of reality that everything has. From humans, animals, even villages, cities, mountains, rivers, clouds, planets, stars, galaxies, and even the entire universe! Everyone and everything have their own luck.

Luck is an omnipotent power that, when strong enough, can even warp reality itself to the holder's favor! The most famous example is called Deus Ex Machina, where something completely random comes to save the day of the holder of immense luck.

It can be from a God coming to save the day, to a meteor that lands against a Kaiju, killing it in the process.

A being that has high luck has the literal world siding with them. Disasters are lucky opportunities, and lucky opportunities would become heavenly opportunities!

Alarmed, cold sweat broke out throughout Isaac's body as he quickly went to take countermeasures against any potential level of luck. With Braun as a role model, Isaac's paranoia has of course increased throughout the months as Braun's pawn and Vessel.

From hypnotization, brain division, severed consciousness, and such. He did everything to prevent himself from directly having 'malicious' thoughts against Clover.

'This would do for now. Now I only need to find out what her cheat is, and everything would go on from there.' Isaac nodded his head one final time and had his consciousness return to the physical world.

"Oh? Casinos and a cheat? Do you perhaps have a cheat related to money?"

"No, guess again!" Clover grinned cheekily.

"Hmm, casino… Oh, your cheat is related to luck!"

"Bingo!"

"Then, what does it do?"

"No fair, you should reveal your own cheat first," Clover pouted.

Grinning, Isaac chuckles and leans forward, whispering out his words softly: "I have the ability to revive anyone from the dead endlessly. Even myself."

Shocked, Clover almost shouted out in shock and held it in. With that, she also explained her own cheat to Isaac. From her ability to inspect luck, to Isaac's own level of luck, her own luck, the ability to steal and transfer luck, etc.

Within a short period of time, Isaac's own understanding of luck quickly rose at breakneck speeds and his heavily manipulated mind thought of one thing, a plan that doesn't harm Clover in any way and would allow him to utilize her cheat for his own: 'It seems like love truly is an omnipotent power higher than Luck.'

Normally, Isaac would already have thoughts of wanting to make any other cheater his Servant, a completely loyal being that wouldn't betray him in any way or form. But Clover's luck was terrifying, Isaac even estimates it's at the precipice of reaching Level 9, the Level of Gods! Nobody on Earth could rival her luck! So he could only do the next best thing, make Clover fall in love with him and utilize normal means to make her his pawn.

But who knows, maybe if he's lucky enough, he'd be able to do something *wink wink*.

And so, Isaac quickly made up his mind and knew that the plan was to be put in motion instantly.

Even with heaven-defying luck, Clover is still a normal girl and isn't Isaac's match, an undead Lich that has reached the peak of Z-Rank and has been called the Emperor of Death! He has studied and researched nearly every path of magic in his home world, Tellus, and has acquired a deep understanding of the laws of reality.

He was a true old monster, a cunning fox that has lived longer than a millennium! After studying nearly all paths of magic for so long, he'd obviously have a deep understanding of the minds of others, ranging from beasts to man.

Before, he would even be able to make the most beautiful elf fall in love with him as an undead lich for an experiment. And now? His target is a normal girl whose only 15 years of age!

It was akin to playing easy mode for somebody of Isaac's caliber.

With confidence, Isaac laughs lightly and drinks his cup of apple juice, for he now faces Braun's test with unparalleled confidence.
