Rabon Fooz's POV-

"Choosing the sword means indulging yourself into anger, self-loathing, and..... Loneliness. " The voice drifted away. His story was weird there was no explanation as to why he suddenly became evil. But who was I to judge I didn't go through things he did so I would not hate him. But there was still one doubt I had.

"I understand what you told me but even then it's hard to believe that no one chose the sword in thousands of years. " I asked him

"Take a step into the dark side and you will know the answer. " The voice replied. I abided by his request and took a step into the dark side. The moment my

whole body got immersed in darkness, heavy pressure descended on me. I immediately felt fear and anxiety due to the pressure. I went back to my

original position again and the feelings went away.

"With each step, the pressure will increase and it will become suffocating to continue at the end. Now take a step on the light side. " He said.

I took the step not knowing what to expect but I was surprised when my body felt as light as a leaf. It was like I was going to meet a lover in autumn without any care in the world. I felt so happy that I could cry. It was addictive, I was tempted to take another step but I controlled myself and took a step back all the feelings fading away.

"This is the reason no one can acquire the sword. Everyone wants to be loved and be happy and armor provides it. Symbolically too, armor saves life and the sword takes it. Now that I have shown and told you everything, make a choice. " He said.

There was no point in asking which one I would choose. But there was one thing that was stopping me from doing it. When I stepped into the dark side I felt something from the sword, it was afraid too. It was also lonely, it also wanted to be loved, and it also wanted a partner. Should I be judging something just on a story? The story does make the King look like a bad guy but we don't know what pushed him there.

"So what do you wish? " The voice asked again. I looked at the armor and then at the sword. I had to make a choice but... Why.....

"I... I can't decide. " I told him my decision.

"What do you mean? Do you want more time? You can come again tomorrow if you want. " The voice told me.

"No... I can never decide. Choosing one would mean that I left the other without hearing their true story. It's better if I don't choose at all. " I replied. The sword may look bad but nobody knew what it went through.

"Don't we have any other option? " I asked the voice. The voice kept silent

for some time.

"There is a way but it's dangerous to do it. " He warned me.

"No worries. Just tell me. " I said with confidence.

"You can take the trial without armor or sword. But no one has done it before. "He took a pause and then continued.

" The trial is supposed to be a fight. A fight with the side you didn't choose. You choosing none means you have to fight against both of them. "He said in a grim tone.
