ch 43- No problem

Bala's POV-

Nobody knew but every day after school I was out there finding more information about the garden. Just talking to my classmates was enough for me to know that Rabon and Givi were from the garden. But I did more research and found out they were not bad people and would not hurt someone. When Mirik lashed out that why we were hanging out with them, I had to act like I didn't know what was happening. If Kiara were to get this information that they were related to Garden she would have just attacked them. So it was better to hide it from them.

We reached the infirmary where Rabon was sitting reading a magazine beside the unconscious Kiara.

"What the hell happened out there?" Rabon asked after seeing injuries on me.

"Nothing, just a bit of sparring," I said as I lay on an empty bed.

"I will go and call the doctor." Rabon ran to call for a doctor. I smiled knowing that I made the right decision by not judging them. They had good hearts even if they were a part of Garden. But this was as much sympathy I could provide them. If I had to choose between them and my mission I would without a doubt.....shit, why am I hesitating?

I closed my eyes to calm myself down. An old memory resurfaced itself. Father and I climbed trees for fun. Climbing up a tree can be tedious but the feeling of accomplishment you get after reaching the top was one of a kind. I would climb the tree like a monkey but my father would take ages to get there. But he would laugh like a child when he reached me.

"Isn't it fun father?" I asked him excited.

"Yeah, it surely is." He replied while rubbing my hair.

"The sense of accomplishment you get at the end is so much fun," I said while laughing out loud.

"It is not the accomplishment that matters. It is fun because you are with me. I could climb trees every day if I want. I would get happy when would finally reach the top. But after some time that feeling of triumph will be lost. But if I am with you doing it every day it would just become more fun. Don't worry about the end goal if it's not fun for you. It's the people with whom you reach the end goal that makes it enjoyable." He said profoundly.

At that time I didn't get him but now that I was older it was a different story. I know sometime in the future Rabon and Givi might become our enemies. Will I be able to face them? And what about Kiara? She might fight them in anger but the guilt that comes after would make her die from inside. And that chain on her neck will only make it harder for her to control her anger.

I looked at Kiara sleeping peacefully on the infirmary bed without any care which made me smile.
