Different worlds?

Shirley looked at her, and pinch her in her side.

" Stop drinking like that or else you will get drunk, " she whispered to Lillian

Shirley knew that Lillian cannot drink a lot. She always gets drunk quickly. If she drinks more than two glass, she will get drunk and embarrass her friends.

" Relax your wits, I only drank one glass of wine,"

" I know that but if you are drunk, do you want to embarrass yourself in front of your ex-boyfriend you haven't seen for three years, " That is the last thing, Lillian wants to do. She can't embarrass herself in front of him. Lillian stopped drinking her wine.

The guy who talked about Austin engagement looked at Lillian then to Austin.

" Why did you mention his engagement?" Nina whispered to him. Lillian has been in contact with her but she has never mentioned his engagement to Lillian for fear that Lillian will get hurt. Only a few people know the reason why she broke up with him and she is one of them

" They broke up and it is three years, Austin has moved on so it is best for her to move on too and besides wasn't she the one that broke up with him?" he whispered back to her

Nina hit him

" Ouch, what did you do that for?"

" Are the two of you doing cat and dog fight?" a girl shouted

The others all laughed

Lillian looked at him and saw that he was eating beef. Lillian knows that Austin hates beef with all his might. While she was dating him, he always avoids eating beef and Lillian usually tease him about it. Lillian wondered why he eats the beef? But she knows that in 3 years, someone can change.

Few hours with torture looking at Austin and pretending everything is alright, we finally ended the school reunion and we all started going home. A black Range Rover car comes and picks up Austin. Austin left without giving Lillian an eye. Lillian knows that it will be the last time she will see him. Lillian get home and went to her room straight. She lay down on her bed and her hand was on her face. Someone knocked on her door.

" Lillian, open the door, " said Mrs. Tates. She is Lillian's mom. She cares about her daughter's well-being. She works as a housekeeper in secret without telling Lillian. She knows that if she tells Lillian, Lillian will not be happy with it.

Lillian stands up and opens the door for her mother.

Lillian sat down on her bed and her mother pulls a chair to sit down.

" How was the school reunion today?"

" It was fine,"

" Did you see him by any chance?" Mrs. Tate does not want to say it but she has to say it in order to make something clear to her. She knows how Lillian had a hard time forgetting about Austin.

" Yes, I met him, " Lillian said with no hesitation

" Did he say anything?"

" We pretended to not know each other,"

" That's good to hear, " her mother said with a reassuring smile on her face. " Lillian, if you see him ignore him or if he tries to talk to you, ignored him,"

Lillian didn't say anything.

" The two of you are in two different worlds, so remove every thought that the two of you will be together,"
