Fate/Independence

A/N- This story focuses heavily on the Magecraft and Magic aspect of Nasuverse. This is not just summoning and being a weak human master. MC's goal is to study Magecraft and Magic to its full potential and become a stronger being and get the f*ck out of Nasuverse ***** Reincarnating is not something Cael expected, that too not in fate franchise. Then again, his life has been unpredictable even to him. Screw the heroic spirits and God-damn holy Grail that won't grant wishes anyway. For him, it's just a part of the wide world. He decided he will research magecraft and do everything for his goal. The only thing within in expectations, To Reach the Root and attain Magic. ****** This is a quick paced story and not that great in my opinion. I just wanted to explore magecraft in fate. This story is originally in my wattpad account. If you already read it there, thank you, I hope you enjoyed the story.

Ch 29

"What is happening here?"

"We are reverse walking upside down and still going straight in the sky inside a cave that is inside the earth."

"That doesn't make any sense"

"Exactly, that's why it's called Mystery"

Cael answered once again. He's getting tired of answering Lenn but she is a magus that is witnessing miracles. For Cael, who is already capable of doing miracles, it isn't much but for Magus who's far away from Magic, these are a feast to the eyes.

It's already been some time since they entered the tomb.

But Common sense doesn't apply here. So, they might have stayed here for hours and only a second might pass in real time or vice-versa.

"That's a really weird creature"

While Lenn is enjoying the trip, Cael thought of something.

'Hmmm, I should create a magecraft that can make stands from Jojo's. Now that I think about it, 'Persona' from the Persona video game also has similar power system. Stands and persona's are the manifestation of the inner psyche of humans. Should I name stand magecraf-'

At that moment, Cael's other part of consciousness which is observing the world snapped him awake.

"Lenn, Snap out of it!"

Cael broke Lenn's hand, which made Lenn release a shrill scream.

He immediately healed her with healing magecraft and told her.

"You can complain later, listen to me. This is not real, I mean it is but not exactly. You need to have a clear goal in mind. Concentrate on that thought, just do as I say"

Lenn wanted to complain but she focused on what Cael said. The pain only lasted for a second which made her 'wake' up.

When Lenn opened her eyes again, she saw that she was sleeping beside Cael. She realized she had just woken up. They are both sleeping on Red Grasslands with Tree-like structures.

"Are we sleeping this whole time?" Lenn is confused everything feels real yet not at the same time.

"Not really, what we experienced is entirely real and happened but it will infinitely expand until we decide on what we want"

"How do you know that, Sir Cael?"

"It's complicated and I'm not sure if I can explain it"

'I did like a million calculations that are above human comprehension. I'm not sure if you can even understand one of them on how I realized that'

Due to the philosopher's stone evolution, his mental capabilities have transcended human limits of comprehension. Add to his already Genius intellect, he's a walking advanced Alien computer.

If an average human takes a lifetime to create and perfect a craft, Cael takes less than a day to create and perfect it.

Lenn didn't want to believe Cael's words but the place they are in is not run by common sense and they don't have time for chit-chat. So, she didn't question any further.

Cael on the other hand thought 'Stands are not a bad idea'

"Do you sense anything?"

"Yes, but I'm not sure about the direction"

Lenn could feel the resonance of the mystic code but she couldn't find it where.

As they were conversing, a portal opened up in the middle of the grasslands.

"A portal? heard they generally open up above the tomb of Albion leading normal humans into the tomb"

There are records of this happening. It is to be expected from a place of mysteries.

"Let's have a look at it" Cael walked towards the portal.

But Lenn is not having any of it "Sir Cael, wait. What if we entered a dangerous place?"

"Then, we are dead. There's nothing more to it. It's not like we have a choice"

Lenn remembered her mother's words. As a magus, she should do everything to reach the goal. There will be risk but it comes with a reward.

She followed Cael. As soon as they both exited the portal. It closed itself and they are walking 90° to Earth.

"Great, another confusing area but...Sir Cael, stop. I think I can sense the mystic code clearly now. Follow me"

Lenn started to run but then she realized she's slowing down the more effort she put in.

"Try to stop, you will gain momentum"

Cael's advice helped her and she tried to stop but the more she did, the faster she went.

Cael observing this phenomenon reminded him of his Logic Magecraft 'No, this is better than my Magecraft'

As he thought about it, his other consciousness focused on the stalkers following him.

'They must have good mystic codes to counter all the shenanigans. Still, they ended up in another place. So, I'm free for the whole time from the observation'

"Sir Cael, I don't know if it's true or not but I think I can see someone. "

"Oh, where?"

"There"

Cael saw a person exploring the cave. He is standing on earth unlike them who are walking 90° to the floor.

The man looked like a person from the past. His attire is DnD wizard robes and he has some books on his back.

He seem to sense them and he spoke " ye travelers of the days to come! Verily it hath been a great while since mine eyes didst behold such as thou."

Although, it's a bit odd. Both Cael and Lenn understood the meaning behind the words.

"That seems like English from before 8th century " Lenn said as she's quite good at history, she's able to figure it out, she's not sure but she knows she's close.

"The fact that he knows we are from the future means it's not rare" Cael is amazed by this as this is sort of a time travel that is only capable of true magic.

The Magus seems to understand Cael and said "Seldom doth mine eyes bear witness to magi from the days yet to be. In truth, I have encountered many a magus from the first unto the sixteenth century, yet those beyond that era are rare to mine sight."

"Oh, Clock tower must have become strict after the 16th century"

"Oh, art thou from the clock tower? I am a teacher in the department of Archeology there."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Magus of past, I'm- "

Lenn who is about to introduce herself is stopped in the middle due to an invisible force stopping her.

"I doth not advise thee to speaketh thine names aloud, for it may cause much strife in this sepulcher where the future, past, and present doth converge."

"I don't get half the things he said but, basically we should not reveal our names, yes?" Cael didn't understand the language but he could get it with his intuition.

"Yes"

The man's existence began to flicker, he warned them

" Verily, it seemeth that our time doth run out. I counsel thee not to tread further on this path. Mine knowledge doth extend to the abilities of magi yet to come. Yonder lie phantasmal creatures beyond this place. Take heed, and know that it doth bring me joy to meet thee, oh seekers of the future."

With that, his existence is replaced with a tree.

"There are phantasmal species beyond this place and If we encounter them, we will be minced meat with our modern capabilities which are inferior compared to the past, isn't it?"

"More or less" That's all Lenn could reply. Even she has a hard time understanding the old language.

'I need to construct the holy grail for its 'Omnipotent' knowledge later. It's such a pain to gather all this knowledge.'

Although, a mere imitation of the actual Holy Grail. A holy grail created with Alchemy still possesses potent power due to its concept that is rooted within humanity.

"We have to go there though, I can sense the mystic code at the exit of the place. The exact place where we aren't supposed to go" Lenn said bitterly.

"Alright, Let me prepare" Cael took a metal handle out of his pocket.

"Espada en agua, fluida y hábil. Poder transformado con humildad. Espíritu guerrero, implacable y fuerte. Incontenible como el mar, invencible en el momento "

The handle transformed and turned into a Blue lightsaber.

"A lightsaber?" Lenn exclaimed

"That's surprising, A magus from ancient magi lineage watches modern-day movies?"

"Hey, All Magus aren't the same. Our family is modernized and we follow the current trends" Lenn defended herself. She can understand Cael as most magi don't like anything modern due to it going against their principles.

"Anyway, this is not a lightsaber. I did take inspiration from it but this is water"

He then drew Runes on the water blade

"Rune magecraft? That seems like a waste of time and effort"

"Yet that same Rune Magecraft comes in handy in times like these"

Lenn still didn't care about Cael's defensive comment.

Rune magecraft is lost in this day and age. The Rune Magecraft of the modern day is a mere imitation and no one have ways to recover the Runes of Ancient days.

So, Rune Magecraft is disregarded as a waste of time in the Mages Association. Even Cael agrees that it's just a waste of time.

A Magus's goal is to reach the Root, not petty tricks like Rune Magercraft.

But Cael personally learned the Rune Magecraft because it's just cool.

Now that, Cael's Ichor is extremely potent. His Rune Magecraft has gained a tremendous boost.

After completing the Runes. The Water began spinning rapidly and became a thin stream.

"Be careful, even if this is just water, this mystic code can even cut through diamonds"

"So, It's like a Water jet cutter?"

"You got it, now follow after me"

Cael began walking towards the exit of the cave. He can tell that this plane is a lower kind. The moment he exited the place, they'll reach a higher plane where big threats await them.
