Chapter 19: Fairy swamp

Asher quickly takes the quest on his screen and the minutes remaining for him appear.

'Remaining time: 59:58'

They quickly leave the village of Altaria until they reach the fairy swamp, but there is something strange in the swamp. The water in the swamp has turned grey and close to pitch black.

"What is happening to this swamp?" Asher raised his eyeballs.

Persea tries to approach the surface of the recolored swamp water and sees that all the aquatic plants in the swamp have already died.

"I think this water has been poisoned by the darkness." Persea shakes her head. "Oh no, that's bad! I think this poison affects all living beings touching it."

"Argh! How are we going to get through this swamp?" Chronos continues to furrow his brow and grumble. "Damn creatures!"

"Chronos calm down, there must be a way to get through this swamp."

They decide to wander around and look for something they can use to get through the swamp as the clock ticks down.

'Remaining time: 40:30'

"Ah, Sh**!" Chronos stomped his foot in annoyance. "We've almost made up 19 minutes of our time and have gotten absolutely nothing."

Asher sighs and sits on the ground looking at the darkening swamp. "Ah, I don't know how to get through either."

Suddenly Asher sees a wooden boat lying not far from his position. He walks over to it with the idea of repairing it, but while trying to make it, the words "Crafting skill lv.4" suddenly pop up.

"Wait, crafting?" Asher furrowed his brows. "I should ask Chronos about this."

Asher calls Chronos and asks him directly about the crafting skill. Chronos explains the crafting skill is the same as the player's LUK status skill, so players who have a LUK lv 4 can do it.

"I have LUK lv 4." Chronos nods his head. "Wait, don't tell me you want to repair this wooden ship" Chronos furrowed his brows. "What about the materials?"

"Well, we can ask Persea for help in gathering some of the items needed." Asher snapped his fingers.

"That's a wonderful idea, Ash. " Chronos stroked his chin repeatedly. "All right, I'll start working on it, you cover me."

Asher nods and with Persea's help, Chronos starts repairing the wooden ship.

'Persea gives wood plank 2x, wood beam 2x'

The crafting process took a long time, Persea continues to search for the necessary materials while Asher looks after the dying elf chief.

'Remaining time 30:35'

During the running time, Asher keeps his eyes on the surroundings and sees the increasingly pale face of the elf chief. Suddenly, a strange movement appears from within the lake and seems to approach Chronos who is repairing the ship.

"I have to guard Chronos." Asher tightly held his staff and his eyes continued to notice the strange movement in the water.

"Laser light!"

Asher cast his skill and instantly the strange movement vanished. Soon after, Persea arrives with some ingredients required by Chronos.

'Persea gives 3x nectar, 3x vines'

'Remaining time 23:35'

The wooden ship is finally successfully repaired and they quickly board the wooden ship and pass through the contaminated fairy swamp. During the journey, Persea says it takes 10 minutes to get from the fairy swamp to Malana village, so we should arrive on time.

"Ah, I hope everything goes well ..."

Suddenly their ship is stuck among the roots in the fairy swamp, Persea uses her strength and tries to push the wooden ship away from the mass of roots. However, strange movements are seen from the swamp again and this time it looks more intense than before.

"Chronos, be prepared I think there are strange creatures around here." Asher gripped his staff tightly. "We have to take care of the elf chief, don't let him get hurt."

Suddenly something jumps from the surface of the water and immediately attacks Asher and Chronos. It looks like a long white worm with many sharp teeth. Chronos quickly cut down every creature and jumps at him and Asher continues to use his laser light skill, so the creature falls off the ship.

"I can't kill this creature! Persea, how is it?" Chronos hit the creature repeatedly until it went back into the water. "Damn it! What's taking so long!"

"Wait, it's almost detached from the roots of this tree." Persea continues to use her power and created a small wave to push the ship away.

'Time remaining 20:08"

Finally, the wooden ship successfully releases from the roots and they quickly pass through the swamp. However, the same creatures continue to chase them from behind and increase in number, making Persea use her scan ability.

"Hey, you can use your bomb items to kill this thing." Persea patted Chronos' shoulder who is beside her.

"Yeah, but that's not enough to kill all those horrible creatures." Chronos rolled his eyeballs. "There are too many of them!"

Asher and Chornos continue to repeatedly throw their bomb items until they manage to kill some of the wild sea worms.

'500 exp earned'

The exp notification spawns about 3 to 4 times, but the creatures are appearing more and more and unfortunately, their bomb items are running low. Persea decides to use her power again, creates a small tsunami wave, and blows the wild seaworm back into the lake.

The vibrations produced by the water wave that Persea created make everyone on the ship sway pretty hard. Asher and Chronos hold onto the wooden pole.

"Gosh, it's a good thing it's safe now." Asher sighs in relief. "The creature will not follow us, anymore."

"Ash, where's the elf chief? "Chronos' face instantly paled at the sight of the elf elder's figure disappearing from the ship.

"Holy Sh**, it's probably ...."
