Chapter 10 - Shopping Spree(Part 1)

Yawning while stretching his body, Stray woke up in a great mood. Getting up, he saw the flower he'd created had transformed into a yellow colored rose overnight. 'What kind of flower is this System? Is it safe?'

{Host I recommended to use the [Nature] skill to identify unknown plants and animals}

Stray was slightly confused at first, as he expected it to just explain what it was, but felt like he was better off learning how to use his skills to figure out things for himself in case he ever lost the System. Activating his Nature skill, he stared at the flower carefully. A rush of information appeared in his mind, which identified the flower as a Light Step Rose.

Light Step Rose is a magical flower that sends out a magical aura whenever a being it hasn't sensed before has entered within a 5ft radius of it. It grows in underground dungeons, caves, or other dark places. It's called a Light Step Rose because the only way to avoid detection by it is to literally walk using only your toes.

Stray plucked the flower and left his room with a smile on his face. Tossing the room key to the innkeeper on his way out of the inn, he put the yellow rose in his Inventory, before contemplating on whether or not to eat breakfast. Ultimately choosing not to, he walked towards where the shops he remembered were, and entered the closest one. Inside the shop was a counter, several shelves that held various labeled potions with their given price, and a barrel of herbs with a sign that read 'Randals Random Pick: 1 Gold Coin per herb'.

Walking towards the shelves, Stray saw anything from a simple healing potion, to an invisibility potion, to even a potion that changes your race for a day. The healing potion was for 50 gold coins, the invisibility potion was for 150 gold coins, and the 'Race For A Day' potion, as it was called, was for 50 Platinum Coins. Confused, he was about to ask the System, the man behind the counter spoke up. "A single Platinum Coin is worth 10 gold coins. 50 platinum coins is pretty much 500 gold coins."

Stray was stunned for a moment, as he wondered what kind of people would pay that much for this. At this thought, the man chuckled, and spoke up again. "Those are mostly popular with Rogues who work as spies, young Sorcerers, or Wizards studying transmutation magic." Stray finally turned to the man, as it seemed like the guy could read his mind. The man had frizzled red hair that stuck out in all directions as if he'd been electrocuted, heavy bags under his eyes, and scars all over his hands. The man waved his hand as if to dismiss Stray's thoughts.

"Sorry, I'm not a spellcaster of any sort, I'm just really good at reading people. Name's Randal, you must be Stray right? I saw you at the Clover Coin Guild. I'm one of the middle ranked members there, so it wasn't hard for me to hear about you." Randal explained, as Stray nodded in understanding. Staring at the wooden floor for a moment, Stray willed it to create a wooden chest. The wood grew itself according to his command, and he opened it. Smiling at his work, hovering his hand over the open chest, he sent exactly 1,000 gold coins from his Inventory to appear in the newly created chest.

Turning and pointing to the Race For A Day potion on display, Stray felt proud of himself seeing the shocked face of Randal. "I'd like two of this kind please." Randal quickly nodded, going into the backroom of the shop, and returning to place two of the identical grey colored potions on the counter. Stray grabbed the two potions and put both into his Inventory before leaving the shop.

Entering the next two shops, he didn't find much of anything that interested him, and both shops sold clothes of various styles. They mostly had items from stores in bigger cities that couldn't sell. The third shop however, sold weapons and armor. It was easily larger than both of the clothing stores combined, and Stray could see various adventurers browsing the selections. Although Stray felt pretty powerful compared to everyone else in town, he knew from his previous life not to be arrogant, and the idea of weapon fighting in anime always looked cool to him.

There was a problem however. It wasn't money or required talent, or time required to master it, rather Stray wasn't sure on what to even start with. The shop had almost every weapon imaginable, and even some he'd never imagined before. One such weapon was a cross between a massive katana, a spear, and a mace, that was over 10ft long! The sign in front of it stated it was a Chimera's Child, and it costed 1,800 platinum coins. Stray stared at this oddity for several minutes wondering who in the heck would pay 18,000 gold coins for something that doesn't even look usable. After seeing a female dwarf carrying a well used one over her shoulder nearby however, Stray decided to stop using common sense for a while.

He continued to browse through the various sections of the store, until a female in a uniform walked to him. Stray could tell that she was an employee, as he'd noticed other employees speaking and helping the other customers with various things. This girl was brown skinned, with dark green hair tied into a ponytail, and pointy ears like the blue haired elf he'd met yesterday. "Excuse me sir, do you need any help? If you're looking for a weapon, perhaps you'd like a shortsword or longsword? Both are currently on sale for 20% off." The girl talked a bit fast, but it wasn't difficult to understand her. "I'm not really sure what to get actually, I've never used a weapon before and this is my first time buying one." Stray responded, wondering to himself if this girl was an elf like Lia.

Update: The next mass upload date is going to be on the 25th, because I needed a break and only wrote two chapters. I'm really sorry, My IRL life isn't getting any better, but I'm pushing through.

I'm writing daily again now, I just won't be consistently writing two chapters everyday. I'll at least write one per day, and probably write two every two or three days when I'm in a happier mood.
