William Brandt x IMF!Girlfriend!Reader

Flicking through the file, you read through the information on the rich guy that you were about to seduce. Your heels clicked in the still air of the warehouse you were holed up in. The skirt of your dress swished against your legs and you noticed Brandt grumbled in the corner attempting to do his bow tie, "Why do I have to help her seduce this guy? More to the point she's my girlfriend do I have watch this?" You snorted, "Like I need help seducing this guy." Brandt made a face and shook his head from side to side mocking you. "Besides would you rather it was Ethan?" Brandt looked sulky, "no." He muttered like a petulant child. "Well then, you have to help me seduce the rich guy. Anyway it's a chance to see if you can actually seduce someone." Brandt scoffed and shook his head to one side, "I can seduce people." He told you arrogantly.

"Must you two flirt like this?" Luther sounded exasperated and resigned at the same time. Brandt grinned dorkily at him, you shrugged innocently. Turning back to Brant, you gave a chagrined smile, "need help?" He scoffed, "No." There was a pause, as you, Luther, and Benji all looked over at Brandt as Ethan entered. "Yes." He sounded resigned.

Moving over to him, you moved his hands away. You could smell the cologne he had used, the strong bergamot, nutmeg, clove, sandalwood, and citrus. It teased your feelings for the occasionally suave agent. He grinned down at you, your fingers were deft and swift when tying his bow tie. You straighten out his collar and Brandt flinched, "your hands are cold." He removed your hands from where they were adjusting his collar and clasped them in his own. "Seriously, why are your hands so cold?" You rolled your eyes. "Oh, I do apologise." He pulled them up to his lips and breathed lightly trying to warm them. The action was so intimate, it made your knees weak. He pressed a kiss to them, you smiled adoringly at him. "You know we have a case, right?" You pulled away as Ethan rolled his eyes at the pair of you. Moving you stepped towards the table, which was littered with paperwork, itineraries and office plans.

Brandt pulled up outside the opulent mansion. His door was opened as was yours by a smartly dressed man, you swung your legs out gracefully and adjusted the skirt to your dress, so it fell right. The young man took your outstretched hand and carefully pulled you to your feet. You smiled at him, before moving to stand by Brandt, he tucked your hand into the crook of his elbow. He turned his head, looking over his shoulder, his lips brushed your temple. "You look beautiful." You smiled up at him when he turned to look at you. "Flattery will not help you, honey." Brandt rolled his eyes, "worth a shot." There were various sighs echoing in your ear, each from Luther, Benji and Ethan.

The ballroom was opulent, almost bordering on overdone. A live band played in one corner, its music reaching the spacious area. There was a team of sharply dressed waiters who walked around with drinks and various small bites of food. You sported the rich guy talking with a bunch of men and young supermodels. "Aphrodite, you're up." Ethan whispered into the microphone. You rolled your eyes, slipping your hand from Brandt's elbow. "You know she doesn't like competition, right, Ethan?" Ethan made an agreeing noise, "Fine, Venus, you're up." You smiled, "Thanks Mercury." You could practically hear Ethan roll his eyes, Benji asked as you quickly thought through your ploy. "Why is he Mercury?" You smirked, "God of thieves, tricks, luck, among others." Benji chuckled as you moved seductively towards your target. You made eye contact with him before walking away but as you glanced over your shoulder you noticed that he wasn't following you with his eyes. "Minor problem, Mercury. I don't think I'm the one he's interested in. In fact I don't think seducing him will work. We may need another distraction."

Ethan sighed through his nose, "Neptune, kiss Venus, maybe he'll get jealous." You leaned on the bar with your forearms, ducking your head hiding your smile with Ethan's suggestion, and Brandt muttering, "You don't need to tell me twice." However, before he could. The suspect moved towards the pair of you muttering that nothing ever interesting ever happened at these parties. Brandt raised his eyebrows at your impish expression. "That doesn't give you permission to blow anything up." You pouted. "I have a plan." Brandt seemed hesitant, "But I don't know if now's the right time or how you'll take it." You shrugged, "is it just for show or real?" Brandt scrunched his face, "I'll let you know on that. Get ready Mercury." Benji made his own noise, "Who am I?" You smiled, "Apollo." Brandt snorted, "Back to work." Ethan muttered causing Brandt to stiffen slightly.

Brandt pulled you onto the dancefloor, when the song ended the pair of you were in front of the band. He dropped to his knees and pulled out a velvet box. He snapped it open and a ring glittered in the light. It was a simple gold band with three diamonds in the middle all the same size. He didn't anything just yet, you were frozen, emotions twisted inside and you couldn't figure out what they were. Couples stopped when they noticed what was going on. The band stopped, in a cacophonous way it does when they haven't been given the cue to stop, but they stop anyway, Brant's declaration stunning them, the way it stuns you. The rich guy came to the front to see what was going on and immediately tears up at the sight of Brandt proposing but you didn't notice nor did you hear Ethan say that he had the information and had left.

Brandt began to speak. The words sounded honest as if he'd been planning this for a while. The pure honestly, the way it fell from his lips, his stunned look, fear and hope swirling in his eyes. Fear that you wouldn't feel the same, hope that you did. All only seemed to cement that belief, that he'd been planning this, perhaps not quite like this but asking you this question. "Will you marry me?" You stare at him, and the world stares at you. Your own answer sounded honest and true even to your own ears. The yes, falling from your lips stuns him for a moment, a single moment is all it takes for the symphony of emotions to dance across his face, all combining to create just one emotion. Happiness, pure and unbridled happiness.

Back on the plane on the way back home, Brandt sat carefully across from you. You admired the ring he had slipped on your finger before facing him. "It was real, everything I said. I meant it. I had been planning this for a while or trying to and this wasn't how I planned to ask you." He stopped looking up and you. You slipped the ring off and handed it back. His head fell he looked crestfallen, "ask me again." He looked up at you, wide eyed. "Ask me again." You told him. "Y/N, will you marry me?" You smiled. "Yes, William, I will marry you." He looked thrilled, he rose from his chair and knelt beside you, and he slipped the ring on your finger and smiled up at you. You leaned down and kissed him, he kissed back with fervour. "I love you."
