Steve McGarrett x Daughter!Lucy

Your father pulled up harshly to the gates of your school. "Alright, out. I have a case. Love you." He leaned over the middle of the car and kissed your forehead as you unbuckled. You gave a forced smile that he didn't quite grasp the nature hidden in your smile. You got out of the car and shut the door with a little more force than intended.

You headed towards the school gates and moved up the stairs when you heard your father's car drive off. Chancing a glance over your shoulder, you saw that he had disappeared around the corner. Turning abruptly, you walked down the stairs, no one stopped you mainly because your father had dropped you off an hour before school would start. You walked down the street, ducking down a barely used alley when you saw the time was nearing the start of the school day. You neared the entrance to the beach that you usually used. Spotting a police cruiser you ducked back behind the building till it disappeared. You waited a few more moments before stepping out.

Finding a picnic table, you spread out your school work, grapping a few rocks to pin down a few spare pieces of paper. Using your pencil case, you pinned down the fluttering pages of your book. You sat there working ignoring the weird looks you received, explaining to those who asked that your school had a half day.

Near the end of the school day, you saw a couple of cops walk by, you kept your head down hoping they wouldn't recognise you. However, you had no such luck, Duke who knew your father personally showed up. He sat opposite you. "Why aren't you at school, Lucy?" You shrugged. "Does your dad know you're here?" You shook your head. He sighed lightly, "School's out in a few minutes let me take you home." You nodded, with a whispered thanks you began to pack up your gear. Duke dropped you off, he must have told your father what had happened as soon after you had entered your room, his car squealed into the driveway. You rubbed at your eyes.

Your father looked rather furious when he entered your room. "What were you thinking?" You shrugged, sniffing. Steve huffed, "Lucy, why did you skip school?"

"I didn't want to see all the popular kids get everything or steal my stuff or or or..." You broke off in sobbing hiccups, Steve's tough Navy façade cracked at the sight of his baby girl sobbing. He sat beside you on the bed and tugged you into his arms. Rubbing you back, he kissed your head, inhaling the slight scent of coconut. Steve began to talk about trivial things, mostly about how he felt about each of your big moments in life. Finding out your mother was pregnant with you, finding out you were a girl, your birth, naming you. You slowly began to calm down, Steve manoeuvred so that you were both lying down with you on his chest. You soon fell asleep with Steve following shortly.
