Jamison 'Jamie' Reagan x Twin Sister!Army!Reader

"Why are you doing in this? Why are you going back?" Jamie's voice rose at you as you packed your bag. "Is this because of Joe?" He questioned his voice getting rougher. "No!" You twisted shouting the word at him. You drew in a heavy breath, "No. I want to do this. I feel that call, like you did with joining the force. I don't want to be a cop, I wanted to join the army. I want to go back." The pair of you bickered and fought for the next hour. Your send off was tense with your family, especially with Jamie, you still hugged but you were both tense.

You came home early, you hadn't told your family. Arriving at your father's house, you looked up and sighed. Hefting your bag onto your shoulder, you headed inside. You flinched when your shirt rubbed too hard on your still healing back. You dropped your bag in front of the couch and picked up the bottle of whiskey that was placed on the drinks stand. You poured a glass and sipped at it.

Laughter bounced off the walls as your family entered the entryway of the house. Sean spotted you first, "Auntie Y/N!" He yelled, he raced around to hug you. Sean was followed by his brother and cousin. You hid your flinch as their hands slapped at your back. Danny's eyes narrowed but Jamie had noticed it first. "Kids, why don't you help Linda with dinner?" Your father's voice was firm, "why don't you help me make some of Aunt Y/N's favourites, I think we might have something." Linda told them, after hugging you too. "How many you had?" You father pointed at the empty glass, "One." You shrugged, your brothers hugged you too, both being careful with your back. Your sister noticed their actions, she was careful as well. Henry pulled you into a tight hug, his own cop observations telling him to be careful. Your father hugged you tightly, he kissed your forehead, "I'm glad your home." You smiled, your family sat around the couch. "What's going on?" Your father held your hand tightly. You sniffed and wiped your nose on your sleeve, "I was helping a kid when someone in my unit noticed a bomb, I twisted around when he said it was going to blow, I shielded her. It cut my back up. I'm back early so they can finish healing." You looked up from your hands when your father squeezed them. You looked around at your family, each of them had tears in their eyes. Jamie nearly had tears running down his face as he realised that his last words to you could have been said in anger. "You saved a kid. You risked your life for them. That makes you a good person, a good soldier." You gave a watery smile, sniffing. "You can stay with me if you want." You looked at your twin, he nodded when he noticed your eyes on him. You gave a soft smile.

You stayed in the living room, discussing parts of your childhood, the pranks you had pulled with Jaime. Your family spend most of the time laughing about things that had happened. While you sat talking Linda came and joined in the discussions while Nikki finished off dinner with Jack and Sean helping. After a little while, Linda left to help the kids with carving the meat.

"Dinner's ready." Sean looked at the group of almost crying adults, "Why is everyone crying?" You stood and hugged your nephew, dropping a kiss on his hair. "They're happy to have me back." Sean looked up at you. "I'm happy to have you back too." You grinned down at him. "I'm happy to be back too." Your family filtered through to the dinning room. Jamie hugged you, you stayed in the doorway. "I'm sorry, Y/N." He whispered. "Me too." You stayed like that for a few moments before heading into the dining room.
