Chapter 21 - Second chance
Adelina's pov:
I woke up to a loud noise I heard at my door. Someone was knocking the door and calling my name from outside. I told loudly to him to give some seconds, got out of my bed, got dressed and opened the door. One of the pack's warriors was waiting for me. He told me to follow him, according to Chris' orders. A black SUV was waiting for us at the front door. I got in and the car started immediately. The driver and the warrior sitting next to him on the passenger's seat were annoyingly quiet. I tried to ask them why Chris called for me but they didn't tell me anything. I started believing that maybe Maximus' health got worse. I hope it hasn't. Fifteen minutes later we arrived at the hospital. One of the warriors got out first and opened the door for me. I got out and headed towards the entrance. I quickly climbed the stairs and reached Maximus' room. I was going to knock when Chris opened it and told me to go inside.
-"Has Maximus gotten worse?" I asked worried.
