Eating devil fruits

This was not to say that there were only those two fruits in the restricted vault just that the others didn't catch his interest. the total amount in the vault was seven total but the other five were types that should definitely be considered restricted. for example the time time fruit that granted a very vague ability to manipulate time itself which alastair himself was extremely clear of how high the consequences of such a thing are. the other four fruit similarly had potentially world shattering implications so alastair sealed them away firmly.

Alastair himself ate the death death fruit and immediately regretted his decision as a notification from the system popped up. {WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!} {LINEAGE FACTOR ALERATION CLASHING WITH RACE RESULTING IN MUTATION , STANDBY} alastair doubled over in agony and was forced into his dragon form before passing out. he slept a dreamless sleep for an unknown amount of time before he finally woke up. the first thing that alastair saw was a system notification informing him of his successful mutation into an unknown variant of dragovian. alastair observed himself while ignoring the system immediately noticing two big changes. the first was that his size had increased by easily three times making him truly massive.

Alastairs current size from claw to back was eight meters give or take and his length reach close to twenty meters long. the second big change was that his appearance went from gold and purple to a gold and purple with the half of each scale being black along with a whole lot more bone spikes along his spine and an extra set of horns on his head. alastair could feel his new powers and knew how to roughly use them. these powers looked similar to black smoke when summoned giving alastair a devilish appearance.

Alastair dismissed the system notification and transformed into his human form after naming his new race the death lord dragovian. alastairs ears went from purple tipped to black tipped and his eyes grew slightly darker but otherwise his human form wasn't any different. leaving the restricted vault alastair was surprised to learn that only a few hours had passed since he went into the vault meaning no one noticed his absence. the group noticed the change in his ears color immediately and soon learned of his consumption of the death death fruit.

Alastair also explained how eating the fruit had changed his race into a different kind of dragovian which surprised his wives especially erisa who wanted to see if the same thing happens if she eats a fruit. alastair tried to persuade her against it due to how painful it was for him but she insisted so he relented in the end. erisa ate the dryad fruit and in a similar fashion to alastair was forced into her dragon form which was a fiery dragon and alastair had to worry about the clashing elements of her dragovian element of fire and the dryads obvious plant element.

Thankfully alastairs worries didn't come to pass as erisa's dragon form shrank and lost its scales and horns. new wooden branch like horns grew out and the scales regrew with brown bark like textures along with red flaming ivy patterns. erisa's new form had a beautiful contrast of plant and fire coexisting in harmony that made it hard not to stare in awe. the group sailed to whitebeards new base on an island in the middle of the grand line where alastair learned why the dryad fruit was in the restricted vault.

It turns out that erisa gained both the ability to hear the words of the world but also command all forms of plantlife meaning she could easily create an extinction event by commanding the food plants not to grow or worse become inedible. erisa would probably not do such a thing but that didn't make the prospect any less terrifying. whitebeard welcomed the group personally with a huge feast and he learned that alastair ate his old captains devil fruit which he said he was glad of since it was in good hands. alastair let whitebeard know he was leaving this world soon which whitebeard wished him well.
