Meanwhile in Omar's Office…

OMAR'S POV :

"Excuse me, Sir, the meeting will start in 5 minutes, everyone is waiting for you," Grace said holding a file in her hands while waiting for me.

"Coming." I grabbed my phone and left the office walking with Grace aside and telling her some important details about today's meeting. She seems like a hard-working person. Even though she joined just yesterday, she learned so many things, a fast learner if you ask me. "As I already told you, this meeting is not an easy one because of Mr Shaw, he is very hard to please. So, be prepared to face him. I'm not telling this to scare you as this is new for you. You will learn more if you attend meetings like these."

She nodded and smiled, "I know sir. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I'll try my best." She said confidently but I know that she is a bit scared of this meeting because she has been fidgeting with her fingers on the file. After all, this is her second day and her first meeting. But she has to come as she is my assistant and by this, she can also learn a few things.

"Don't be nervous, you don't have to do anything today, I'll handle everything. I just called you because you are new to this, so you can watch how meetings go with a stubborn person." I told her but she still looks nervous. Maybe I shouldn't have told her about him. I placed my hand on her shaking hands to assure her, "It's okay, be calm."

She stopped walking and looked at me in surprise. Her nervousness was nowhere to be seen but it was replaced by something. Her cheeks started to turn bright pink and she immediately turned her face away and looked everywhere but my eyes.

Is she blushing? Damn, she is really blushing. Is this because I touched her hands? I chuckled, She looks cute when she blushes like a cute kitten. I patted her head and smiled seeing her cute face. "Let's go." She nodded and walked with me to the meeting room.

As we entered, everyone greeted me while standing up from their chairs. I greeted them back and told them to sit. "So, is everything ready Hannah?" I asked my employee who I assigned for this project to collaborate with Mr Shaw as she is one of my best employees.

"Yes Mr King, everything is ready." She said.

At the same time, Mr Shaw entered the room along with his assistant. He is in his mid-fifties, very strict and as I already told you, very stubborn to agree even with a perfect plan. But still, a hard-working person that's why I respect him.

"Welcome Mr Shaw, you came on time." I greeted him and showed him his seat to sit down.

"As always Mr King." He said with a poker face. This man never shows his expressions.

"So am I…" I said.

He nodded, "I know about your punctuality and hard working nature and that is why I'm here to give you a chance. If you impress me with your work then I won't hesitate to collaborate with you on this new project."

"We won't disappoint you," I said and gestured to Hannah to start explaining.

She nodded and started explaining the details of the project. After explaining the overall details, she attached the drive to the system while switching on the projector and all the lights in the room went off as she started.

But something is wrong with the presentation. Everyone was shocked after seeing the presentation even Hannah who was in charge of this. She started checking her system nervously but her facial expression says everything that something is wrong.

"Is everything okay Hannah?" I asked her.

She looked troubled and said, "Sorry Mr King, but I don't know why it's not working. I even checked everything before coming here."

She is not lying, she prepared everything and showed me the presentation yesterday. And if she says that she checked before coming here then it might be true.

"Do you have a copy?" I asked Hannah.

She nodded and went out to get the copy. After a few minutes, she came back empty-handed. "Sorry Mr King, but I couldn't find the hard disk. It was lost." She looked down in guilt and was on the verge of crying. After all, she prepared this for a month.

What the f*ck happened? Someone must have replaced the drive and taken the hard disk. Looks like, Someone is trying to sabotage us. But who would dare to do this, that too in my office? I will look into this later but right now, I need another presentation as soon as possible. I can do this but it'll take at least an hour to prepare a new one.

"What is this Mr King? Are you wasting my time? You of all know how precious time is, I didn't expect this from you." Mr Shaw started to get irritated.

"Sorry for the trouble Mr Shaw, just give me an hour to prepare a new one." I apologized and asked him to give me some time.

He chuckled, "One hour? I know you can prepare a new one in an hour, I heard a lot about you being a young businessman of the year. But don't you know that time is important? Even a second is precious." He said standing up from the chair and started walking towards the door. "Goodbye Mr King."

"We are really sorry Mr Shaw. Hope I get a chance again to prove myself." I said and he just nodded saying 'let's see for that in future.' I don't want to argue or ask him anymore after all, it's our fault even if someone is behind this.

"Wait", I heard Grace's voice beside me. She started running towards him, "Sir, please wait." She stopped him near the door. What is she doing? Did she forget what I told her? He won't listen to her.

"Grace?" I called her but she just looked at me saying, 'trust me', in a low voice.

"Sir, I'm really sorry for interrupting you but as far as I know you gave us half n hour for the presentation and another half n hour to sign the project if you like it and we still have twenty minutes left to finish the presentation, am I right?" She asked him and he looked baffled by her sudden question. Even I was surprised by her sudden question. What is she trying to do?

"Yes, you are right. But it doesn't mean I have to wait to waste my time." He said certainly irritated by her sudden question. He was about to leave but she stopped him again standing before him and blocking the door. What happened to her?

"We won't waste your time Sir, just give me five minutes and I'll prepare the presentation." She said confidently which surprised us all.

Mr Shaw laughed, "Are you for real? How can you prepare a new one in just a few minutes? It's not even possible. Just move away, don't waste my time anymore." He said pretty much on the verge of shouting. If she doesn't move away now, he will definitely shout at her which I don't like.

"Grace, move," I told her but she just requested with her eyes asking me to give her a chance and I couldn't say no to her when she ask me with her pretty hazel dark eyes.

"Mr Shaw, I heard that you are very strict about everything and also you will keep your promises. I know that it's our fault for not giving the presentation. But I don't think I'm asking anything wrong for you to give us the time that you promised. Can't you give us the time you promised?" Everyone in the room are just staring at her. Mr Shaw is just standing there not moving at all. She caught him there. I didn't know that she researched about him.

"Are you sure you can prepare a new one in just five minutes?" He asked finally coming out of the shock. She nodded, "Okay then, I'll give you five minutes to prepare it and ten minutes to explain." He said and she jumped in joy. OMG, did she just convince him? She finally made it. "But don't ask me another five minutes just because it takes to convince me."

She nodded smiling, "I won't, promise."

He came back to sit and she came to my side taking a paper and a pen from the table. She started drawing on the paper and everyone in the room just stared at her. What's on her mind?

"What are you doing?" Mr Shaw asked her curiously, thinking about what she was doing for about five minutes.

"Done." She placed the pen on the table and took the paper in front of him. "I hope you won't mind if I show my presentation on a paper."

"Can you explain everything in this?" He asked her and she nodded. "Then, go ahead." He gestured for her to start and she looked at me to ask my permission to start. I nodded and she smiled.

She started explaining everything and we all just stared at her listening carefully. The entire room is silent, only her voice can be heard.

We didn't even know how time flies until she said, "And that's it." No one opened their mouth to speak, we are just staring at her and the paper on the table, even Mr Shaw didn't say anything. "Is everything okay?" she asked nervously. Why is she nervous when she did an amazing job? Seriously, I'm very much impressed, even if he doesn't agree after this then it's his loss.

"I'm impressed." Mr Shaw spoke finally coming out of shock and we all heaved a sigh of relief. She surprised us all, but what surprises us the most is she impressed Mr Shaw. Don't think that I'm exaggerating, it's true that he never said I'm impressed as far as I know about him. "Still I can't believe that you thought all about it just in five minutes. But anyways, you got me in this. Prepare the papers and I will sign them." Damn, she finally made it.

Everyone started cheering and jumped in joy. Hannah got the papers ready and Mr Shaw signed them after reading them. We shook hands after signing the papers, "Thank you for collaborating with us, Mr Shaw."

"You should thank her not me, she is the one who convinced me." He indicated towards Grace who is talking with Hannah explaining to her what to do. "Is she your assistant?"

"Yes, she just joined yesterday." I smiled looking at her. "And also it's her first job."

"Really? She doesn't look like an amateur when she was explaining. Well Mr king, you got yourself a brilliant assistant." He said and called Grace to come. She came to us nervously.

"Sir?"

"Why are you nervous when you did an amazing job?" he complimented her which made her smile. He patted her head like a father appreciating his daughter, "You have a bright future ahead, keep going." He said smiling. Did he just smile? Great, Grace not only impressed him but also made him smile which is actually a rare scene to see. He left after saying goodbye and everyone went to their respective work.

She sighed in relief after everyone went out. "I didn't know that you are brave enough to stand up to Mr Shaw." She was startled by my sudden voice behind her and almost slipped when she abruptly turned to face me. "Careful." Luckily, I caught her on time.

And now, she is in my hands again and just like that, I was lost in her eyes again. Why are her eyes so beautiful and sparkling like stars that can capture me within a second? Even though I just met her a few days ago, she looks like someone I know. I never thought that I could think of someone without knowing much about them.

Maybe not knowing much about her personal life piques my interest. I don't have to learn about her personal life but still, it interests me to know everything about her. And that's what I am going to do to satisfy my interest even though I don't want to invade her personal life.

I never thought that someone so innocent as her is brave enough to stand up to a person like him. She even managed to impress him and made him smile. She is one hell of a woman who has a lot more qualities than she shows outside.

She is innocent but can be brave and sometimes she is more stubborn than Mr Shaw. In just a few days, she showed me so many shades of her. And her brilliance is not up for discussion, she proved it by convincing him. She not only impressed him but also me and the whole staff who were present.

We didn't realise how much time passes, it's like she is a magnet which attracts me and doesn't want to go away. We just stayed like that staring into each other's eyes forgetting about our surroundings until…

"Are you f*cking kidding me?" Until the devil herself intervened.
