Chapter 46 : Shots Fired
Raven’s POV
I see it coming—the bullet. It is a hybrid bullet, the base of silver glinting in what little light is available in the decrepit warehouse room that we are all in while the main body of the bullet is made of wood.
It is the perfect wooden stake, and it is coming right at me!
I let my body react, giving into my vampiric instincts, and leap up into the air, twisting and spinning with years of instinctual skill. I watch as the bullet passes under me and, much to my horror slams into the chest of the Luciano coven member who was standing directly behind me. I watch as the impact throws him backward and, in an instant, I know that he is already dead. It was a perfect hit. It was the perfect bullet.
It was the wrong move.
The moment I touch back down onto the ground, I launch myself directly at Arthur. Other Luciano coven members see that one of their vampiric brothers is dead on the ground and, with first blood spilled, an all-out fight commences.
