Chapter 14: Swimming Lesson

"Good Morning." Hikaru said to Ayanokoji who was waiting for him, they were going to complete their routine morning walk.

"2 laps, we will follow the same path as the one we followed yesterday."

"Alright."

As Hikaru and Ayanokoji sprinted through the island, they were just silent. Completely silent.

"So, how are you feeling?" Ayanokoji said in an attempt to break the ice.

"I am fine, why do you ask?"

"No reason."

"Alright, let's increase the pace shall we." Hikaru said as he increased his pace.

'You are acting abnormally.' Zekrom said.

'Who wouldn't, if they knew what their future held in store for them.'

'True, but do you really want to release the seal now?'

'I have already delayed it for some time, I don't think I can afford to waste any more time, he is starting to become active again too. I shall do what I was and am supposed to do.'

'Don't persuade him, it's better for us anyway. We are getting closer to our dreams.' Reshiram said to Zekrom.

'You are right, it's the best course of action.'

"We have swimming classes today, don't we?" Hikaru said to Ayanokoji.

"Yes."

"Good." Hikaru said.

By the time Hikaru and Ayanokoji finished their second lap, it was already 6:30 Am.

"Well, we did better than yesterday. It took us 140 minutes to complete the 2 laps, including the 2-minute break we took. This time, we completed the 2 laps in 135 minutes, including the 2-minute break. An insignificant improvement, but an improvement nevertheless." Hikaru said.

"Hmm."

"Ah, good morning Horikita-san." Hikaru said as he looked at Horikita who was walking towards them.

"Good Morning." Horikita replied as she walked past them.

"She is the same as usual." Hikaru said as he started walking towards the dorms followed by Ayanokoji.

"See you later." Ayanokoji said as he entered his room.

"Bye."

"I still have some time left until classes start, I'll just study until then." Hikaru said as he sat on his desk and started going through his notes he had made during class in these two days.

As Hikaru started checking on his notes, time flew by as usual. Though it seemed to be in a rush from Hikaru's perspective, according to him, time was in a rush at that moment.

"Phew! Finished at last." Hikaru said as he closed his notebook. It took him approximately 2 hours to completely revise his notes, barely finishing them on time.

"It's 8:30 already, I better get changed." Hikaru said as he changed into his school uniform.

"I'll need to earn some points again." Hikaru said as he left his room and exited the dorm.

The first thing Hikaru noticed when he entered the class was the fact that the boys were exceptionally excited today, probably cause of the swimming class. They will get to see the girls in their respective swimsuits after all. The thought of that might have made them happy.

'Aren't you excited by the fact too?' Zekrom asked Hikaru.

'No, cause we won't be having a swimming class today.'

'Oh? Why is that?'

'One of the pipes responsible for pumping treated water into the swimming pool had been damaged due to yesterday's events. I just noticed it during my morning walk, so no swimming class today until they fix the pipe, which will take a few days at least.'

'That's quite unfortunate.'

"Ah! Good Morning Hikaru!" Kushida said to Hikaru who had just entered the classroom.

"Good Morning Kikyo." Hikaru said as he walked over to his desk.

"Are you excited about the swimming class today Hikaru?"

"Well, I generally like water, so yeah. What about you?"

"Yup! I am looking forward to it!" Kushida said as she leaned on Hikaru's desk.

The conversation between Kushida and Hikaru didn't go unnoticed by the other students though, they were quite shocked at first when the duo called each other by their first name and were curious as to what triggered this change, although some were completely ignorant to it and didn't heed it.

"Homeroom is going to start now, you better go to your desk." Hikaru said after talking with Kushida for a while.

"Un!" Kushida said after which Sae-chan entered the class and proceeded with it as usual.

After homeroom ended, Hikaru left the classroom for the cafeteria in search of some friendly senpais, but alas! His luck wasn't as good today as there weren't a lot of upperclassman in the cafeteria today and the one's who were there refused to play his little game.

'I am quite free now, what should I do?'

'Go to the library, it's better than that noisy classroom after all.' Reshiram said.

As Hikaru walked into the library, he could see Horikita sitting and making some notes with a few dozen books by her side.

'She sure works hard.' Zekrom said.

'I can't deny that.' Hikaru said to Zekrom via telepathy as he browsed through the shelves for something interesting to read. Finally, he chose a book regarding the relation between Psions and Eidos. and sat across Horikita. [E/N-Psions and Eidos are terms from The Irregular At Magic Highschool. It's quite complicated but they are basically what causes magic in the series.]

"What do you want?" Horikita said as she stopped writing her notes for a moment before looking at Hikaru.

"I don't want anything though?"

"Is that so." Horikita said as she continued writing her notes, following which Hikaru started taking some notes of his own.

"I am curious, why do you seem so distant with everyone?"

"That's none of your business and as for being distant, the same could be said for you."

"I just didn't have the opportunity to but you on the other hand seem like you are repulsed to the idea of having friends, I wonder why is that."

"I don't think they are necessary and if you think about it for a while, you will think the same."

"That depends on the situation and circumstances don't you think? And in this situation, friends are needed. Looking at you, you are definitely hard-working, physically fit and seeing as how you are in the library during your free time shows that you are willing to improve. You are more of an A-Class candidate than a D-Class candidate, so why do you think you are in D-Class?"

"You might be correct, but I can't simply believe you. I'll keep this possibility in mind though." Horikita said before continuing to write her notes.
