let's eat

Alina was silent for a moment before she spoke "because I can't let you ruin your life".

"What?" lily was taken aback as she never expected alina to such thing.

Lily paused before continuing "what are you sayin… no … what do you mean?"

Lily firmly believed that alina would never do anything that would hurt her, even now when she is clearly abducted she believes that alina is innocent.

Lily only had one thing in mind that was to find out the reason behind all this. She wanted to know why alina would take such a huge step.

All this while alina kept silent but the more she didn't speak, the more her eyes did.

Her eyes were trying to hide a tornado of emotions but to no avail.

Even lily who always knew what her sister was feeling couldn't tell the depth of emotion alina was hiding.

Lily could tell only one thing right now and that was how much pain alina was in.

Alina didn't answer. She remained sitting there biting her lip as if asking herself what to do.

"Lina…" lily whimpered as she called out alina's name.

Alina jerked a little as tears filled her eyes, but none of those tears dared to drop out from her eyes.

"Lina you are scaring me" lily never saw her sister cry even when alina was in extreme pain she would smile for her.

Lily felt a sudden increase of weight on her body. This weight was alina who was hugging her tightly.

"I am sorry lily … I am sorry" lily could hear alina saying this again and again. This whisper was barely audible but alina could make it out.

Maybe this is called the whisper of hearts between twins.

Alina didn't wanted to let go of her, no, she refused to let her go.

"if I could I would have stopped the time for us right now" alina whispered in lily's ear "if I could I would have turn back time to when we were kids"

Alina loosened her arms around lily and faced her "if I could I would protect you from all the pains of the world"

Alina eyes were still wet with tears.

Her eyes were filled with extreme sadness, regret, anger but there was also happiness, love and determination.

Alina sat back again at the table in front of alina "but unfortunately I am just me".

For some reason lily couldn't understand her, she knew what alina had said but it was like she was listening to someone orally explain a math problem.

Even then lily felt something was not right, she felt as if something bad was going to happen, but that didn't scare her much compared to the feeling that was making her feel that alina is slipping away from her fingers and falling into a abyss.

*ting ting* sound of message notification came form alina's phone.

Lily saw alina check her phone; she knew something was wrong as she saw everything vanishing from alina eyes. Alina eyes were now extremely calm but this scared lily even more.

This calmness was not that of peace but the one before a tornado.

[This is it? Hmmm] alina said inside her brain.

[Please don't forget me… I know this is selfish of me but remember me in good words … what I did was for you … even though I am weak I will never let you suffer … please don't get my intentions wrong] alina said this in her head as she gently creased lily cheek.

"Lets eat shall we?" alina withdrew her hand before walking towards the fridge.

Lily just blinked not knowing what was going on. She knew something was wrong but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"I bought this from our favorite restaurant" alina slowly placed food on the plates from the containers.

"I was really in the mood of seafood so almost all the dishes contain that… I hope you don't mind" alina looked at lily with expectant eyes.

Lily shook her head slowly.

Soon a smile came on alina face; this smile was like that of a child who has been given his most desired toy as a gift.

Lily felt that everything else that happened before was dream, after seeing that smile.

Alina placed her favorite dishes in lily plate and hers in her own plate.

She sat on the chair which was facing towards lily.

Lily saw alina gulped as alina saw the food in her own plate.

"Lets eat!" alina exclaimed she started to eat her food.

Lily watched her happily chow down the food.

"This is soooo good!" alina looked towards lily only to see her sitting there motionless "huh! Why aren't you eating?"

"Did you not like the food?" alina was thinking as she spoke "I think I can get something else to eat for you just in time or maybe…"

Lily interrupted alina "umm lina my hands…" lily pointed towards her hands with her eyes.

Alina saw her hands which were still bound to the chair.

Alina blushed at her mistake while scratching her chin.

Seeing this lily burst into laughter, first alina was shocked but soon she joined in too.

When they quite down alina walked towards alina, before she sat in the chair beside lily.

"Lina I can eat by myself… can you release my hands?" lily spoke as she saw alina pick up her plate to feed her.

"Nope" alina stuck her tongue out at lily.

"Why?" lily was confused.

"Because I want to feed my sweet little sister" there was sincerity in alina voice.

Lily knew there were other reasons too but she will accept this one.

Both sisters had huge smiles on their faces.

"Lily can u promise me something?" alina asked while feeding her shrimp.

"Sure! What is it?" lily energetically nodded.

"take care of yourself no matter what … and eat your food properly even if I am not there with you … okay?" alina was afraid that lily would do something drastic in her absence that would effect lily's health.

"Hmmm" lily thought that alina was referring to when she would be married with Derek.

Oh how wrong lily was. Lily cried for days thinking back to this moment. Lily would be filled with so much regret. Lily would want to protest by abstaining from eating but she could not because of this promise. This would slowly eat lily from inside.

Alina didn't know she would be putting lily in so much pain by making her promise this. Alina just wanted lily to be happy and healthy despite not being around her. But all of this happened in the future.
