Fairy Tail: Twilight Dragon

It was an era where giant dragons ravaged, flames blazed into the sky, human beings lingered, and ruined kingdoms and dilapidated ruins were everywhere. A man who should have never existed in that world appeared. What changes will his existence bring to the world, both in the present and in the future? An existence that overshadows the Black Mage Zeref and the Black Dragon Acnologia. Disclaimer: Fairy Tail is not my work but that of Hiro Mashima. This is my first attempt at writing, so there are undoubtedly mistakes, and there might be differences from the canon. Constructive feedback and suggestions are more than welcome as we embark on this journey.

Chapter 2 : A Dragon?

A/N:

Please take note for the 'dialogues' in the chapter:

"..." Dragon

[...] Egg

------------------------------------------------------------

XXX Forest

In a clearing in the middle of a forest, a white dragon was lying down; its nine fluffy tails were curled together, forming a nest for an egg that was wrapped in a dim purple aura.

"Are you going to come out soon, child?"

[....]

"Are you a boy?"

[....]

"Perhaps a girl?"

[....]

"Hmm, I see. How about I poke a little hole in your shell and take a peek?"

[!!!]

Hearing the dragon's words, the egg squirmed, and its purple aura started blinking crazily.

"How cute."

[*gulp]

A drop of water slid down the egg's shell, and no one knows if it was sweat or maybe just moisture from the air.

Three more days passed, and only the egg knows how much teasing it got from the vix-, dragon, and god knows why someone would even tease an egg.

In the past few days, cracks have started appearing on the shell. When the white dragon first saw the crack, its initial reaction was to worry about maybe teasing the egg too much and causing it to crack.

But after her 'careful' analysis, it has nothing to do with her but rather because the egg is about to hatch.

And right now, staring at the egg full of web-like cracks, the dragon has a very entangled expression.

"Uh, I still haven't thought of a name."

"Can you delay your hatching for a few more days?"

[....]

"Hmm, how about Luna, Selena, Miyako..."

While the dragon was immersed in her own world, the egg started shaking and emitted brighter light.

The white dragon was woken up by this scene; she put aside her thoughts and focused on the egg.

*crack* *crack*

The cracks began to spread even further before a bright purple light completely veiled the egg from sight.

After some time, the light that enveloped the egg started to dim before it totally vanished and revealed what was behind the light.

Staring at the place where the egg originally was, the white dragon saw a small creature staring back at her.

"You're... a human?"

Although the idea that the egg may not be of a dragon but of some other creature crossed the dragon's mind, she never thought that a human child would come out of the egg.

Right before her stood a young child whose appearance was captivating. The darkness of the night seemed to have entwined itself into his hair, creating a deep hue that fell gracefully around his shoulders. His eyes mirrored the starry sky.

The child's features held a certain innocence, yet there was a hint of something more, a quiet wisdom or mystery that lingered in the air around him.

'Raziel' A thought suddenly came to her.

"From this day forward, you shall bear the name Raizel, son of Selene, the Moon Dragon." Selene pronounced with dignified pride and anticipatory delight.

Though surprised, whatever he may be—a demon, a dragon, or a human—the moment she, Selene, took the egg, she was willing to accept the child as her own.
