7. Learn Using A.I Chip

Ben wake up at midnight after he faint in his sparring with Roubaul. Ben try to remember his sparring and review it.

"Gramps didn't even try to attack us and let us try our moves. Even so, Wendy can only last for an hour, and i last for 4 hours. In real battle situation, we can only last for half of that at most."-Ben

Ben think that they need to raise their stamina and endurance. He think their magic usage & management are good enough, but they lack the mp quantity and body's stamina. They've ate their elements to restore their energy, but it's still not enough.

Ben know that he might need to fight someone older, stronger, and have more experience. That's why he need to be stronger everyday and prepared for anything. One such thing is knowledge, so he open the book that he borrow from Roubaul.

[Did you want me to scan the book and transfer it to your memory?]

'You can do that?'-Ben

[Yes, i can scan each page in a second and store it in my database. After that, i can send it directly to your brain, so you don't need to read the book. However, you need to take the datas slowly, because your brain hasn't developed fully. If you take the datas at once, it might harm your brain.]

'So i just need to take it slowly right? It's still faster than reading the book on my own. Altough i still need to comprehend the content by myself, but it still save a lot of time.'-Ben

[Then, please open the page one by one and let me scan it.]

Ben then start to flip the pages, one by one to let A.I Chip scan it. A.I Chip only store the datas in it's database and didn't send it to Ben directly. It need to process all the datas first before sending it to Ben.

It takes 6 hours for A.I Chip to finish the scan. Even with A.I Chip's fast scan and computation ability, it still need 6 hours to complete. The book isn't only thick, but the datas in it are also very complex. Beside, Ben need to flip the pages one by one, and that takes time.

'How long will it take for me to receive all those datas?'-Ben

[The fastest that you can do is 60 days if you use your brain to the limit, and you just focus on receiving the datas. To gain optimal result, i advise you to work slowly on it.]

'How long for that?'-Ben

'Hmm, that's certainly a better option considering i have another activity. However, that's still too long, can i get the essential things first before the details?'-Ben

[Yes, i will sort the datas for the essences. Sorting process will take 10 hours.]

'Good, i'll learn the essences first, and learn the details slowly after that.'-Ben

While waiting for A.I Chip to finish the process, Ben get out to train. It's morning already now, so he will train a little before going for a hunting job again. Ben just do some exercise before he go to hunt with Wendy at 9 A.M.

Today, they'll go deeper into the forest for bigger games. The creatures will get stronger as they go deeper into the forest. Ben & Wendy always try to get deeper slowly to increase their challenge. By fighting stronger creatures, they'll also get stronger.

They keep moving deeper, until they find a new area. It's a wide swamp that they never seen before. They need to be cautious and investigate the area first. They move slowly on the outskirts of the swamp, and then they see some creatures.

"Lizardman?"-Wendy

"This place must be their nest, it's a suitable environtment after all."-Ben

"What should we do?"-Wendy

"Let's leave for now, our mission is hunting for food, so we need to focus on it."-Ben

Ben decide to leave the swamp and go to hunt animals. The hunt isn't his only reason, it's also because Lizardmans usually flock together and fighting them in their nest without preparation is stupid. They can fight a stray Lizardman, but this swamp seem to be their nest. They need more preparation if they want to fight the Lizardmans.

"Did you plan to attack the Lizardman nest later?"-Wendy

"I don't know, i will ask Gramps first. Lizardmans are intelligent monsters, and they are strong. If gramps judge them dangerous, them we'll need to exterminate them, or make them leave this area. But if not, then it will be better to leave them alone."-Ben

These Lizardmans seem to have stayed on this area for years. They never attack the village, so it seem they're not hostile. Ben still need to investigate the Lizardmans though before he can really come to a conclusion, not just assumption.

Ben & Wendy then hunt like usual, and they return with 3 white wolves & a bug red bull. Wendy's enchantment is getting stronger now, and it can rasie Ben's strength by 12 points. With his 30 original points and 13 additional, he can lift these 4 carcasses easily.

Ben & Wendy immediately go to the guild building to meet Roubaul. They inform him about the Lizardman's nest in the forest. The distance between them isn't that far, so it is a little worrying.

"Hmm, Ben-boy is right, we need to investigate them first. If they've lived there for years, then their population might be very high now. Soon, they will need to find a new habitat, a bigger place, and the best option is this place."-Roubaul

"What? Why?"-Wendy

"The lake, huh?"-Ben

"That's right. Lizardmans love water, and this place have the highest amount of water in the lake. The swamp might be enough for them in the past, but it won't sustain them in the future."-Roubaul

"Then, should i investigate their nest?"-Ben

"No, i will send someone with a lot of experiences to do this. You just need to wait for the news, and train to get stronger in case those Lizardmans are going to attack us."-Roubaul

"Alright then."-Ben

Ben & Wendy then go to train on their usual place. They train with normal training menu, and not sparring. They've sparred yesterday against Roubaul, and they've found what they need to improve.

[Data sorting complete.]

When Ben train, the A.I Chip have finished it's process. Ben leave it alone for now and focus on his training. He check the data sorting after finishing his training.

[Essence theory: 561 pages. Consisting of 81 main subjects.]

'Hmm, so around 7 pages per main subject. Then send one main subject everyday to me! If the main subject have more than 10 pages, split it in two!'-Ben

[Understood, processing... Found 8 main subjects with more than 10 pages. Calculating time for transfer: 89 days. Will you take the first subject now?]

'Sure, i'll ponder about it while taking a bath.'-Ben

[Transferring first subject: Magic Power]

Ben feel a strong headache and feel something is flowing to his head.

'It's just a 6 pages information, but i've felt such headache, i really won't be able to take more than 10.'-Ben

When the process finished, Ben suddenly know a lot more about magic power. After he get the knowledge, Ben find out that the magic power is a lot more complex than what he thought.

'It seem i can't take these subjects everyday. Even this one subject will need me some days to understand. I can't only know it, i need to understand it, or it will be useless.'-Ben

Ben realize that he underestimate the knowledge about magic too much. He thought that 1,5 years is long enough to learn the book, but it is very short actually. If he didn't have A.I Chip, it might take decades to finish the book.

'This book's content is even more ridiculous than it's appearance.'-Ben

[Of course, it contain all the knowledge that Roubaul learn for all his life. He spent decades for all of these knowledges. Compared to that, you'll only need a few years to complete it, so you need to be grateful for it.]

'..... Are you lecturing me right now?'-Ben

[Yes.]

Ben is speechless now, he always feel that the A.I Chip have personality, and it seem he's right. Ben sigh and forget about it, at least he can learn the magic theories faster than normal people now.
