Fairune!

The new VRMMORPG Fairune! was lauded as the next best game to hit the shelves, it would be a kind of second world for people. It was pushed as a world without limits, where you could be whoever you wanted. Liam is about to embark on his own adventure in the new world, fighting monsters and finishing quests all with the hope of being the greatest swordsman in the game. Follow Liam as he grows from a novice VRMMORPG player to someone renowned throughout the world. This is my first time writing anything so it will probably be poor at first but I will try to improve as I write the chapters. Enjoy

Tier Up Dungeon (2)

In a small dark room a portal was opening with a figure passing through it, as soon as the figure took a step in the room the portal disappeared before the room slowly light up at finally having a presence in it.

Liam carefully looked around his starting place and noticed that he was in a windowless room with a single wooden door on the north side. Even though the room lit up as he appeared here it was only faint. There was a touch on the south wall lit up with an eerie green flame that was the only source of light.

The room itself was completely bare, absolutely nothing else but four walls and a door, so without thinking much of it Liam walked to the only exit. As he touched the handle on the door he could feel a bone chilling cold seep through. As he turned the handle and slowly opened the door the biting cold became more prominent giving Liam a scare.

"Damn. I'm not gonna freeze here right?"

Once the door was opened enough for him to pass through, Liam hesitated before clenching his fists and walking through. On the other side of the door was a long corridor, the walls looked like they were made of rock indicating that he may be in a cave. It was also dark here with the only light another green torch on the wall.

As Liam made his way slowly down the corridor so as to not get ambushed in the dark he noticed that as he moved forward another torch would light up, just enough for him to see a few metres ahead of him. But when he looked back in was dark again and the light was snuffed out. As an experiment Liam decided to go back and as he did the light lit up again but the door he came from was gone. There was a slime like substance covering where the door should have been.

Instead of panicking Liam decided it was best to go forward and not think about it. He knew he was trapped here unless he finished the dungeon so it was best not to linger. As he moved forward the corridor would light up in front of him but darken behind and Liam could swear he can hear movement behind him but everytime he looked it was just darkness staring back.

After a few minutes the corridor started opening up into a large hall. The hall was faintly lit like the corridor before, but at least this time the whole room has light, dim or not. The first thing Liam noticed was the large number of bone piles scattered about the room and in the centre of the hall was a figure it a black cloak. All it's features were hidden so Liam could make out what it was but he could feel the cold from earlier coming from it. Liam checked the room a little more but found nothing but the rocky walls and eerie green lights.

As Liam walked closer to the figure in the middle he could finally see the bare minimum stats of the being and was taken a back with what he saw.

[Necromancer (Elite), Lvl T0:10, HP 1500/1500]

Liam knew what a necromancer was and what they could do.

"Its definitely going to raise those bone piles

against me, ain't it?" As look around he counted 7 such areas with bones and just hope it won't raise them all at once.

Liam once Liam was close enough to the necromancer two small blue flames lit up behind the cloak and it started to move. Liam decided to pre-empt the fight and used <Charge> at the monster.

"Huh?" Liam was a little surprised at his damage. "The boss has about 80 defence."

This completely shocked Liam as he realised that he wouldn't be doing any if not for the strength fruit he had taken before. However he couldn't remained shocked for long as he watched the necromancer disappear in front of him a materialise 15 metres away. This was the life saving move <Teleport> that mage classes gain. The issue though was that only advanced mage classes could have access to it.

"Keke, another one to add to my collection." A grating voice could be heard coming from the necromancer sending a chill up Liam's spine just hearing it. The necromancer didn't immediately summon the dead instead started firing a purple coloured fireball at Liam. As it approached at high speeds Liam only had a second to dodge to the side. As he did he noted that the fire was not hot, all he felt was a bone piercing coldness but before he could think on it some more another fireball was heading his way making him dodge again.

"Keke." The eerie laughter of the necromancer was quite grating similar to a chalkboard being scratched by nails. While it wasn't an attack it was still slightly affecting Liam's mood. He knew if he allowed it to continue it would sooner or later make him slip up.

With that thought in mind Liam ran to towards the necromancer but was having difficulty getting close as it kept firing it's purple fireballs at him. It would also alternate with what looked like arrows of fire every 2 or 3 attacks making Liam pay more attention as these were faster.

A stalemate ensued with Liam constantly on his toes dodging attacks as he tried to get close, while the necromancer was maintaining it's distance.
