Fairune!

The new VRMMORPG Fairune! was lauded as the next best game to hit the shelves, it would be a kind of second world for people. It was pushed as a world without limits, where you could be whoever you wanted. Liam is about to embark on his own adventure in the new world, fighting monsters and finishing quests all with the hope of being the greatest swordsman in the game. Follow Liam as he grows from a novice VRMMORPG player to someone renowned throughout the world. This is my first time writing anything so it will probably be poor at first but I will try to improve as I write the chapters. Enjoy

Tough Fight

Liam was struggling to get close to the necromancer as he continously evaded the attacks sent his way, even though his move speed was slightly higher he could not close the gap between them will all the dodging. However luck seemed to be on his side or the monsters intelligence wasn't high to begin with but Liam could see it was approaching a wall behind it.

'Maybe this is my chance to get close' Liam continued his evasion when the necromancers back finally touched the wall, with the chance given to him Liam rushed the monster as best he could and when he was in range for his skill he immediately activated <Charge>.

Liam immediately followed up with two more slashes before moving to the side to avoid the necromancers punch.

'Didn't do that teleport skill again. Hmm.... Maybe it has a big cooldown.' Liam was right in his thoughts, <Teleport> was a life saving measure for mage based classes as they tend to be rather squishy. So being able to avoid taking damage where possible is needed. But on the negative side it comes with a big refresh period of rough ten minutes making the skill only viable to use once in combat.

Back to the fight.

As Liam tried swinging his sword again a faint purple shield appeared around the necromancer blocking his attack. The necromancer also started chanting at this time. Because he couldn't harm the boss currently as the shield seemed indestructible, Liam decided to make some distance before looking around the room.

Liam noticed that there were plumes of purple smoke coming from 3 of the bone piles in the area and quickly realised what was about to happen.

As he continued to watch Liam could hear creaking noises coming from the piles with smoke before the bones started moving and connecting together into humanoid shapes. It took only a few more seconds before the skeletons appeared in his view. All three look like normal skeletons you might see in a biology lab but they were larger roughly about 3 metres in height each with a different weapon in hand.

The first had a greatsword as big as its body, it was a wonder that the skeleton didn't collapse under the weight. The second had a bow in its hand and Liam could also see its quiver strapped on its back, and the last skeleton was equipped with a sword and shield.

None of the skeletons had any noteworthy features other than the weapons so Liam checked the stats and was a little shocked at what he saw.

[Skeleton Bowman (Elite), Lvl T0:10, HP 1200/1200]

[Greatsword Skeleton (Elite), Lvl T0:10, HP 2000/2000]

[Guard Skeleton (Elite), Lvl T0:10, HP 2200/2200]

'Shit! Three elites at once, plus the necromancer.' Liam then noticed that the shield around the necromancer was still active and it wasn't doing anything else meaning that it probably won't attack him at the moment.

As Liam was taking note of his new enemies, the Guard Skeleton started to rush towards him followed by the Greatsword Skeleton just behind it. He could also see the archer was nocking an arrow to it's bow before firing towards him moments later.

'Can't get tangled with the melee units yet. Need to take out the archer first.' With that thought in mind Liam tried to avoid the two melee skeletons as he rushed towards the bow user. However before he could get far he heard the sound of wind breaking to his side before a massive sword came into view. Liam had to jump back to avoid getting sliced in half by that attack and was instantly pounced on by a shield coming towards his face. He has to take a couple more steps back to avoid the new attack. The sound of the air being moved sounded again as an arrow narrowly miss impaling his head thanks to his back step.

Liam was struggling to find an opening to take the archer out so he used the strategy he did when he fought the goblins yesterday. While he was dodging the attacks from the two melee opponents he tried to keep them both in front of the archers line of sight to make it harder to snipe at him.

While his strategy worked for the most part, he realised that the archer could still see him slightly due to the nature of a skeleton, no flesh or muscle, making the archer able to see through the gaps in the bones. It wasn't a great vision but it still allow the archer some pot shots here and there.

Once Liam got into a rhythm of avoiding the attacks he finally started his own counterattack.
