Chapter 32

After the confrontation with Querehsha and Rakan, Kade began to piece together the information he had gleaned from their encounter. He sat in his dimly lit study, surrounded by the remnants of his experiments and the eerie silence of the infected.

Kade leaned back in his chair, his mind racing. "Monarchs," he muttered to himself, recalling the term Querehsha had used. He had heard whispers and legends about powerful beings that ruled over different aspects of existence, but he had never encountered them until now.

(A.N: He's talking about Greek gods, Jesus etc)

'They see humans as fodder, but they're nothing more than overconfident fools,'

Kade thought, his smile growing wider. The encounter had been a revelation, not just about the existence of the Monarchs but also about their arrogance and underestimation of humanity's potential.

Not to mention something about the winged bastards they mention, they were talking about them as if they were their equal.

He began to formulate a plan. If these Monarchs were as powerful as they claimed, they could pose a little bit of a threat to his ambitions. However, their arrogance was a weakness he could exploit, not to mention he was confident by the time he saw them again, he wouldn't need any tricks to make them his rag doll.

Meanwhile, in the makeshift airport near the Korean Association's temporary base, a plane touched down. The Japanese response team had arrived. Led by the Goto Ryuji, the team emerged from the aircraft with an air of superiority.

Goto Ryuji, a tall and imposing figure with a cold, calculating gaze, stepped forward. Behind him were his top hunters, each one exuding an aura of confidence and power. They looked around, their expressions a mixture of disdain and superiority.

"Is this all you have left?" Goto Ryuji asked, his tone dripping with condescension as he surveyed the Korean hunters gathered to meet them.

Chairman Go couldn't help but sigh at their arrogance, but he couldn't say anything as they need their help desperately. "We appreciate your assistance, Gotto. The situation is dire, but we are managing."

Goto Ryuji glanced at Jinwoo, his expression unreadable. "We will handle this. Your hunters can observe how we do it."

Jinwoo remained calm, his eyes focused. "If you go there now, you will all not come back to your country alive…or sane"

Goto Ryuji dismissed Jinwoo's words with a wave of his hand "We are not the same, we are competent enough to deal with one person"

Determined to prove their superiority, Goto Ryuji and his party decided to confront Kade directly. They made their way through the ruined streets of Seoul, their confidence unshaken by the devastation around them. They believed that they could handle whatever Kade threw at them.

They soon arrived at the heart of the city, where Kade's influence was strongest. As they approached, they saw a lone figure standing in their path, Woo Jinchul.

Goto Ryuji scoffed. "Is this the best they can send against us? One man?" They could not detect any aura from Jinchul.

Woo Jinchul, under Kade's control, stood silently, his expression blank. He made no move to attack, merely watching as the Japanese hunters approached.

"Let's make this quick," one of Goto's hunters said, stepping forward.

The Japanese hunters charged at Woo Jinchul, their attacks mix of magic and close combat. But Jinchul moved with inhuman speed, dodging their blows with ease. He countered with strength they'd never felt before, it was inhumane.

Within moments, the Japanese hunters found themselves on the defensive. No matter how hard they fought, Jinchul seemed unstoppable.

They managed to wound him a few times but his regeneration abilities made them think he was unkillable, and it's as if he's got unlimited stamina.

Goto Ryuji, realizing the gravity of the situation, joined the fray. His presence gave his team a momentary boost, but even he struggled against Jinchul's overwhelming power.

He cut Jinchul'a head which made them breathe in relief but they felt the dread weighing down on them when they saw his head attached back to his body with black tendrils

"This is impossible!" one of Goto's hunters shouted, frustration evident in his voice. "Are we sure we're fighting a human?"

Goto Ryuji gritted his teeth. "We underestimated them. Focus on taking him down!"

But it was too late. One by one, the Japanese hunters fell, their bodies battered and broken. Jinchul stood over them, without even a scratch or cut, it was as if he wasn't in a fight if not for his tattered clothing.

Kade watched the battle from a distance, a satisfied smile on his lips. As the last of the Japanese hunters fell, he approached the defeated group.

"You thought you could defeat me? Really?" Kade said, his voice mocking. "Jinwoo gave more of a challenge fighting by himself than all of you combined"

He extended his hand, and dark tendrils emerged, wrapping around the fallen hunters. They struggled, but it was futile. Kade's control was absolute.

"Welcome to my army," Kade said, his smile widening as the tendrils tightened, consuming the hunters' will and bringing them under his command.

Meanwhile from afar, a shadow soldier was watching them, to be more precise, Jinwoo was watching them through his shadow soldier.

Seeing them beaten so easily by none other than Jinchul was a surprise, last time he checked, Jinchul was an A rank at most, but he had just beaten a large group of S ranks like It was nothing.

'How can he make them this strong, it's as if S ranks aren't so rare now' Jinwoo thought as he looked at Jinchul, what surprised him more was the fact that Jinchul along with Kade was looking at where his shadow was positioned. 'How can they sense a shadow, it's as if they got eyes everywhere'

Jinwoo wasn't wrong for thinking that, Kade has got an eyes everywhere, literally. All the infected in the area was Kade's eye, so it'll be hard to miss anything.
