Chapter 2 : Loan Sharks
Sunny Morning. Jung Residence. EunHa's POV.
The kettle blows audibly, I run to switch it off and pour a little amount of hot water into my cup. The tea fuse down on to the water, giving a good whiff of aroma that calms down on my nerves. I sat on to the kitchen counter, taking a gradual sip but unfortunately it had me thinking about what happened last night during Yoongi's house party.
Jungkook announced everyone about our false relationship which had left everyone in ram. Some were elated but most weren't convinced. Girls were giving me bitter looks that night, but Somi and Yeri kept under close with me. Surprisingly, after that announcement, Jungkook left me. Yes, he left me. Everytime I'd like to ask him why he did that, he keeps on ignoring me like nothing happened. I haven't got enough clear answers to his crazy mind.
But what keeps me thinking is how am I going to get away from his life. I can't be his girlfriend just because he say so. I'm not the cheapest one to have a boyfriend because of that move. B-But.. what he did for me last night. He saved me. He saved me from seconds before the worst to come and the most embarrassing thing that could ever happen to me. His touch were out of the blue, it felt so sincere especially when I get to stare into his eyes.
Snap out of it, EunHa! Just because you experienced something like that for the first time, doesn't mean something. He just saved you. Everyone would do that as well! I hit my head several times, trying to shake of my crazy thoughts out of my head. Instead, I finish the cup of tea that just went cold because of how long I was spacing out.
I made a little jump out of the kitchen counter, placing the empty cup into the sink. Spacing out once again, I thought.. His touch. It was my first time. It's the first time a guy gets to touch me, to get a hold of me.. to kiss me.
Just then, a loud rustic noise banged from the outside of the house. I made a tiny jump from where I am standing. "Damn, the cats are getting some food on the trashcan again." I mutter to myself.
I hastily took the groom from the corner, heading out to the front door. But upon opening the door, I was surprised not because it's the fault of the cats, rather it was Eun Woo oppa being beaten up by three men in suits.
Without a second delay, I hastily slammed one of the guy's head with my wooden broom. The guy turns back with full frustration written all over his face, I return the same with anger. "What the hell are you doing to my brother?!" I pushed them out, dragging my ailing brother to my side.
Blood stains were visible on his white shirt, little bruises were on his side lips and cheek.
"You better stay out of this young girl. Move!" Before they could make a single move, I warn them with my wooded broom. "Leave my brother alone! Or else, I'm going to hurt you all. He's done nothing to you!" I retort.
The man snorts, "How cute!" "He loaned from us! He borrowed a hefty amount of money and it's been four months since he haven't paid even a single penny from his 3 Million Won debt. Now we're here to force him to pay us! Now move aside!" The other man angrily shouts.
"..EunHa, leave this to me please. Just get back inside the house." says Eun Woo oppa. His voice can't be clearly heard. "P-Please.. I'll pay you. Give me another month to pay. Just don't take our house." pleads Oppa, enduring the pain on his sides. "Y-You can have this instead." slowly, he took the car keys from his pocket. Throwing it on the side as one of the loan sharks took it and a satisfying smirk lifts up on their faces.
"Alright! We'll give you another month. A million won has finally charged, you have 2 Million left to pay on the next month. Be sure to have the money or else, we'll come back to kick you two out of this house." The man points out, they soon enter the van leaving me and Eun Woo oppa in a trauma.
"..O-Oppa! Oppa! Speak to me. What happened, how come you've loaned so much. 3 million Won isn't a joke. How are we going to pay that?" I worried, Eun Woo oppa tries to stand up. A smile lifts up on his face despite of what happened to him. He pats my head like the usual thing he'd love to do. "It's okay. You don't have to worry about that. All you have to do is to study and have fun in your age."
I pout, "Ahh!~ No! Ofcourse I can't leave you suffering alone, Oppa. I'll help you pay for the debts we had. You've sacrificed your car and now we can't afford to lose our house." He chuckles, "You really. Smart and thoughtful girl. But no thanks, I can handle this EunHa. I'll take more part time jobs. Just promise me that you'll do good in school. Okay?"
I frown, left speechless on how kind my brother is. Oppa endures the pain on the side of his body, I immediately assist him to get inside the house and gave him medical aids and cooked porridge for breakfast.
It's been five years since Eomma and Appa separated which had caused frustration to the family. Both of our parents found another partners to live with. Infact, both of them already had their families of their own. Eomma and Appa couldn't afford to keep Eun Woo and I because they said it would cause complication to their new families. And with that, Eun Woo oppa and I learned to live on our own.
It's really a shame that my brother hasn't stepped into university because he chose to work for our daily needs. At such a very young age, my brother became the mother and father of the family. I wish I could help my brother pay the debts, even though he reprimands me to, I'm sorry but I need to help you Eun Woo oppa.

Hwang University, east wing. Dismissal Time. EunHa's POV.
I sneak out to the east wing, hoping none of Somi and Yeri finds out I'm taking a walk from school. Just then, a loud honk made me jump in nervous. "Yah, EunHa-yah..! Where's your car? Why are you taking a walk home?" I close my eyes, huffing a sigh as I face to look at Somi with her new pink car which she said was another gift from her parents.
I smile like nothing's wrong, "A-Ah.. My car's at the auto shop. It needs to be done for some reasons." I explained. "But why are you taking a walk? Why not take a taxi cab?" She nods, but wonders yet again. "Erh, nothing.. Just wanted to have a peace of mind while walking." My fingers were playing nervously behind my back, hoping I don't sound lying or what.
"Ah.. Alright! But hey, let's go on a shopping tonight at Beverly's?" She asks, just when I was about to accept her invitation to go. I immediately thought about what happened this morning, I rejected her instead. "I-I'm sorry but my brother called and asks me to see him today. Let's just go shopping some other time, Somi-yah.."
Somi pouts, chewing her gum. "Aww, that's sad. But it's okay, I'll just invite Yeri instead. Okay, you better take care! Ciao!~" Somi wears her Louis Vuitton shades as she closes the car's window. She swifts off the road like she owns it and that I've finally exhales the nervousness I felt.
My lips curved low, deciding to walk on to the quiet way out of the school. This day isn't so happy at all. First, morning starts traumatic to what has happened to Eun Woo oppa. Second, everyone's been talking about me about Jungkook's announcement during last night's house party and a part of it was our false relationship and lastly, everyday gets harder to be with Somi and Yeri. It's so hard hiding my deepest secrets from them.
Aish.. Scratch everything out, EunHa. What's important for you to do is find a part time job to help Eun Woo oppa. "Yes, that's right!" I thought to myself.
