Evolution of an Incubus

This probably going to be a trash book like all my other books so please don’t bother reading. The updates will be sporadic at best. Now if you do decide to read, I feel sorry for you. If you don’t, you made a good choice.

Chapter 5

Sol had spent 2 whole months trying to get out of the cave system.

2 months of killing and fucking.

2 months of fighting and learning.

2 whole months.

After they exited the cave, Sol was assaulted with Sunlight. This is his first time. since being created, that he had seen sunlight. It is the same effect as when you walk out of a movie theater. But his was 100x worse.

"AHHH MY EYES!!! SYLVIA !!! HELP!!!" Sol screamed.

He shut his eyes as quickly as possible. If kept them open for a little bit longer, he would have got totally blind.

Then, Sol felt Sylvia slither up his back and cover his eyes with her 'crown'.

As Sol felt the shade over his eyes, he slowly opened them. He was used to the heat because he had been near warm rocks in the cave before.

When his eyes cleared up a little bit, he could see in front of him. There was a spooky-looking forest in front of him. But it had a lot more shade then where he was so he rushed under the really tall, brown things.

"Sylvia, what are these brown things?" Sol asked.

"Have you never seen trees before? Oh ... right ... you were born in a cave. Ok, these brown things are called trees. Humans cut them down to make houses and carts and other things. You can also use it to make fire." Sylvia explained.

Sol already knew what fire was because he and Sylvia had found the occasional root or random piece of wood and cooked some monster meat over it.

Sol took some time to get used to the sunlight. But once he did, I was truly able to take in the scenery.

It seemed like the whole world was green. There were vines hanging down from trees and leaves as far as the eye could see. There were insects all over the place. The chirping of birds could be heard from all directions. The slithering of snakes could also be heard.

"Welcome, my dear Sol, to Taplon."

...

As Sol and Sylvia moved through the first, Sylvia gave Sol some information on the world, or at least what she knew of it at the time.

As you could tell, they were on a planet called Taplon. In this world, after a king of the largest human nation reached a level in his system, weird portal like things started popping up all over the globe. There was no discrimination between places as after about a week, these portals 'broke' and out poured monster.

These things from other worlds started killing. Of course, these kingdoms were no idiots. They had all portals quarantined off from the public and surrounded them by knights from kingdoms all over the world.

When the portal broke, monsters that used to be myths and legends poured out and a grand slaughter began. Even Sylvia came out of one of these portals. She and her fellow monsters killed hundreds of thousands of humans.

All was going well for the monsters until some humans changed. They started gaining powers and systems that used to be unique to the monsters. The humans started to push back the monsters from their last remaining capitals.

The monsters had to start moving underground but were still chaced. This was when Sylvia was sealed in the cave so she had no idea what has happened since them. She had no sense of time so there was no easy way to predict the evolution of the humans or the remainder of any other species for that matter.

As he walked, he came across many different animals. There were things like snakes and lizards and different types of reptiles.

Sol and Sylvia killed them all. Sol ate their life force which started gaining his stat points.

There were things like:

[You have killed a wild beast above your level. You get +2 strength.]

It changed each animal. For snakes, it mostly has his agility, as with things like monkeys gave strength or intelligence. Once, he even found an alligator! It was level 10 and gave him dexterity points.

By the end of his first day on the surface, his new stats looked like:

Once he reached level ten, the numbers next to his level popped up. He questioned Sylvia about it and she said that it was to show how close you were to the next level.

"At level 10 it gets harder to get to the next level so the systems start showing a percentage after that point," Sylvia explained.

His level had risen so much because of his cave extermination and his new jungle hunt. He had also decided to wait to upgrade his intelligence until he had something he wanted to magically corrupt.

After a long time of wandering the jungle, the night began to fall. Sylvia had suggested that they climb in a tree for the night, as a protective measure.

She picked a huge tree. I'm not talking redwood or oak trees but something that was as thick as your living room. Saying it was huge was an understatement.

As Sol climbed up the tree to the very top like any child would do, the sun started to set. And it was the second most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
